Auto news on Youtube Mar 28 2018

hey welcome back to the channel today we're doing another hackintosh build but

this time we're using an i7 8700k coffee leak processor so here we go so

like I said this machine is using an i7 8700K processor, I actually did a build

video on this machine a few weeks ago so I'll put a card up here and a link down

in the description to that video and also have a parts list if you want to

check any of these parts out so in addition to the 8700k processor I'm

also using 16 gigabytes of gskill TridentZ RAM and these were both

installed on the Asus tuff Z 370 pro gaming motherboard 256 gigabyte SSD

drive and an Nvidia GTX 1070 video card. So that GTX 1070 is actually one place that I

had a little bit of a problem with this build. The reason for that was not with

the card but with the drivers available on the Nvidia site, the latest web

drivers actually slowed things down considerably there was noticeable lag it

turns out some of the newer drivers don't work as well in High Sierra and

some of the old what drivers work better so after doing a little bit of research

I found a really good script I'll put a link down in the description to this but

it's out on github and it's by a guy named Benjamin Dobel I hope I'm

pronouncing that right but it's just a script that you download you run it from

the terminal and what it does is it goes out and finds the best Nvidia drivers

not necessarily the newest but the ones that work best on the operating system

you're on I've used that on High Sierra and it worked great the drivers that it

installed work fantastic no lag or anything so other than that I really

didn't have too much of a problem at all with this build everything worked pretty

much out of the box the only thing I had to do was go into clover configurator

after everything was installed and do some tweaking in there if you have no

idea what that means I'll link down in the description to a

article out on Tony Mac that lists you through step by step on how to get

started not necessarily for this build but just for a build in general and

after reading that you'll know exactly what I'm talking about so jumping into

the performance of this machine on day to day activities as you would expect

this thing performs phenomenally well browsing the

doing word processing moving files around all that stuff completely smooth

no hiccups no kernel panics nothing it's been rock-solid now I don't put a lot of

credence into benchmark games I'm more of a hands-on kind of guy but I know a

lot of people like benchmarking so let's jump into that so on Cinebench for

OpenGL we got 130 2.41 frames per second and the CPU was fourteen sixteen on

Geekbench for single core score we got a 5905 and multi-core score was twenty

five six zero seven which is actually a really good score it's kind of right

around what you would expect for this processor now because of this gtx 1070

card of course I had to do some gaming benchmarks I did just a few just to get

an idea for how it performs so first that the thing I did was seven days to

die at the highest setting there was a minimum of 2.7 frames per second an

average of 74 frames per second and a max of 117 point two now as you can see

in this chart that 2.7 minimum was just a quick dip down so you can kind of

discount that I never saw that during gameplay

shadow of Mordor at 1080p Ultra settings there was a forty two point eight

minimum frame per second a ninety six point nine max and it was right around

sixty nine frames per second was sixty eight point nine totally smooth gameplay

again there was a little bit of fluctuation in there but I never really

saw too much of an issue I never saw a drop or anything it seemed pretty

consistent while I was playing so then I wanted to try a game that wasn't as

graphic intensive and rimworld that I had installed so I tried that out solid

60 frames per second no problem as you would expect games like this can run on

pretty much anything so they're gonna run just fine on this system so the

other thing I do with my system a lot is video editing so I wanted to test out

both premiere and Final Cut Pro now Final Cut Pro is one of the best

optimizes applications that I've ever used the scrubbing and everything in

there was completely smooth with 4k video right off my camera I didn't have

to do any proxies or anything smooth scrubbing cutting and moving

Clips around no problem even putting in transitions things like that absolutely

no problem at all I did the Bruce x5k benchmarking and it

took 34 seconds to support that and then I had a nine

minute video as a nine minute 4k video with a couple of layers and you know

basic transitions and stuff nothing too fancy exported that and that took about

20 minutes now that seems like it's a little bit high because one of the nice

things of Final Cut Pro is a fast render times now the deal is Final Cut Pro is

much more optimized to work well with AMD cards so if I had an AMD card in

there I'd be getting much faster export speeds it's a little bit slower with

that gtx 1070 but it's still you know it's not bad at all twenty minutes to

export a 4k video is not bad next up is adobe premiere now adobe premiere

perform great on this as well the scrubbing around the timeline wasn't

quite as smooth as it was on Final Cut Pro but again I didn't have to make

proxies and just by sending that preview level down a little bit from fall down

to half or quarter it sped things up it was definitely workable it definitely

didn't have to take the time to generate the proxy files and stuff like that and

then with multiple layers and transitions and color grading and some

audio effects exporting a nine-minute 4k video to h.264 or 4k it took about 15

minutes so it was significantly faster on this machine in Adobe Premiere just

for the rendering then it was on Final Cut Pro and again if I had an AMD card

in that I am almost 100% sure that that render time would be much much faster in

Final Cut Pro so overall been really happy with this high sierra works

fantastically well on this machine i have a dual booting with Windows 10 so I

switch between Windows 10 and I Sierra and they both work great on this

computer so if you're considering building a

hackintosh this is a fantastic machine this processor works awesome the the

motherboard is great I haven't had any problem with the RAM I haven't tried to

overclock it yet this is just standard clocking but everything's worked great

and I can really recommend all this stuff the only thing that I would change

if you're building this solely for a hackintosh is you may want to consider

consider getting a AMD card rather than an nvidia card just

things are a little more optimized in mac OS so hopefully you guys have

enjoyed this video and found it useful if you did and you haven't subscribed

Starbucks Pike Place Coffee Review - Duration: 3:27.

- Hey, welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee,

your place for average Joe coffee reviews.

Today's coffee is from Seattle,

but thank the Lord it's not raining.

(catchy music)

- Alright today we are reviewing

Starbuck's Pie Place Roast,

which is supposed to be smooth and balanced.

It's a medium roast.

And on the bag it says basically that

you shouldn't really have to pick out any,

or you can't really pick out any

particular flavors.

- Mmmm hmmm.

- Everything's supposed to just be consistent

and harmonious.

But then also,

it says that there are flavors of cocoa

and toasted nuts.

- That's weird.

- Yeah.

- It's like why name flavors.

How about this is a no label flavor society.

(laughs)

- Yeah.

- Why point out those flavors if you're not

supposed to be able to taste them.

- Right.

- Separately.

But what did we taste?

I don't know.

- Right, so this is a 12 ounce bag,

and the price was, what?

- Expensive.

(laughs)

Nine something,

so it was like 12 something a pound.

Which is on the higher end for average coffee.

- Yeah, 9.50 a bag.

Apparently was not on sale.

- No, it was on sale.

That's the regular.

- Oh. - We bought it

for like 6.99.

- Uh yeah. - So it's not as...

- We never pay full price for coffee.

- Not as bad, but if you're gonna get it

normally it's gonna be nine dollars a bag.

- Mmm hmmm.

- Our thoughts on this - Mmm hmmm.

- Are... - Yeah.

- As follows.

- So to me,

it's bitter

and burnt tasting.

- Yep.

Not burnt chocolate either.

- No no, not the pleasant kind of burned

or kind of bitter.

- Right. - There's some bitterness

sometimes like in Pete's Coffee and stuff

that's kind of nice but... - Mmm hmmm.

- This is just kind of burnt and bitter

- Yeah. - And I don't really enjoy it

at all.

- And on the bag it says to use two tablespoons

full per six fluid ounces

- Mmm hmmm. - Of water.

We did that the first time we drank it

and it was not as good as even

this with one and a half

- Yeah. - Tablespoons per

six fluid ounce cup.

- Yeah.

- So we made it a little better

by reducing the amount of coffee

- Right. - we put into the cup,

but it's still - Yeah.

- Is not to our liking.

- Yeah, yeah.

- Especially at that price.

- Yeah, at that price.

- Well, even then,

even if it was less I wouldn't

- Yeah. - I don't think I would.

- Yeah, even if it was less

I'd be like no thanks.

It's not one I want to buy again.

Donut rating on this?

Two and a half?

- Yeah, maybe a two and a half.

- Yeah, I mean,

cause I feel like as you get further in the cup

it's like meh - Yeah.

- Some of the burnt taste kinda goes away.

- And you may be able to adjust the amount

to kind of help with it,

but so yeah, two and a half donuts.

Well, as we found,

and as other people commented,

Starbucks coffees typically have a

burnt kind of over-done flavor.

- Over roasted.

- Over roasted.

- I just made that up.

- Yeah.

But if you feel the same way,

or you feel differently,

reply to us in a positive manner

on how you feel differently.

- Yeah.

- And thanks for joining us.

And until next time.

- Keep drinking.

- [Man] Hey, thanks for watching our reviews.

Making coffee in Costa Rica!! Vlog 6 - La Fortuna - Duration: 11:32.

Hey there friends and travelers, Brooke here!

Today, I'm taking you to La Fortuna!

We are taking a tour of the North Field's Coffee Plantation, located just outside of

the heart of downtown, La Fortuna.

Again, that's where the Arenal volcano is, where the beautiful lake is, where there's

tons of hot springs.

This is one of the things that you guys can do while you're there.

I learned so much about the coffee and how it's grown, so let's go ahead and get started!

Our guide today is David, he's very informative about the whole tour.

The North Field's coffee tour is an organic farm.

Here, they start the seeds off by planting them in these recycled tires.

We'll put them in some nutrient rich dark soil.

Many times coffee plants are planted in pairs, this will ensure that if one of the plants

die, the other will hopefully survive.

After about a year, it's ready to be transplanted into the ground.

Here in this coffee plantation, there are about 400 different coffee plants!

These coffee plants can live anywhere from 30-40 years, if they are cared for well.

One of the things that is talked about a lot is shade-grown coffee.

Back in the day, ancient farmers used to utilize crop rotation.

This was for a few different reasons:

1. They could have different crops harvesting at different times of the year in order to

ensure food and profit throughout the whole year and

2. As the time went on, they saw that harvesting all these plants together made a great ecosystem

that would benefit all of these different plants.

Coffee plants many times grew in the shade of huge palm trees, plantain trees, they had

guava trees, avocado trees, oak trees, there was also yucca trees, and all of these different

trees provided lots of, not only shade for the coffee, but it also provided a wonderful

ecosystem for all of the plants in the area.

All of the plants would enhance the flavor of the coffee via the Earth and their roots

and via cross pollination.

It was actually a better product for everyone in the long run.

Also, with a better ecosystem, there were more animals that would come in and hence

the animals, such as insectivorous birds, would feast on the insects that would live

in the little plants and coffee berries, it was great all around.

This is where the term shade-grown coffee actually came from.

When coffee is in full sun, they ripen quicker and get a bigger yield, however since there's

only coffee trees there, there tends to be more insects, and with these insects comes

pests and of course the farmers don't like this, so they'll often use pesticides and

fertilizers in sun grown coffee.

The coffee berries are ready to pick when they turn red.

Many times these are called cherries.

The coffee beans are actually little seeds inside each of these coffee berries.

In learning more about coffee, I've learned that there are two different types of coffee:

1. Arabica

2. Robusta

Arabica actually matures faster and it has a better body and flavor, while Robusta tends

to be more bitter, although it does have 40-50% more caffeine, which is why it's preferred

in Italian espresso making and it provides a better head/foam to make the crema, which

is famous in Italian espresso.

Here in Costa Rica, they only produce Arabica coffee on a commercial level, this is for

a few different reasons:

1. More uniformity in the product

2. It has a better flavor

There are many different strains of Arabica coffee. One is called "Typical" or as the

ticos say "típico" and these típico plants can grow sometimes up to 6 meters tall, or

about 18-20 ft.

As the ticos are little short people, the actually prefer to not grow the típico plants

because with one hand they have to grab the tree and pull it over and with the other hand

they'll pick the berries, which makes picking the berries so much harder because the tree

is so tall!

Here in Costa Rica, most of the coffee is picked by hand.

The workers will have these baskets that are called "cajuelas".

The fastest picker can pick about 20 of these baskets in a day, and then the owner pays

them a salary of $2 per basket, so the most that someone could make picking coffee is

$40/day.

That's the most....unless you're superfast!

After the coffee is picked off of the tree, there are different methods for drying.

One of the methods consists of laying all of the beans out in the sun to air dry.

This usually takes between 2-3 weeks depending on the humidity of the area.

Also, there's another method, that's actually more of a fermentation process, similar to

the cacao bean, but many times the beans are dried outside in the sun.

From here, there are a couple of different ways of doing it, on a large commercial scale,

many times they put them into a huge machine, to separate the coffee parchment paper on

the outside from the actual bean.

Here we see how the ancient farmers did it, putting it into a "peeling" just like we saw

in the cacao tour, and using the wooden instrument, to pound those beans, so that they can separate

it from that silver parchment paper that's just on the outside of those beans.

Afterwards, again it's the same process of winnowing, or blowing an air current, this

will separate the coffee bean from the coffee seed paper, or that parchment paper, that's

coating that seed.

This outside parchment paper is actually what protects the seed, so you have to take that

off for the roasting process.

After the beans have had their parchment paper taken off, the best beans are actually picked

to be roasted.

In the olden days, actually the grandmothers were the ones selected to pick out the best

beans.

Now I would say that the people said "But grandma, nobody does it better than you!"

But really they didn't want to do it, who knows if that's true or not.

As you can see, the beans here are mixed in with some other bad beans.

Usually in every coffee cherry there are two seeds, or two coffee beans, but sometimes

there's only one, and the other one isn't good.

So you're going to go ahead and take out all of those bad beans that were never really

beans, they almost look like little rocks.

After this process, the beans are now ready for roasting.

As you can see, this is a more artisan way to roast.

Now of course there are different kinds of roasts, there's a light roast, a medium roast,

and a dark roast.

The longer that you roast coffee, the less caffeine it has, dark roast will have less

caffeine than a medium roast.

Here we can actually see the coffee oil that's heated up inside the beans!

Check it out!

After the beans are roasted, it's time to winnow them again.

Here we can see they're using a fan.

According to the experts, they say the perfect roast of a good quality coffee is a medium

roast.

I, myself prefer dark roast, however I was informed that dark roast is actually the burning

of the bean, which makes it a little more bitter and makes it lose a little bit of flavor,

and besides the point of not having as much caffeine as the medium roast!

C'mon when we wake up in the morning we want as much caffeine as possible!

They actually told me that many times when there's a poor quality of coffee, a lot of

the times it dark roasted to mask the flavor that's actually not very good.

Now before we can head off to make ourselves a cup of coffee they had one more surprise

for me!

Here David takes a sugar cane and puts it through something that's called a "trapiche",

or a machine that is specifically designed to get the sugar water out of the sugar cane.

Fresh sugarcane water, from the plant.

Wow!

Oh, it's so good!

It's amazing!

It's like a sugary, again kind of grassy, but just like the best sugar water you've

ever tasted!

I'm never leaving, I'm never leaving!

Here in Costa Rica this is a very very typical way of making coffee.

Have the water come almost to boiling and then they'll slowly put that water in and

it makes a really really nice coffee.

Experts say that the optimal temperature of the water is about 96 degrees celsius (204.8F).

Something else I found really interesting, was how they actually came up with the idea

of coffee!

Well, historians say that in Ethiopia, there was a goat herder, who was minding his own

business, out herding his goats, and all the sudden he sees his goats eating from a plant

and then he saw them jumping up and down and realized that they were full of energy.

He thought to himself 'I wonder what this plant is?'.

So he started by making a tea from the leaves and the berries of the tree, but he didn't

like it.

Then eventually he took the beans from inside the fruit and roasted them to give them more

flavor and then made a tea out of that and he noticed that it gave him a ton of energy!

He eventually shared it with the rest of the world and they actually made him a saint because of it!

Coffee has a very long and interesting history.

As a side note, coffee was actually contraband in a lot of countries!

I think it had something to do with religion, but you guys can look it up if you're interested.

Oh yeah!

So this is coffee with goats milk and fresh sugarcane.

Oh my God, my first sip!

It's delicious!

It's not a taste that I'm used to...it tastes very...fresh I guess is the word.

It has a smooth taste, a little smokey, I can't describe it, it's just kind of smokey,

like you can taste the roasting process.

The quality is great!

Thank you so much!

Muchas gracias para el tour que me encantó, I loved it!

The coffee is wonderful!

Thank you so much - You're very welcome!

Thank you so much...doña, encantada, nice to meet you, and thank you so much!

10 Ways To Wake Up Without A Cup Of Coffee - Duration: 4:57.

10 Ways To Wake Up Without A Cup Of Coffee

Coffee is fantastic.

More than half of adults in the U.S. think so, drinking a cup of the stuff every day.

The habit has been shown to lower the risk for diabetes, depression and some cancers.

While many of us count on a cup to wake us up in the morning, drinking coffee isn't

the only way to energize yourself for the day ahead.

Whether you're trying to cut back on your coffee consumption or have never been able

to warm up to the beverage's bitter taste, check out the 10 other things that can invigorate

your sleepy mornings.

Try Some Uplifting Stretches The move pictured is called "fish pose"

— lie flat on your back and bring your hands underneath your hips.

Then, lift your chest above your shoulders and stretch your head back slowly.

Fish pose is just one yogic move that stimulates the body — check out this list of 10 poses

to fight fatigue for some more.

Chomp On An Apple

Taking a bite of this energizing fruit is a delicious way to jolt your body into gear.

Apples contain natural sugars and other carbohydrates that can help stabilize your blood sugar.

Other fruits, like bananas and oranges, will do the same.

Pair a fruit with a protein, like a serving of Greek yogurt, for sustained satiety.

Roll Out Of Bed And Work Out Heading outside for a morning run may be the

last thing you want to do while comfy under warm covers, but lacing up your sneaks in

the a.m. has been shown to boost your mood and energy levels.

Exercise releases endorphins that'll make you feel good and more prepared for the day.

You don't have to go on a five-mile run to reap these benefits.

Try something like the seven-minute workout (which takes about the same amount of time

it'd take to brew and drink a cup of coffee) and earn yourself a jolt.

Get Some Fresh Air And Sunlight If you're really not down for a morning

workout, consider going for a gentle stroll for your boost.

The proverbial "breath of fresh air" has been shown to reduce feelings of stress and

fatigue.

Getting a dose of morning sun is linked with better mood and lower BMI — a double-win.

Take A Cold Shower Yes, it's miserable (but you will get used

to it if you turn it into a habit), but the instant change in temperature can actually

relieve stress and make you feel more alert.

If the idea is too much (or too cold) for you, start simple by splashing your face with

some cool water.

It'll have similar stress-relieving powers.

Pour Yourself A Very Cold Glass Of Water

Still feeling temperature shy?

Compromise by drinking a cup of ice water first thing in the morning.

Like the shower, it'll trigger your adrenaline and boost blood flow to your brain.

Try Tea If you enjoy the ritual of sipping something

warm in the morning, swap your cup of coffee for tea.

The drink still contains caffeine (though considerably less) for a little buzz, as well

as many other benefits, including strengthening the immune system and lowering blood pressure.

Call Mom

Chatting up anyone with whom you feel a close personal connection can help charge you up.

But Mom may be best at it.

She may have been the one to holler your name during the days you slept on a bunk bed, and

she still might be the one to pull you from your groggy state.

Research suggests merely phoning your dear mother could help decrease feelings of stress.

Give Yourself A Massage One study found that performing a little acupressure

could assist in providing a bit of energy.

As HuffPost reported in 2013: The study had volunteers stimulate five pressure

points on the body for three minutes each: the top of the head, the point between your

thumb and index finger, right below the center of the knee cap, below the ball of the foot

and the base of your neck.

Make Morning Its Own Soundtrack Craft yourself an a.m. playlist packed with

your favorite energizing tunes and listen to it while you're getting ready in the

morning.

It'll help jazz you up.

∆H via Coffee Cup Calorimetry Data - Duration: 4:39.

One can calculate the change in enthalpy from coffee cup calorimetry data.

This is because the coffee cup calorimeter is open to the atmosphere.

So the heat flow is occurring at constant pressure.

And by definition, change in enthalpy equals heat flow

at constant pressure so to determine the change in enthalpy

from the coffee cup calorimeter data,

you simply need to measure the heat absorbed by the surrounding

solution.

Let's take a look at an example.

A 100 milliliter aqueous solution containing 0.05 mols of

sodium hydroxide is mixed with a 100 milliliter aqueous solution

containing 0.05 mols of hydrochloric acid in a

coffee cup calorimeter.

The initial temperature of both solutions was 22.4 degrees Celsius

and the final temperature upon the completion of the

neutralization reaction was 25.76 degrees Celsius.

Now, you can assume that the density of the solution is the same

as water which is 1 gram per milliliter and that the

heat capacity is also the same as water, 4.184 Joules per gram

per degree Celsius.

From there, you can calculate the amount of heat released upon

the chemical change.

After that, we can normalize the data to calculate the change

in enthalpy for the reaction.

The first thing you want to do is just think about what's going on.

And so you have a coffee cup calorimeter.

You pour in 100 milliliters of this sodium hydroxide solution

and then you pour in 100 milliliters of the hydrochloric acid solution.

The reaction runs and the change in temperature is equal to

the final 25.76 minus the initial which is 22.40 which equals

3.36 degrees Celsius.

The total solution now is 200 milliliters so the heat released

by the system, the neutralization reaction,

is absorbed by the surroundings which is the 200 milliliters of solution.

So we can calculate the heat of the surroundings

for the solution by multiplying the total mass of the solution

or amount of water times the heat capacity of water

times the change in temperature in this case.

So the total mass of course since the density is one

is 200 grams of water times the heat capacity of water

which is 4.184 Joules per gram per degree Celsius

times the change in temperature here which was 3.36 degrees Celsius.

This equals 2.81 times 10^3 Joules.

This is the heat absorbed by the surroundings.

We can express this easier in kiloJoules,

so that's 2.31 kiloJoules.

Now, the absorbed by the surroundings is equal

to the heat released by the system so the heat released

by the system, the chemical change here is negative 2.31 kiloJoules.

Now it's time to normalize for the change in enthalpy

for this chemical change.

We look at the chemistry, sodium hydroxide in solution

plus hydrochloric acid in solution yields sodium chloride

in the solution plus water.

We started with 0.05 mols of each of the reactants.

Since they react in a 1 to 1 mol ratio, they react away

completely to give us 0.05 mols of sodium chloride.

So if we want to normalize per mol reaction,

we can recognize that the 2.31 kiloJoules of heat released

was released for 0.05 mols of the reacted sodium hydroxide

and for every one mol reaction that we run,

we react away one mole of sodium hydroxide.

So we can normalize for this reaction in general that the change in enthalpy

for this reaction is equal to negative 56.2 kiloJoules per mol reaction.
