Auto news on Youtube Nov 14 2018

so I want to talk about a subject that it's going to come up when it comes to

inventing and that is money where are you going to get the money to fund your

product and notice I didn't say to fund your idea because remember ideas have no

value what we're looking to do is turn our idea into a reality

and that's gonna cost money interestingly enough even after all

these videos I've been making somebody asked me in the comments why they

couldn't just take their 3d model show it to people and get money now maybe he

hasn't been paying attention to the way the real world works here in the real

world nobody's gonna pay you anything for a 3d model or even a prototype and I

think that's where people get a little bit confused remember when you're

talking about your invention you're actually talking about making people

believe in you they're not really investing in your idea or your product

they're investing in your ability to follow through and I think a lot of

people miss this point they get so wrapped up in their idea that they think

people are just gonna hand them money because hey maybe it will change the

world but guess what people still aren't going

to invest because they need to know that if they give you their hard-earned money

that you're gonna follow through and be able to sell the product to return their

investment sometimes inventors don't want to hear it affect that if you're

gonna take money from people you're gonna have to figure out how to pay them

back it doesn't matter if it's a loan or an investment in your company an idea

you still have to have a plan to pay them back or you're never going to get

any investors now this video is going to be talking about a couple of things

there's many different ways to get investors one is to sell finance which

is the way I always recommend it because in the past I have gotten large

investments for some of my business and my product ideas and it doesn't

always go as planned it doesn't even mean that your products

going to fail and things are gonna go wrong that way your product could be a

huge success and you still run the risk of investors getting greedy as they see

you trying to grow your company because you got to think of it this way you're

passionate about taking all the money you're making and growing the company

hiring more employees building an infrastructure whatever it takes to

build up your business but investors might only be interested in the cash

that they gave you and getting a profit for that investment so you're gonna have

to weigh both things are you going to grow the company or are you going to

keep your investors happy and that's why for me I've learned I honestly just sell

finance now it's easy for me to say because I've been doing this long enough

we're investing in products is sort of built in to my business model but when

you're first starting out I know that can be a problem but keep this in mind

and I've talked about this in previous videos I really don't want you to spend

more than you can afford to create your first product it's a

learning experience you should be out there defining markets and finding

simple products that you can build and sell on the Internet

I've done it so can you I've made expensive products and I've made cheap

products it just depends on the market and what I feel like doing at the time

but for you guys starting out I want you to stay below that maybe $5,000

investment maybe 2,500 and I'm not kidding you can do it and you can make a

lot of money with just a few thousand dollar investment now knowing the

demographics of this channel I know that even twenty five hundred may be a lot of

money but the next time you're thinking of buying a Playstation or a new video

game think about putting that money aside and holding off and using it for

your invention idea because really you're going to need 3d prints for your

prototype you're going to need all kinds of other pieces along the way that

you're not going to be able to get for free you're gonna have to pay for them

somehow so back to this issue of why can't I just make it through

Reidy model and show it to people and get money well because you don't have a

business plan and that's why nobody's gonna give you money it's not the 3d

model that's a problem it's the implementation of your idea and the plan

to start selling it that is what's going to attract investors that's when you're

gonna start believing in you they're not gonna believe in you if all you have is

a 3d model so you could talk about it and show how enthusiastic you are you

know with the idea and how great of an idea is and how it's gonna just be in

every household none of that matters because if you don't have a plan to get

it in front of all the people that are potential customers how do you think

you're going to sell it how do you think the investors are going to get their

money back you need a plan so there's a couple of ways like I said self

financing would be the first which is the one I recommend but then there may

be people out there to have a product that's a little more expensive now

unless you have been machining and designing electronics and building molds

and all that stuff which I'm sure there's some people out there they have

those skills already I don't recommend this next level because you have to have

a lot of experience behind you as a product designer there are just so many

different steps so many different materials so many different processes

equipment fulfillment issues it just goes on and on and on that you need to

learn when you get to this next higher level and if you've never even made a

hundred products and shipped them from your house you're not gonna know how all

this stuff works and you're gonna be risking a lot more money but if you're

at that point where maybe your investment is 75 100 150 thousand

dollars to get started because maybe it's an electronic circuit board it

needs injection molds for the cases the boxes it's a retail product so maybe it

has to be packaged like you know Apple products and all the other electronic

stuff today and that can all get very expensive so yes it's very easy to get

up to 150 200 250 thousand in the beginning if this is your first

one I would try to stay less than 75 but it depends on what your tolerance level

is so how are you gonna raise this money if you don't have it yourself you can

sell finance and use a credit card but that can get really expensive you'll

actually have to use a couple credit cards if we're talking over seventy five

thousand dollars you could get a second out on your mortgage the again these are

things that I really don't recommend if you've never done this before because

this is where it gets risky and there's no guarantee that you're going to

succeed I could make about ten videos on all my failures so just keep that in

mind there's another couple of things you can do here one would be called a

family and friends round there's a really good video here on YouTube about

the founder of Alibaba and he needed $50,000 to start and what he did it he

got 13 family and friends to make small investments of a few thousand dollars

each now he was in China which I imagine it means that he got labour cheap

because he then took that $50,000 and ran a business for a year before he was

able to even get his first customer nobody believed in the idea and as we

all know they just had their largest day where they made something like what was

it a billion dollars in eight minutes or something and the day turned out to be

thirty billion dollars just because people don't believe in your idea we all

know that shouldn't stop you because nobody knows better than you what the

path to success is and you can do it but family and friends would be the second

round and that's probably the safest bet if you get small investments from a few

people that way if it's only a few thousand dollars each you you're not

gonna really upset anybody especially if you try and keep them informed along the

way now at this level too you can talk about crowdfunding Kickstarter and

IndieGoGo but a word of warning with this which I don't mention in the other

videos those websites have become sort of saturated and they really don't

attract the interest from news and other places to generate enough

traffic for you so if you're going to do one of those projects on Kickstarter or

other crowdfunding sites you're gonna need your own marketing campaign and

trust me there are so many scammers out there trying to take money from you you

could wind up giving away or throwing away all your money before you even

start your project and then when the project is a success you may not have

anything left because of all your advertising money that was spent so be

careful even with Kickstarter and other crowdfunding sites it can be risky

nowadays gone are the days where you put something up there and it just goes

viral you need a huge following that's one of the reasons I don't do it anymore

honestly I can do my own promotions and it's not worth the hassle

the Kickstarter crowd is not the crowd it used to be either they're not as

willing to work with you and be nice to you if you take longer because they

think it's like Amazon where the product should be there within a week but it is

a good Avenue if you're willing to put into time and work hard at it but it's

not your only option the last and final way to raise money would be called

venture capital now I could tell you that I tried this in the beginning and I

even had working prototypes and was ready to go I met with a few venture

capital companies and few investment banks things like that

they offered me two million dollars for my original track stick for 80% of the

company now keep in mind I had already built and designed the product had the

working software the molds were almost completed and we were ready to go for

sales and they wanted me to give up 80% of my company

now for some of you that may be an option if you have a product that

requires a really large infrastructure and a growth potential of millions and

millions of dollars it may be worth your while but I will

tell you that you're going to need people that are experienced at raising

venture capital and you're going to have to have what

an exit strategy which means you're gonna have to be prepared to have your

company sold and lose control of everything

and that also means that if you don't perform there's a very good chance that

you won't even be running your company in a very short time so when you give up

80% of your company to other people you give up pretty much all control and you

spend your days fighting with boards and other employees such as CFOs and you may

not even be the CEO at that point so you'll be fighting with him or her or

whoever else is in charge of you and your boss another thing I might add

about my opinion of venture capital yes there have been a few product companies

that have been bought out by large corporations publicly trade at Facebook

Apple and all that but that is a game that those companies play they are not

really product companies and while you are able to make millions of dollars if

everything works out ok I'm not sure it's worth the stress if you're just

looking to invent a product you may want to set your sights up much lower in the

beginning because for a small investment you could find yourself making millions

of dollars without all the added headache so this is something to think

about when you're looking for investors you're looking for venture capital

family and friends self-financing these are all the options that are available

to you some of them will get you started right away and some of them could take

you years to pursue so that's another issue if your product is a technology

product that has a short run lifespan venture capital and that long tail

strategy may not be good for you because the product could be obsolete before you

ever make any money I hope you take these options seriously and decide what

the best path is for you if you're not sure what the best path is you may want

to talk to your accountant and see what he suggests the funny thing is here my

accountant regret it for a long time that she wasn't the one

invested in my first big product when I was talking to her about venture capital

so you'd be surprised who was really interested in what you do

How to Get Ungated in Restricted Categories on Amazon FBA - Duration: 10:44.

What is going on YouTube?

Taylor Dunn coming at you from OACheddar.com

And in today's video I want to talk to you

about gated categories on Amazon.

And specifically, how do you approach

getting yourself ungated for those categories.

Real quick, before I dive into the video,

if you like this video, just the

normal stuff, give it a thumbs up.

If you wanna know more about us or

get more free content, subscribe to the channel.

And if you want more about who

OACheddar.com is, links to our free

Facebook group are in the description.

Check us out.

It's pretty awesome, pretty sweet.

Alright, so, gated categories on Amazon.

What is that?

So, Amazon will restrict sellers

from selling in certain categories

and restrict certain in brands or even certain products.

And the reason for this is because

Amazon wants to protect it's brand.

They want to make sure that you as a seller

are going to able to fulfill your end of the bargain.

You're going to be able to sell authentic

items that are in great or perfect condition.

They also want to make sure that everything

that you promise is being delivered to their customer.

They are, if anything, Amazon's number

one goal isn't about us as sellers.

Their big thing is they wanna protect their customers.

They want to make sure their customers are happy.

And so, gated categories are a way to insure

that people who selling on Amazon are good sellers.

For example, Nike.

A new seller is not going to be able

to just walk in on Amazon and be able

and just start selling Nike products.

It's going to take a little bit of time

to, I guess, prove yourself to Amazon

that you are a seller that sells

authentic goods and you do a good job being a seller.

So, if you want to know more about what categories

are automatically restricted to a new seller

or anything like that, just Google

restricted Amazon or gated Amazon categories

and it will take you to seller central.

And it will look something like this

and it will talk more about what products

are gated or what categories are gated right off the bat.

What I want to talk to about is

when you come across a gated product, how do you proceed?

So, I have an example actually right up here.

If you go to the add a product page

and you put your assn in like so

and I'm looking at this Gillette razor pack.

You may get a response that looks something like this.

First, you have your product with

all your information and like normal.

And down here, were it would normally

say list yours or sell yours.

You will get, sometimes you'll get

this button that says request approval.

Others times you might get it where

it says you are not approved to list this product.

And that they are not currently accepting any

more applications at this time.

That is a bummer when it happens

but there are ways that you can

or steps that you can take to help reduce

the amount of times Amazon is going

to restrict you on a product or in a certain category.

And there also are tips and ways that you

get yourself ungated in a whole category.

But if you see this right here, you're kind of stuck.

You're not going to be able to apply

to get ungated in that category.

There's really nothing you can do.

The other option is, like here,

where it says request approval, you can select that button.

Now I done already went ahead and did this

and I actually got approved.

So if you hit request approval

and you get this screen right here

or it where it says that your selling

yeah, you are now approved to sell this certain brand.

Great, you're done!

I did this with Gillette because

in the past we we've actually been

restricted on selling Gillette products.

To my surprise, actually, I hit request approval

and now I am approved to sell the Gillette brand.

Which is fantastic!

So, if you find a product you are restricted on

but yet you can request approval, do it.

You may be surprised to find that

you're automatically going to

be ungated for maybe certain categories.

If you hit the request approval button

and you get a screen where it's

asking for an invoice from your supplier

or distributor and wants a whole bunch of information.

What that means is Amazon wants you

to provide them with invoices and information

proving that you're buying this from a reputable supplier.

Now, store receipts, normally if not always do not work.

So, I can't bring my receipt from Walmart

and say, well look it, I bought

all these Gillette things from Walmart.

They're not going to accept that.

What they want to see, they wanna see an

invoice from a well known supplier.

Somebody that they can view.

Amazon can go and do research on.

That is a legitimate distributor of that product

or the actual company themselves.

Which can be extremely difficult to do

when you are doing the retail albatross

and online albatross model, like so many of us do.

So what do you do as a new seller?

Well, there are a couple of things you can do.

You can, and the big one, that a lot of folks do

they hire an ungating service.

So, you can Google Amazon ungating service.

And you will pop up with tons of different

options you can explore yourself.

There's not a certain one that

I'm going to recommend over another.

It's been quite while since we have

been selling on Amazon for a while

that we've had to get ungated in categories.

So, I'm not going to recommend one

but you can just Google it and take a look.

There's also review sites that go over all that information.

Or another way is that you join

a Facebook group such as the OA

Cheddar Facebook group that we have here.

And you can get to be apart of a community

and you can just ask other Amazon sellers.

And then you just gather their information

their referrals and their recommendations

and you can make that decision yourself.

Who should I, who should I go for?

Normally when you have an ungated service.

And I'm just going to open up these guys right here.

Shout out to The Funnel Guru dot com.

No idea whether or not you're a good service or not.

But I'm going to use you as an example.

If you are going to use an Amazon gate

service, normally you can find that they have like a menu.

So they actually have all their different

categories and sub categories

that they can get you ungated in

and it will have the prices for

each one of those services linked right next to it.

So, you have a pretty good idea how much this should cost.

It should cost from anywhere from a few hundred

to maybe a thousand dollars to

get ungated in most categories.

So, that is another way that you can get ungated

is by going through and actually hiring a

service to go an get ungated for you.

An a lot of folks have success with that.

I will say though that what we've come to find

from our team and our coaching program

where we deal with a lot of new

time sellers and folks who started out

selling on Amazon, by the time they

were done with there coaching

program were often doing very well.

A lot of folks, what they did is,

or what we've determined, I guess,

are the three main things affect gated categories

is how long have you been selling on Amazon?

How much have you sold on Amazon?

And how well did you sell on Amazon?

So, how much obviously, you wanna be able to show

that your store sells at high volume

amount of products and that you're

always constantly sending in more inventory and selling it.

So that's a big one.

How well do you sell on Amazon?

That's going to be your seller rating.

Seller rating is extremely important.

You want to keep yourself up to

a perfect or as close as you can, to a

perfect seller rating as possible.

So maybe going in and maybe getting

some negative feedback removed.

Or just gaining, just takes time maybe.

Maybe just having a good rating

will affect whether or not you can

automatically get approved in certain categories.

And then, I would hit up how much

and how well and then how long.

Sometimes it's just a time game.

Sometimes Amazon just wants to see you

when you're first starting out

that you've been selling for maybe

a year or two years before they're

automatically get you approved in a certain category.

Sometimes it just really goes along with what

we found is it just comes with the season.

Sometimes there just certain times where

it's easier to sell or get ungated

in certain brands and categories and sometimes not.

For example, I'm shooting this video.

It's the twenty-sixth of September right now.

We're leading into the Q four and the Christmas time

and I know that toys are going to be

a category that is going to be difficult

for brand new sellers to jump in

and start selling for Christmas.

So, Amazon is going to restrict

a lot of folks in the toy and

game category for this Christmas season.

After Christmas season, it open wide up.

So, there's really no sure fire way

say hey, A, one, two, three, this

is how you're going to get ungated.

There's multiple ways you can approach it.

As a retail albatross-er or an online albatross-er

having to usually paid to get ungated

from another company is usually the easiest way to get done.

If you are dabbling into the whole sale market

and you actually do have a supplier,

a reputable supplier or distributor

that you can actually get an invoice

that is going to be your easiest way to get through it.

If it's a private labeler, again, there

is a whole bunch of stuff when you're

making your own products and how that affects.

If you want to know more information

actually me and my brother are granted

a great interview call with Nick Carter.

He is a member of the OA Cheddar family.

And in that call, he talks about how

in eight months he started on Amazon

and got himself up to doing roughly about

twenty to twenty-two thousand dollars

a month in sales and how he did that.

We talk a lot about gated and how he was able to get around

the gated categories and get ungated

in a lot of the categories and brands

that a lot of new sellers have

trouble getting approved to sell in.

So, if you want, I strongly advise

you check out that video from Nick Carter.

It's actually our Cheddar t.v. tube video.

So, take a look at our channel.

You'll find that video pretty easy to find.

you should have 80% of it is branding and value okay and 20% of its pitchy and

that promotes your sales and promotes the opportunity promotes business so you How to Get More Clients as a Travel Agent

want an overall and the big main goal is give value because this is what this is

what's going to build trust this leads into tip to build trust and authority

online okay in order to fool in order to get people to know like and trust you

you have to build a credible audience you have to build some credibility and

the best way to do that is to give value give value to your marketplace give

value to your niche and give them tips training information people love

information give this build a community builder engaging audience and over time

people begin to know like and trust you and it'd be a whole lot easier to get

sales get people into your opportunity and so on and so on so starting out you

starting out in the cold market you don't have to give a lot of value that's

just the bottom line of it don't expect sales right away but get in get busy get

value give tricks give trainings give people everything they need to travel

better or help them in their travel business

because you got a lot of people that maybe one to join travel industry

whatever the case may be give them some information that can help them make

their decision a little bit easier however if you got people to look into How to Get More Clients as a Travel Agent

book travel looking for travel agents give them information so just give value

first and do less pitching and give more value or less pitching nothing there's

nothing wrong with pitching your business just have a more value over the

pitching part I say eighty twenty eight percent value 20 percent pitching your

business okay number three pick one social media platform okay to bring

yourself own don't try to go around and pick Facebook picked you to pick

Instagram no just pick one focused and master that strategy okay master that

strategy before you move on to another strategy for example my main strategies

YouTube okay master YouTube before you go on to another strategy and then you

can no branch out and do other stuff but master one strategy build your authority

up on in the traffic niche become that go-to person give value give value the

more value you give in exchange you will get back in return

okay so always primary focus is to give value how can I help somebody today okay

and number four marketing yourself okay even though you provide value on for

example YouTube whatever your whatever your social platform maybe you want know

how to market that to get your value your content seen so if you did a video

even though you up you upload it you posted it but you want to be able to get

it seen okay you need to know how to market okay because you can have the

best content in the world but if you'll know how to market it and get it seen no

one will ever find it no one will ever see your valuable information so okay

brand yourself and market that information and put it into the right

people okay this is how you gonna stand out from the crowd

branding and marketing ok brand yourself has to go to person in the travel niche

and market yourself to get your content seen and a couple ways you can do this

tip number five a way you can market your

for example YouTube videos what I'd like to do is rank my YouTube videos on the

first page of Google Keyword research okay well I may not be familiar with it

a lot of y'all maybe but that's people actually typing in certain search query

searches how to become a travel agent or how to book this certain type of cruise

or whatever whatever your end goal is if you want to recruit people to your

travel business and build a team you should be targeting keywords based upon

okay people's looking to become travel agents if you want to generate travel

sales target people who's looking to find travel deals online and you be that

go-to person so create your content and get it seen create the content marketing

and get it seen so I'm not gonna go to much it excuse me and depth about it

there's a lot of lot to it for its marketing but I just want to give you

some insight just had to kind of get those creative juices flowing from your

travel business so if you find these tips valuable feel free to comment make

How to Get Rid of Drain Flies - Drain Fly Kit with Drain Gel | DoMyOwn.com - Duration: 2:55.

Small flies lingering around your kitchen sink and bathroom drains are likely drain

flies.

Drain flies breed in the organic matter that builds up in drains, then fly into rooms as

adults, often in kitchens and bathrooms.

DoMyOwn has created a drain fly kit to help you combat the presence of these tiny flies

and control the organic debris they breed in.

By combining a drain gel, an aerosol insecticide space spray, and glue boards into one easy

to use kit, you will get rid of drain flies and be able get the problem under control.

The aerosol insecticide space spray will knockdown adult drain flies around a room.

Before you use the space spray, close all doors and windows in the room, store food,

utensils, and pet bowls in air tight containers, preferably out of the room, and remove all

pets and children from the room.

Then, remove the cap off the can, spray the aerosol in the middle of the room for 2-3

seconds per 1,000 cubic feet, and leave the room.

Allow the spray to settle at least 15 minutes before re-entering the room.

You should see dead drain flies upon re-entry.

Open doors and windows in the room and sweep dead drain flies into the trash.

Read the label on your aerosol to determine how long the product should be sprayed and

how long you should wait before you re-enter the room.

If you have drain flies in your kitchen, they are most likely coming from the kitchen sink

drain.

Sinks with two drains may have drain flies in one drain or both.

To determine which drain the flies are emerging from, place a glue board over both drains

overnight.

In the morning, check both glue boards to determine which drain has flies.

Treat only the drains with evidence of flies.

When using the glue boards, bend the boards slightly to create a small tent over the drain.

This will prevent the boards from sticking to sink.

You can reuse glue boards night after night, just be sure to circle any flies caught on

previous nights with a marker.

This will help you see if there is a reduction in flies over time.

To treat a drain for drain flies, wait until everyone in the household is done using the

kitchen for the night, then clean and dry your sink to remove any water or food crumbs.

Pour drain fly gel down the sink, using the amount recommended on the label of your gel.

Make sure you coat the sides of the drain well and run the garbage disposal for a few

seconds while pouring the gel if you have one.

Do not run water or rinse the sink after pouring in the gel until the next morning.

Leave the gel overnight, then use your sink as normal the next day.

Use glue boards over the drain to catch drain flies escaping the drain at night.

Repeat the gel treatments nightly for as long as it takes to get rid of the flies, usually

at least a week.

If drain flies have been spotted in the bathroom, perform the same nightly treatment in the

drain of the bathroom sink or tub, using a glue board to monitor the progression of the

treatment.

Once your drain fly problem has been resolved, use the gel once a month as a maintenance

treatment.

This is also smart idea for restaurants and commercial buildings where organic matter

builds inside drains fast.

And it's that easy with the expert help from DoMyOwn dot com.

How to Get More YouTube Views: Find The Missing Content Piece - Josh Speaks - Duration: 5:03.

- I saw that that piece was missing on YouTube--

- Oh awesome, so you were answering questions being asked

but not being answered by any particular

creator at the time-- - Right, right.

- [Man] VidIQ - [Woman] VidIQ

- [Man] VidIQ.com

- Hello everyone welcome back to VidCon 2018

and today we are with?

- [Josh] The Josh Speaks, on YouTube.

- [Interviewer] Hello Josh.

How many subscribers does your channel have

and what is your channel about?

- So I think I'm around 124,000 subscribers--

- Awesome, congratulations. - Thank you.

And my channel is I share advice for teenagers

on how to build confidence, mindfulness

and compassion in their day-to-day lives,

so communicating better with their peers,

learning to talk to their crushes

open up to their parents about how they're feeling,

things like that.

- I would say that you have a very good

elevator pitch for your channel.

So we're talking about target audience

and value proposition, when you first started

your channel did you have an idea what

your content was going to be about

or did it develop over the life of your channel so far?

- Yeah, in the very beginning I didn't

really have the focus that I do now,

it was only through reading a lot of the comments

and seeing a lot of people asking questions

about, "how do I do this, how do I do that"

that I started to see,

and then I did a lot of research

seeing who are other creators talking to teenagers

and giving them the advice,

and I saw that that piece was missing on YouTube--

- Oh awesome, so you were answering questions being asked

but not being answered by any particular

creator at the time-- - Right, right.

There was a point I think around 2013 or 14

that that's when I start taking

my channel more seriously,

and that's when I started to focus

on a lot of the questions

how to talk to your crush,

how to message someone on Instagram, things like that.

From then I started to shape my message

to what it is now which is helping teens

learn how to be their best self.

- Would you say there was a light bulb

moment for your YouTube channel

or a particular video that there was a breakthrough

that helped you grow your channel

or was it more gradual over time?

- It's definitely been gradual.

I've had a few videos that are

kind of the key videos on my channel

and most of them are the dating topics.

Like Five Signs a Girl Likes You,

that's my number one video because

I think that's what everyone's looking for.

Signs of interest, communication, things like that.

- When we were looking at your channel

doing an actual live audit on VidIQ,

you had a lot of success two or three years ago

and now it's beginning to plateau

or the views are falling off,

how have you found the competition on YouTube recently

and how have you tried to not necessarily reinvent yourself

but make sure that you're still competing against

such a vast competition in YouTube these days?

- Yeah, I think, a lot of channels

that kind of make videos similar to mine,

there's a lot of, I think a lot more pizzazz,

a lot of them use more brighter colors

or just kinda like louder, more in-your-face personalities.

My approach is more kind of relaxed,

more like a best friend,

and let's have a conversation kind of approach.

So, I think that...

While they may capitalize on on the same content

we have different approaches,

so I just try to really focus in on

kind of developing a friendship with my audience

just really creating an opportunity

for them to kinda open up and communicate,

rather than just digesting information that I'm sharing

it's more, let's have a conversation about it.

- Another thing I notice on your channel

is that you've diversified.

You're not just a YouTube channel, you've written a book,

so tell me about how

you've reached out to people beyond YouTube.

- I think that the whole Gary Vaynerchuk strategy

the Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook,

I think that's kind of applied here where for years

I've been making these videos kind of sharing advice

and then eventually when I wrote the book

that was kinda my big hook that I took with my audience

and what's interesting is that

I communicate a lot one-on-one with

my audience on Snapchat and Instagram

and there's a very personal kind of relationship

that I have with them so when I wrote this book

because I have hundreds and hundreds of DMs there

it was easy to just shoot them a message

and say, "Hey guys, I wrote this book.

"I think that this chapter would be helpful for you."

Or, "you might like this piece of content

"that I wrote in there,"

so that was kind of my delivery strategy.

- One last question, if you were to give

a video creator one piece of advice right now

which would improve their channel today

what would it be?

- The way that I think I've grown

is still a strategy that I use today

and it still kinda helps me create more content.

It's that, the YouTube search bar,

I think is one of the best,

easiest tools to find content

that your audience is probably looking for

so if you start to type in how to do this

or what is this, the autofill options, I think

kinda show you what people are already looking for.

So that's a good way to kinda just

see what the autofill drop downs are,

click on there and then see how those videos rank.

What's the actual search like.

The VidIQ tool shows you the competition,

what's its ranking so from there

you can kind of get a sense of

what people are looking for

and what's needed there on the platform,

who's already done it and how

you can kinda come up with a different angle.

So that's kinda been my strategy and how I've grown

and what I've always done.

- Use the search bar to its full potential.

- Exactly.

- Awesome, thank you very much for your time Josh!

Bye for now.
