Auto news on Youtube Dec 1 2018

hey guys it's Cassie welcome to my channel if you're new welcome back to my

channel if you're a seasoned member of the 2102 crew I am

so excited because I've been writing down ideas for this ultimate luxury gift

guide everything is under five hundred dollars five hundred pounds for months

I've separated this into four categories we have a category for that person

that's extra I have for the girl that's always on trend for the person you don't

want to get wrong and then finally we have for the person who has everything

imma need you to stay until the end because you are honestly going to hear

things in this that you will not hear on any other luxury gift guide I promise

guys if you're new here my name is Cassie I'm a self-diagnosed luxury

addict tonight I put out videos on Wednesdays and Fridays so if you like

luxury fashion then you probably gonna like those too so head down there click

the subscribe button turn on the notification bell become a member of the

2102 crew okay let's start everything will be linked below okay we're going to

start off with the person who's extra I'm talking about the p-diddy of your

friend group I'm talking about the boujee one okay so we're gonna start off

with some boujee-ass bedroom slippers yes I actually have a pair to show you -

super old but these are the Versace bedroom slippers I like a plush terry

fabric like a toweling fabric I think these are a great luxurious purchase

people are gonna wear every single day in the house but they're just gonna feel

they're just gonna feel a little bit boujee in their household if this is

someone who travels a lot or just really enjoys their sleep or you know uses an

eye mask a boujeee eye mask yes they do exist this is a Versace eye mask yes

people look at me look at me on my travels look at that never a sweeter

sleep has been had like a novelty but it's cute the person's gonna use it just

boujee af it comes in this very cute pouch which can be repurposed for

something else the next thing is designer candles Gucci have a great

range of designer candles they're all scented they all have an amazing like

porcelain containers great thing about these is that once they've been

burnt out they can repurpose the containers for

whatever else they have a loads of different designs the other designer

that's come out with these recently is Louie Vuitton so they've come out with

these amazing like just very chic white candles there are four different

fragrances I just think that these are great gifts of somebody who is very into

their home next one is Louboutin makeup it's just boujee these Louboutin

lipsticks little Louboutin writing there on the top of it and it comes in this

amazing gold packaging so you feel like a Cleopatra you know oh it's just so

luxurious it's super heavy you feel like a queen using it so they have these

Louboutin lipsticks but they also happen to have just come out with a range of

like a liquid eye shadows so now I have the girl that's always on trend okay

she's always insta ready she's fashionable she's stylish this is what

you get for that person so starting off with slides okay so many different

designer brands do slides is that they're great if you're going on holiday

but also loads of people just wear them out and about next one is if you know

somebody is a hat person right they like they like to put on a little baseball

cap Gucci does some amazing baseball caps at the moment it's just like a very

typical item that you can get somebody that you know uses this you know value

luxury and everything else and just you know just just you know make a little

luxury just a little bit luxe the next one's gonna sound weird but

designer tights just a little bit of something extra it really gives another

edge to the outfit Gucci logo tights this is on my list I'm waiting

for somebody to buy these for me another good gift for somebody that's always on

trend is a designer phone case prada have a huge range of designer phone

cases that are not ridiculously priced because some of these luxury phone cases

can get pretty stupid Christmas is all about opulence is all about being

over-the-top sparkles festivities right so let's let's bring that to the

earrings let's bring that to the ear jewelry people why not

so Alessandra rich is basically the woman to go to at the moment for OTT

earrings and they are all clip-on so if you don't have ear holes ear holes

you're covered okay because they're clip-ons Miu Miu also do an amazing

selection if you want to get somebody earrings but you want to get something

luxury but not over-the-top something that they can wear every day then I

would highly recommend the Dior tribal studs I have the gold and silver

pair and honestly they are perfect for everyday they go with everything for the

third category the person you don't want to get wrong okay this is the person who

is hard to shop for the first thing is a classic scarf I am talking about the

classic Burberry check scarf it comes in so many different colors and there is

literally one for everyone these are 100% cashmere they're luxury they are

classic this is something that someone will use every single winter the next

thing is a card case so I just have the classic Louis Vuitton monogram card

case I've had this card case for years we all have a use for these okay there

are so many sodding loyalty cards and things to sign up for that you know

there's not enough space so a card case is something that will all always come

in handy Gucci do some really really great designs especially in the

Marmont if you know somebody loves that quilted Marmont look then the Gucci ones

are the way to go the next thing is pajamas that's what Christmas is all

that's about being cozy I don't care where you are in the world okay we're here

for coziness we're here for cuddles it's cuffing season everybody knows that they

found a few options here for you and they are just luxurious you feel like

the woman of the manor you feel like let me light my scented candle let me bundle

up in my matching silk pajamas let me just put on Christmas movies and you

know until I fall asleep or die what do you get the person that has

everything well this is what we're gonna have to think outside the box

number one for this is a ridiculous designer phone case and I have just the

one for you it is the most impractical but single-handedly most over-the-top

phone case I have ever seen the next one we have is a ridiculous key ring key

rings are something that will always come in handy

Balenciaga has a couple of options that make every other key ring you have had

before look inferior one of them looks like an

air freshener and the other one looks like a

hotel key like keyring from a hotel key and I don't know but I just think that

these are bougie AF and the last person for the person who has everything

especially if they are someone that is really interested in the environment why

not get a 100% sterling silver reusable straw from Steven Webster why the hell

not is called the last straw I think this is fantastic if anybody is looking

to get me something for Christmas I will gladly accept this is super boujee

super next-level also very practical and very functional comment down below which

of these you would want or you're thinking about getting someone or I've

planted a seed of an idea also let me know what you're planning any luxury

gifts that you're planning on gifting this season it's like this video if you

enjoyed it I really really hope I help subscribe if you're not already go down

there click the red button and guys have an amazing morning afternoon or evening

wherever you are and an amazing festive season and I will see you in my next

video haha bye guys

BE LIVE TV REVIEW 🚨 Facebook Live Overlay (Beginners Guide Tutorial) - Duration: 8:20.

well I have some exciting news for a long time people have been using

overlays and watermarks in their Facebook videos and it's because they

have some skill or they have access to a program most programs that you purchase

are awfully expensive they have a subscription fee and they charge you

quite a bit in this case B lives has a free option you can use the trial

program for 14 days but there still are some options to use it for free granted

you're going to lose some of the functionality but for most people what

you want to do is be able to post questions in your video or post people's

questions and answer sessions maybe co-hosts you know collaborate with other

people that's always nice and potentially just have your your branded

logo in the corner of your Facebook live videos that way it looks a little more

professional and one of the ways you can do that is by using be live and be live

is a website that is geared towards Facebook overlays and quite a few other

features for Facebook so how you start with it is simply to log in and you'll

see I have some videos already posted I've been testing it just recently I

normally use a program called OBS and OBS is free but you have to know how to

use it it's not anything that's easy to use so when you get into your sign-in

it'll ask you to use your Facebook account it's going to ask you a number

of questions like giving they want if they're going to want access to your

Facebook information it's going to be mostly your profile and some of the

access to your particular pages especially if you have a group it's it's

safe to give it to them for the most part I haven't seen any problems with it

it's been very very normal for me to give them access to things I don't I

don't think they're using it for any other purpose than just to make sure

that your live sessions get posted to the correct

area so that said what you do once you're in it is you have these three

options over here on the side face to face interview is for co-hosting and you

can create a talk show broadcast which gives you some other features that these

other two don't do sort of like frames and some graphics some nice things to

touch up your video for most people though the Q&A broadcast is going to be

most effective if you're trying to sell a product I think this is the easiest

one to use and what happens is it takes you to this where you go to create your

QA and then once you go to click on it you'll be asked to type a text for the

broadcast this is sort of like how you create your topic so we're going to just

call this testing for today and then they expect your email which we can give

them in this case so I can move right along and then we're going to go ahead

oh I'm going to need to calm our night and then if you want to do a scheduled

Facebook live broadcast that's an option too and that will give you some features

for people who have a less schedule they want to adhere to you can add a custom

logo which is very very cool this allows you to put a watermark in your videos

sort of like clicking on that gives you my watermark and then it'll tell it'll

ask you where you want to post it and this is where it's extremely powerful to

me as I can post it on the group page that I manage and then I can select a

group and I'll put it in this case to support and then you can choose your

background colors so you can click on it if you want and select a background

color for the Q&A one of the titling that comes up so say you want to use

pink or whatever color or magenta you can use blue can change the text color

if you feel like you want to and then when you leave the send send a messenger

checked that will alert everybody that you're live in messenger and that's if

you uncheck it no one will know so you can test it a little bit by doing that

and it's kind of a little bit less pressure to have that unchecked your

first time since you may not know how to use this program and in this case we're

going to go to create broadcast and I have my camera covered so it will

give you some basic instructions here and you can start broadcast you need to

connect to your camera and I have a pink post-it over so he can't cuz I don't

have to deal with that right now and when you're ready you'll do start

broadcast this show option here is an example of what a comment would look

like now normally this icon would be a person a commenter you know somebody in

your group it will be their picture whether you know icon and when you hit

show it'll post their question like this and for you it's up above your head but

for them it's going to be in the corner and it's going to feature their their

actual picture of their Facebook profile picture instead of this little icon

which is pretty cool and it'll post their comment and it will give the name

of the person in the blue of who posted the comment so that's really great for

questions and answers and when you post people's comments like this it kind of

it becomes more entertaining and it becomes clear which question you're

addressing and then you can hide it if you want and then you can create an

agenda which is really cool so if you want to type something right now you

could say hello and then just push the show button and then it shows up see

right here in this screen is your preview screen this is what it looks

like it has a nice little graphic so if you look at it it has some basic here

I'll do it one more time that's some basic icon you know a little movements

there which is kind of nice lease or something it's a little professional and

then you can also create an agenda which is pretty cool so when you create an

agenda what that does is you put into title which is actually going to be the

text it's there so you do testing agenda and then down below the description is

for you it's for your purposes so show test alright and that that just is for

you this areas for your information and this is what they're going to actually

see and you can put a fair amount of information in there I believe it will

support multiple lines you up to two lines and then you can add that

your agenda then you can hit the plus symbol and add another thing so you can

call this question two and then you could say this is for you for you to

know for whatever and then when you click on show it'll pop it up see just

like that and then you can click show and it will pop up the next thing so you

can create a series of questions that you're going to ask in your video

it's very actually very powerful you can hide the agenda at any time or bring it

back up if you want to to get it out of the way so this is how it works what I

like about it is that when you're ready to start you hit start of course but

when you end your broadcast instead of hitting the button and attending right

away it asks you to confirm so no more of that ending your broadcast

prematurely thing like I've done a couple times if you hit stop broadcast

it pulls up a an acknowledgement screen that will ask you did you want to stop

your broadcast so if you accidentally hit that it doesn't just stop which is

really cool so this is how you get it to function there are quite a few other

things it can do but I just wanted to keep it simple today I hope this has

been useful for you and I'll catch you in the next video

my prince and maybe just maybe stepmother will come over too and I can

make her her favorite flavor hi what's your favorite oh my god Mary

this is pretty hefty it says hats not plastic you might be hard to see the

details but Polly is right there what is this sick crumbs I think just like

icing take a hard take a hard blob of icing all and well for Christmas is very

chocolatey teeth when I see the princesses no Kai Arielle you like my

chocolate teeth you like my dinglehopper dang Instagram pressure so much pressure

can't explain why it means so much to you you just can't you can't do it about

a year ago about a year maybe over a year ago I was

here on Main Street at Disneyland and I saw the Google Maps people the Google

Maps people they're all walking around with a backpack on and there's a big

Google globe and epc family members sent me a picture of Google Maps right now on

Main Street I am dead center in the middle of it all on the key if you go to

Main Street if you go to Google Maps right now and search for Main Street you

see me you see me now I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing

meaning that I'm here alots saw Pluto he would usually saw other dogs like circus

VANCOUVER, Canada Travel Guide | Little Grey Box - Duration: 8:50.

Hey guys Phoebe here from Little Grey Box Now Matt and I are in beautiful

Vancouver uncovering a few of the best things to see, eat and do

now these tips are perfect for anybody who wants to experience Vancouver in the

summer but only has a couple of days and a very limited budget to do it

Let's go

Located at the north western edge of downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park has been

a designated green space for over a hundred and thirty years it's a really

It's a really popular spot for visitors and locals and it is easy to see why

you can visit beaches, wander trails lined with beautiful cedar, fir and hemlock trees

visit the Aquarium, check out the sea wall there are cafes, plenty of spots for

a picnic and of course you can hire a bike and whizz around

For the very best free views of Vancouver you want to head right here to the

High View Lookout at the Cypress Provincial Park. Now we have a hire car so we drove

up here super easily there's a parking lot you can just jump out spend some

time have a picnic and get a sense of the size and scope of Van City

As you can see the Capilano Suspension Bridge is a real favorite among tourists

I mean it's absolutely packed and I'm freaking out I've really bad social

anxiety and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to bring myself a get on there

cause it's a little bit claustrophobic so in addition to the suspension bridge

you can do a cliff walk and there are some cool tree top adventures too there's

plenty of food to eat a little bit of shopping you can do at the Trading Post

I just want to make this clear I'm not afraid of the heights

I'm afraid of the amount of people on here it's freaking me out

If you have shocking social anxiety

proceed with caution

if you're a normal functioning human enjoy yourself

We're in the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Garden and it is beautiful

If you love gardens like I do You wil love this one

Vancouver's Chinatown is one of the largest in the world and for those on a

budget it is the perfect place to explore on foot and take in a little bit

of local culture and history along the way Behind me is the Sam Key Building and it

is the narrowest building in the world I know what you're thinking Phoebe it's not

that narrow but I want you to take a look at the two different paint colors

that dark paint... that's the Sam Key Building

Now we've been walking around Gastown and Chinatown for a couple of hours now

and there are a few people on the street who might be homeless or a little bit down on their luck

if you aren't from a country that has those kinds of issues you may find it intimidating

but honestly, we've had no problems

as with any country, anywhere in the world

just be a safe traveller and keep your wits about you

You can't come to Vancouver without visiting it's oldest neighborhood, Gastown

Now this area grew from a single tavern founded by John "Gassy Jack" Deighton

way back in 1867 and is now grown into a charming, historic and quaint part of

beautiful Vancouver. There are lots of boutiques, shops, gret places to eat

and of course the iconic steam clock which you see behind me

walk around, dip into shops, grab a cheap bite to eat from somewhere like The Warehouse

where all food is $5.95 and experience Vancouver

You can't come to Canada without trying poutine

now Matt and I are both vegetarians so we're here at Mean Poutine

where the gravy is herbivore friendly

What the heck is poutine? If you've never seen or heard of it before it is a French Canadian classic

they take perfectly-cooked crunchy french fries

cover them in gravy, cheese curds

French onions and there are a whole bunch of other toppings you can try too

hot dog, look at those cheesecurds

oh that is so good

it's amazing

Traditional Canadian foods and delicious budget eats do not get any better

than these bad boys

You are staring right down the barrel of a box of Tim Bits, if you don't know what a Tim Bit is

look it comes from Tim Hortons, hence the name Tim and the bit, well...

they are essentially donut holes so just a little round, bite-sized

tasty morsels of donut and they are so good

Now this box of 10 cost me $2.29

absolute bargain

We're at the Granville Island Brewery on you guessed it, Granville Island

Now I saw this handle for maple cream ale, maple cream beer

all the way over in Calgary and I was like when I get to Granville Island I have to try it

I thought it would taste exactly like maple syrup, it doesn't

It tastes just like....

beer

The Granville Island Public Market is perfect for anyone on a budget because

it has a wealth of food that you can try

Now this is the first time my deprived Australian eyes have ever laid themselves on perogies

My dad is Canadian, he has been talking about perogies since before I can remember

now what they are is yummy yummy dumplings filled with

all kinds of great things like meat, cheese, potato and onion

I'm really excited for this this feels like a big life moment

Is that seagull?

That's not a seagull...

It's a chicken

That's a chicken...an aggressive looking chicken

that thing is huge!

If you love great views you will love the Sea to Sky Gondola it's about a

45-minute drive from downtown Vancouver now the views up here are stunning

they're absolutely incredible there are loads of trails, food, you can bring your

own for a picnic one thing I will say obviously this isn't a super budget

option but if you are going to splash out on one experience this has to be it

so far, this is my favorite thing we've done

As the sun begins to set, I recommend coming right here to the Shannon Falls Provincial Park

where you will find the incredible Shannon Falls Now they are the third largest falls in British Columbia

the drive will take you around 35 to 40 minutes from downtown Vancouver

but if you've done the Sea to Sky Gondola it's 1 or 2 minutes down the road so you can easily pop in

When we were looking for someone to stay it was really hard for us because it's was peak

season it's super expensive so we went on Airbnb and.... yeah we stayed in

North Vancouver at the Airbnb for two nights and then we went to Walmart

bought all brand-new camping supplies and we headed out to a little campsite

called Porteau Cove near Squamish. It's $20 a night for a walk-in site at Porteau Cove

and the views are incredible, Porteau Cove is stunning you've got the cove, you can swim out the front

there are mountains in the background the sunsets are incredible

I love it

Thank you so much for watching you guys we hope you found this video helpful

if you don't already be sure to subscribe, join our travel fun family

and say hello in the comments below have a great weekend and we will see you next week

Love ya!

Hitchhiker's Guide to Web Standards // Dominic Farolino // CascadiaJS 2018 - Duration: 24:10.

How is it going, everyone?

Doing well?

Today we will be talking about web standards.

This is my first time using a clicker so bear with me.

My name is Dom Farolino.

I am a senior at the University of Cincinnati.

I will doing a final internship in Japan and work on Chromium committer.

You can follow me on Twitter, check out my work on GitHub and feel free to e-mail me

any time after the talk if you have questions about the getting involved and the browser

stuff in general.

I want to talk about what this talk is.

I have three overarching goals I wanted to reach.

The first is provide a background and history into web standards and some of the organizations

that are responsible for their governance.

This could be its own talk but I will give a brief history on this.

Next I will talk about as a web developer how you can make use of a web standard.

A lot of us Google an API and figure out how it works but I want to talk about the technical

bits of the web standards and show how to make use of them and navigate that space.

Finally, I want to talk about how to get involved and share a bit about my own story of getting

involved with standards and working on the platform and, hopefully, encourage some of

you to do the same.

I would like to propose the idea we need a definition of a standard.

This largely depends on context if we define a new word.

I would like to propose my own definition for the purpose of this talk.

A document specifying observable effects of tech with multiple independent implementations.

Let's focus on the key points.

We care about the observable effects of technology.

If I run something, what does it do?

The last part multiple independent implementations -- I think this one is really important.

It is far from a new concept in technology.

You know, we have seen this with Unix operating system.

You can have your own and you get one and everybody has their own separate distribution

with sugar on top.

What I really care about is can I write application that works once everywhere and no matter what

operating system I am using that is in the Linux family of OSs it will work uniformly.

To make that environment conducive, we have a set of classic standards.

The same thing goes for web tech and this is primarily what I will talk about today.

I happen to know for a fact you can't go to the store and buy one HTTP.

It is just an idea and something you implement to make it compatible with other versions.

We can run JavaScript in a bunch of places.

It is like python.

We get it from the Python people.

I can run it in Chrome, Edge, Node and all kinds of different places.

The same goes for the star of the talk today which is web platform APIs.

I am no longer a Unix app developer but I am a web developer and I need to know the

same extensions will be there in Chrome and Firefox and more importantly work

the same.

Keynote is cool and has a bunch of symbols you can use.

Let's talk about where web APIs come from.

This is important.

We want to know where this stuff comes from and how we can make more of them.

I think the logical answer is probably JavaScript.

We use web APIs when using JavaScript.

Here is an example of a snapshot of the Chrome dev tools.

I can fetch super prominent sites on the internet and set timeout and stuff like that.

This stuff is part of the language but what is the language?

We know the big story of JavaScript being created in 10 days but it is a general purpose

programming language created for the purposes of the web.

It was plopped into an escape 2.0 and made it a candidate for standardization because

there was going to be multiple implementations of it.

We needed a group to come out and pick out this task of standardizing.

They have had success with the various engines.

There is a bunch of same implementations for this.

The standard looks like this.

It is big and hard to read and on GitHub under the TC39 page.

That stands for technical committee 39.

When we write a standard, how does it work?

We are predicting language so have to make it general.

We need a really strict separation of concern.

We need to be dealing with the language, syntax and semantics.

As a true scripting language, it should be able to be plopped into any hosting environment

but the language shouldn't have to know anything explicit about that environment.

We are used to using language in the browser and used to web APIs but the language doesn't

know about that.

They are effective mixed in and baked into the browsers and browsers can support a version

of this script and a bunch of web APIs that tag alongside this version that interplay

with it.

We have that coined -- TC39 is responsible for standardizing the JavaScript we know but

who is responsible for standardizing the web APIs?

Two big groups are primary responsible right now.

You have probably seen one of these logos.

We have the W3C and the WHATWG which stands for What Working Group and is the one I will

be talking about today.

The WHATWG stands for a long stream of text.

It was formed from branching off from the W3C.

They have an HTML language and it is the kitchen sink of the web platform.

They specify the interface we use to talk to the web and a lot of really cool things

like notifications and such.

But how are these things actually written?

If we are going to write a browser, we want to write ES, we start with this.

There is a lot of stuff and a bunch of exposed objects we get for free in JavaScript.

The array constructor and data array objects and weak maps and data structures that are

exposed.

We want our browser to be a little more powerful and have it be me, the DOM.

We can give it a query selector language and extend the language more.

The document is getting bigger but it is getting more powerful.

We would love to contact the network as well so we will give it network primitives like

fetch, request.

It would be really cool if we could do ourselves and give it a console method as well.

This is one way to write it it keep appending the text.

The WHATWG has standards for each idea that has separations of concerns and each standard

is responsible for the specifications of the web and JavaScript and things like that.

We get web APIs as a result alongside ES and JavaScript.

If we want to read the web APIs as web developers, and want to make use of them, we need to know

the anatomy of a standard and what is in these objects.

It is a mystical thing, kind of.

It is not too difficult to get involved.

It is all very open and happening right under our noses.

I was thinking about this for the talk and came to the conclusion there are two big parts

of standards to be aware of.

The first is algorithms.

I spend many evenings working on complete code and hacking and I like algorithms and

data structure stuff.

Algorithms are a set of steps to perform a task, really.

Let's look at an algorithm here.

There are five steps that run every time you invoke the console count.

You can see we are giving something called a label and basically the idea is if we have

seen this label before, when we called this, and then, you know, increment some number

we have associated with label otherwise we can set it to 1.

This is algorithm and this logger thing is abstract text for saying browser, show this

to the user in whatever way you see fit.

This algorithm answers questions like what is the initial value of a number associated

with a label and what happens when I call it?

The second important thing about specifying and using web APIs is understanding the look

and the feel.

I think that is really important.

What does it mean for an API to have a look and a feel?

I thought of this and I think it is kind of like, what does it mean to use the API as

a developer?

What is it called?

Hanging off a similar object?

Globally exposed?

Take anything?

Is there a bunch of parameters?

How many parameters?

Does it return anything?

A lot of us are using end to end and maybe Googling this stuff to find it but I want

to show you can show the standard.

Here is another part of the console standard.

A big scary block of text but let's focus on the bit that is complimentary to what we

were talking about before, the count method.

We have this that can tell you a little bit about it.

It is called count and exists under the console name space.

It's count type is void so I probably shouldn't expect to get anything from it.

It takes in a single parameter called label.

It is optional and its type is DOM string.

We don't know what DOM string is right now but let's assume it is a regular string.

It is pretty expressive but it isn't JavaScript because we care about types and it isn't C++

because we see other invalid things going on.

What exactly is this language?

It is walled web interface definition language and you will see it in a lot of specifications.

It forms a contract for the signature of web APIs you use.

When I go into the algorithm, I am running these steps, and I want to know what label

is.

I need to -- maybe I am making assumptions it is a string and operating on that accordingly

and that is really important for me to know.

I want to talk about how web IDL works in practice.

You will call console.count and give it whatever.

You can give it a symbol, object whatever.

But the second you do that the web IDL Sheriff comes in and says hold up!

You called console.counts and you can give it whatever you want, symbol if you wanted

to, give it a number, whatever, but I am making sure this contract is available.

I am going to make sure whatever you give me can pass as a DOM string.

If it does, we go to the algorithm and continue with a hopefully successful call.

The web IDL Sheriff can throw a type error resulting with you in code jail.

Probably the worst place to be.

Starring at the dev tool with the red text and not knowing what is going on.

Real Sheriffs in the real world know who to arrest and who not to.

They have a rulebook of things to follow here.

Just like the real Sheriffs have a rulebook, the Sheriff IDL has a rulebook and defines

stuff it should be enforcing.

Here is a snippet from the web IDL standard.

It is responsible for converting a value to what is called a DOM string.

This is an acsation here.

This is really nice because it is pretty expressive.

It tells us how things should work in a really normative, clear way and protects our algorithm.

When I get to here I know I am working on a string and the Sheriff is OK with it.

Why are we using this thing called Web IDL anyway?

What is it?

It does a lot of things for us.

It helps us write a lot with just a few words potentially.

It takes care of a lot of type conversions.

You saw a simple example of a type conversion but you can imagine a potentially more complicated

one.

We would not want to make steps to convert and make assumptions everywhere in the spec

so we can use this to abstract that stuff away.

It takes care of property initialization were us and other stuff and helps us define if

our interfaces are exposed in an expressive way.

The most important thing about web IDL is you don't have to use it.

It is just an abstraction of the test.

We have standards written without web IDL and that is valid.

It speaks in the same language the ECMAScript talks in.

You can always feel free to, you know -- hopefully, that little foray makes you more comfortable

reading the standards that they come with.

Finally, I want to talk about how I got involved in this and how you can do the same and motivate

you to hopefully do the same as well.

Who knows this logo?

Show of hands?

A lot of people.

This is the Angular logo.

Basically, a couple years ago I was like yeah, I am going

to start doing stuff with web applications and better learn a heavy framework that can

bog me down and figure out how to write this.

Angular 2 was in alpha.

Things were always moving around.

I would hear people say Angular is getting a new router or object.

It was easy to track this.

At the same time, I heard another camp of people kind of talking about JavaScript and

saying JavaScript is getting a sync generators or do you think about custom applications?

I said that is not Angular specific so I dug around to see who was part of this.

Seemed pretty cool.

I came across this guy's profile.

His name is Domenic DeNicola and I learned he was a speaker at the first CascadiaJS.

I reached out and said I see you with working on working groups and things like that.

I reached out and was like what do you do and how can I do it too?

Are you paid to work on this stuff?

He was like hey, we have the same name, both Dom's working on the platform, so I will let

you in on secrets.

Dig around into the working group standards and take a look at issues.

There is a lot of issue labels that the issues are fixed with.

As the name implies these are good first issues for people to get involved.

A lot are low hanging fruit and some are editorial in nature where you can dig around and get

a sense of how they work.

I want to cut away from Keynote and probably screw a lot of things up in the process but

let's see if I can show what the WHATWG page looks like.

One second.

All right.

Cool.

Here is the WHATWG get-up page to show you it is all happening in front of you.

It is a very welcoming area.

This is basically a list of all the specifications that we maintain.

Giant list of HTML standards, the fetch standard and stuff like that.

You can go to one of these repositories and see what is inside.

There must be a source code that the standard exists in.

A lot of times this will take in the form of a BS file.

BS does not stand for bullshit.

We are serious people here working on standards and the platform.

It is basically the language we mixed in with HTML and preprocess before we build the standard

and helps us with cross linking and other fancy things.

You can check out the source there.

All standards exist at something dot spec.

They look like this.

They are the ones with the green logos that the browser actually trusts.

We can go in and check out the standard.

All kinds of stuff like that.

If you are looking to get involved, you can go under the issue section and we have a bunch

of labels we use.

If we want to check out these issues, for example, this is the fetch standard things,

like the fetch method exists on the request object, you could go in and try to find the

good first issues.

This is really cool.

I can dig around here and help solve some issues.

Now we are kind of on to evolving the web platform and working with a standards body

to help fix some of the problems they identified in the platform.

This goes back to interfacing with the community and the community groups online so I want

to talk a little bit about this.

We are dealing with the WHATWG and there is a bunch of ways to communicate.

You can chime in on an issue and say I really want to work on this.

This looks cool.

We are super-super happy to provide mentorship for people looking to get involved.

Also, we are on the big bad scary place and that is IRC under free Node on the WHATWG

channel.

I am always logged in and a lot of others are always logged in and we are always available

to help with Russians and stuff like that.

There is a lot of information here thrown at you and things like that and at the very

end of the presentation I will give you a long web page you can go to get this stuff

from.

I want to talk about why do to do this.

There is a lot of cool reasons to learn Angular and React and work on the web.

I know we are in Seattle in Microsoft land but if you have a problem with Windows APIs

you have to work at Microsoft to get them changed or do something but with the web platform

all this tough is happening in front of your face.

It is all on GitHub and free to participate and anyone can go on and start helping.

Web developers are in a unique position of being able to influence and modify the platform

we develop on every single day.

That is really exciting to me and one reason I got involved.

I will leave you a repository I started the other day.

Now is the time to take pictures of the slides if you are interested in getting involved.

There is a lot of information more than what I talked about in this talk.

Check out that repository with links to getting started, talks others have done, and how to

get involved into the web community and modify web standards.

I want to leave you with things I worked on to, hopefully, provide motivation that you

can do the same.

I changed how fetch works.

I worked on Chrome to modify when we send credentials and did the same for module scripts

and took part of the standardization there talking to the browser saying we are thinking

about making this change, what do you think, and can I do it.

I standardized and implemented the referrerpolicy attribute.

I have implemented a bunch of console APIs as well.

The console standard is a really good one to start getting involved in.

I encourage you to check it out.

It is what I started working and started working on Chrome as a result of that.

Finally, I have been working on something called priority hints which is a new resource

API that lets developers tell the browser what priority they would like to be associated

with the request.

I did the implementation work in Chrome and we are doing experimentation to see if is

going to be available.

I hope I have left you with a good taste in your mouth when it comes to web standards

and I hope you feel motivated to get involved and contribute back to the platform.

Thanks a lot.

That is it.

DJI OSMO POCKET User Guide: Everything You Need To Know! - Duration: 25:41.

what's up everybody I'm brick harem Ella and today I'm gonna tell you everything

you need to know about the pocket Osmo I'm gonna kick a little flow so here we

go so the pocket Osmo is finally here was announced at

New York City's event called because life is big so rather than making a ton

of youtube videos I'd rather make one YouTube video with all the information

that you guys need to know so that's what I attempted to do in this video so

if you haven't done so please subscribe to my channel so it can help me make

more videos like this in order for you to make the best decision for you and

show you how to use this new DGI device so I'm gonna start with all the specs

and I'm gonna go into the features and as we go along I'm gonna give you my

opinion show you some b-roll of how it's used in order to give you a very

comprehensive look at the Osmo pocket alright so when you unbox the Osmo it

comes with a nice little case it comes with some small pamphlets one of them is

the Osmos shield which is insurance for the Osmo pocket it includes a wristband

for the case so you can just carry it around your wrist which is nice and

convenient so you don't drop it like your cell phone it's gonna come with a

USB cable to USBC cable it's also gonna have a lightning adapter so you can

mount that right in to your phone and use the DJI MIMO app what I do like

about starting the Osmo pocket is as opposed to the other Osmos that you have

to attach with your phone again to the app with the other Osmos it takes about

60 to 90 seconds really to start it up and start shooting but the Osmo pockets

only a few seconds so it's gonna be a lot better for running and gunning and

for vlogging now not only is the Osmo pocket versatile because you can use it

in so many different ways but you also can record in many different ways you

can record on to the micro SD card with just the Osmo pocket or you can connect

it to your phone and record all the footage that you that you're shooting on

to your actual phone so you have two ways of recording which is great that

people want to record another phone cool if you want to prove

onto the SD card you can do that as well all right so let's start looking at the

gimbal Canberra the unit itself there's no surprise there it's 12 megapixels

with a 1/2 point 3 inch sensor we kind of expected that the maximum image size

is gonna be 4000 by 3000 pixels the field of view is gonna be 80 degrees but

has a very fast eff 2.0 lens which is gonna be very helpful in low-light and

for anything that's moving letting in a lot of light having that fast glass is

really nice now you're gonna be able to take

panoramic shots time-lapse motion lapse and I'm going to talk about that more in

depth later in this video much like the GoPro it is able to shoot

4k at 60 frames per second which is a step up from the other Osmos that were

only able to do 4k at 30 frames per second and that's something that even

the Mavic 2 doesn't do now all those specs aside the one that really counts

that I'm excited about is the bitrate and a hundred megabytes per second I'm

glad they didn't make it at 50 or 60 megabytes per second because that would

have been more like the other Osmos and more like the Mavic pro alright they

stepped it up to 100 megabytes per second so in 9 pixel peeping geek talk

that basically means you're gonna get really really great video quality out of

this sensor and because of this I won't be surprised if the footage is actually

better than the GoPro Hero 7 black you're gonna be able to record an mp4

which is kind of universal or maybe more geared toward PC users and also MOV

which is more geared towards Apple users the quality is going to be the same with

either one so don't worry about that you can shoot at codec of h.264 it doesn't

have h.265 but to me that's not really a huge deal most people use h.264 and

don't have the computing capacity to use h.265 so h.264 is all good for me get

this the micro SD card that you're able to use is up to 256 gigabytes that's

right 256 not 128 like the Mavic - ok you can go all the way up to 256 that's

really nice because you can put on a big old card slap it in there

and then you don't have to worry I know a lot of people say oh you're supposed

to use more than one card in case the card fails but I've been using SanDisk

cards which I'll put in a link below and I can say the SanDisk I've never had one

fail in 12 years of doing photography and cinematography so maybe I'm lucky

but that's just my two cents for that now looking at the specs the one

question I have is the audio it says 48 kilohertz I'm not sure exactly how good

the audio is but if you do have good audio this could be huge because the

Osmo pocket is so darn small all right these are the dimensions in inches and

millimeters less than five inches and weighing only four ounces or about a

quarter of a pound I mean this is so darn small it's really great and that's

why a lot of people have been comparing it to the GoPro because of its size and

all these functions that I'm talking about all right so it has 875 milliamp

hour batteries which is about seven point seven volts and in layman's terms

that means it's going to last about an hour and 40 minutes and it takes 73

minutes to charge an empty battery now if you live in an area where it's really

really cold or really really hot it's going to be able to perform in

temperatures from 32 degrees all the way through 104 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 to

40 degrees Celsius now one thing I noticed from DJI products in terms of

temperature you are able to push that a little bit so if you wanted to use it in

little colder weather on the freezing side you could just be careful you want

to make sure you keep like a heat pack around it and make sure it doesn't get

too cold because you could damage the battery and damage the unit itself but

all your skier is snowboarders it could be a lot of fun to take around because

then you can just throw in your pocket and ski down the mountain and get really

good first-person view shots where you're skiing down the mountain or

you're snowboarding down the mountain etc as I mentioned in my previous video

you are going to be able to use a lot of accessories with the pocket Osmo much

like the GoPro now these accessories are specifically made for the Osmo pocket so

if you already having Osmo unfortunately you're gonna

have to get new accessories for the Osmo pocket and I will include a link to the

accessories in the description below some of these accessories include a

waterproof case it does have a waterproof housing enabling you to use

it underwater without distortion of that 80 degree field of view a controller

wheel and D filter set wireless module extension rod accessory mount expansion

kit in a variety of cases and bags let's talk about the ergonomics or the way the

Osmo pocket was built so if you look at it you can see it has a little touch

screen which is nice now I don't have to use just my phone you can use your phone

put the Osmo pocket down like on a tripod or a little mount and then I

could film myself further away so that's really nice that I can use it both with

a phone without a phone it has that nice little touch screen also like the other

Osmos and the Ronin s I can use it in normal mode in flashlight mode and then

in underslung mode also the Osmo pocket is so small for having a 3-axis gimbal

so that's great it's super small and you get that three axis gimbal in order to

give you really smooth footage whether you're walking running on a bike or

doing any other type of activity now the active track is something I wanted to

see the other Osmos the only Osmos that have it have been the Osmo mobile one

and the Osmo mobile two but now they added it to the Osmo pocket which is a

great feature I don't know why they didn't put it in the other Osmos but I'm

really happy to see it in the Osmo pocket the active track is great for

vloggers for people like myself and make youtube videos or travel videos and just

want to point on either myself using an extension rod or I could point on

something else and I don't have to do anything I just hold the Osmo pocket and

it does everything for me it's kind of like a lazy man's way of shooting but it

really is effective and looks very smooth and professional I also like the

fact that using the active track you don't have to

really draw a square around someone like you had to do with DJI drones and the

Osmo mobile so for the Osmo pocket all you have to do is just double click it

and it will recognize you recognize portraits whether I'm pointing it in

selfie mode at myself or I'm shooting a subject so I can capture the image

really quick and this is great for running and gunning as a vlogger or

someone who shoots spontaneous videos you don't want to be setting up a shot

doing all this stuff all right you want to get the shot quick all right before

it leaves so having that active track and just double-click and I'll execute

the shot without any fuss now with that said if you use your phone you're gonna

have to use the mimo app or my mom I'm not sure exactly still how you pronounce

it I think it's MIMO and with this app which is free on Google Play and Apple

phones you can just attach your cellphone go into the mimo app and then

use your finger to highlight the person or the object that you're tracking and

it'll track it for you again on the touch screen on the pocket Osmo you

double click but with your phone you just make that square and the active

fact basically does the rest one cool feature of the active track dimension is

that it doesn't have to have the gimbal and center it can move all around in any

position so no matter how you're holding the Osmo pocket it's still gonna follow

the subject and be locked in now we're going to talk about moving the gimbal

around I recommend you get the controller wheel which cost $59 this is

going to give you a lot of added functionalities so with the controller

wheel you can just tap this small little button next to the dial and one of the

modes you can make the gimbal go up and down vertically or you tap the little

button to the side and then you can make the gimbal go side-to-side so having

this controller wheel is really helpful now another way to move the gimbal up

and down it's just actually on the touchscreen of the Osmo pocket on the

right hand side you can just use your thumb or your finger to move it up and

down and the gimbal will go up and down as so another thing that the controller

wheel does you can tap on the side button over here and then it just goes

into selfie mode tap it it goes back to normal mode which is great for vloggers

which I mentioned earlier I know I'm mentioning a lot about vlogging but this

is a great vlogging camera when you press on that middle

button or that button to the left and the controller wheel it's going to go

into the different shooting modes now you can go into the tilt mode the FPV

mode or the follow mode now when you hold down that right button on the

controller wheel the gimbal is going to be locked in position no matter where

you move the gimbal the head will stay perfectly still and will give you nice

smooth shots so basically that right button on the controller wheel is much

like the Ronin s the trigger in the back or the trigger and the Osmo mobile that

you have to hold down to keep it stable so once you take your finger off that

button then you lose all that stability that you had it kind of goes kind of

everywhere a little loose so in most cases you're going to want to hold that

button down one thing to know when you get that controller wheel if that dial

is not in the center the gimbal head could drift it could start moving and

this happens with other Ozma's and people think it's broken there's a

manufacturer error no it just needs the calibration so if you get your Osmo

pocket and you attach the controller wheel and your head starts moving the

gimbal starts moving to the side without you doing anything then you're gonna

have to do a calibration so you're gonna have to go into the little touch menu so

on the touch menu you're gonna swipe down and then you'll see a little icon

for settings you click on that then you're gonna scroll over to where it

says accessories you're gonna click on that and then you're gonna click on dial

calibration once you press that it's going to do that calibration so you

won't get the head drifting off to the side so it's just a quick

troubleshooting here so you get this don't freak out that's how you fix it as

we know Instagram has taken over social media and has its stories feature which

everyone seems to love it seems to be going crazy now so DJI is being pretty

smart and trendy it made a story mode function so you can use this function to

upload videos to Instagram to Facebook or to any other social media it will

shoot edit add music and record on to your phone and you can upload it so it's

basically all in one no effort no extra downloading and doing this and

doing that so if you want to shoot yourself doing any type of thing like a

fashion shoot walking around whatever you guys do while you're vlogging or

just recording your life or your business you can do that very quickly

and easily in story mode so let me explain alright so you have that little

adapter on the side of the Osmo pocket right above the record button then you

can attach your cell phone when you connect your phone to the adapter on the

Osmo pocket the MIMO app is automatically going to load in the

application you just slide over to the right and on the right side and the

lower right side it's gonna say story you're gonna click on that but then

you're going to be able to choose from four different story modes leisure

fashion cut and lively after you choose one of these four modes then you can

start recording when you record the gimbals automatically going to go into

that specific story mode and record the way it should and then process

everything add music and then download it right onto your phone so you can

upload it to social media so all your friends can give it a heart alike or

whatever else you want

I next let's talk about panel mode so shooting a panorama you can do it with

the Osmo pocket you don't need your phone however to view what you shot

you're gonna need to attach your phone so you can do it with your phone

attached or you can do it with just the Osmo pocket but in order to view it

which you probably do you're gonna eventually have to attach your phone so

on the touch screen you just slide over and then you're gonna choose panel on

the bottom right there and then panel you can do a 180 which will do 180

degree photo just go around and take it stitch it all together or you can do the

3 by 3 3 by 3 means 9 photos totals so

$317 which is right next to it just press it and you have the option of

doing 180 degrees or the 3 by 3 now let's talk about time lapse and motion

lapse you can do this with the Osmo pocket or with your phone you can

connect with the wireless module via bluetooth or Wi-Fi the main thing you

have to know is you have to either set it down on a flat surface or get this

module to keep it nice and steady but you can't move while you're doing a time

lapse or emotion lapse obviously because your footage won't come out right now

with the time lapse you can adjust the interval or every few seconds is it

going to take a photo and then the amount of time that's gonna elapse and

it's going to turn it all into a video you can go 20 30 minutes whatever you

want to choose but to do motion lapse you're gonna have to physically move the

head the gimbal of the pocket Osmo so it's much it's kind of like waypoints on

a drone basically you pick one point you like it

you move the head manually physically move it pick another point

press the plus sign move another point press the plus sign on the screen and so

you have these different points once you like it then you press

go and then it does it all for you I actually recommend using this with your

phone because when you use your phone for the motion lapse you're going to be

able to press path and then after you press the path button you're going to be

able to press the plus button the plus as new points where you want to move the

head so you move the head one position you press plus to another position you

can also take any point delete it and then it goes back and then you can put

in a new point so for instance you move it over here you don't like it delete it

and set a new point just to get it exactly right what I do like about this

camera I like the DJ I added the fpv mode because in fpv mode you can shoot

like a 360 kind of like the barrel roll with the Ronin s you can just go all the

way around and it's gonna maintain that horizon based on where you are it's not

gonna try to go back to the center and lock in but it's going to do all this

with that three axis stabilization alright so now that we've talked all

about the Osmo pocket if you decide to buy it I'm gonna go quickly right now

over activation setting it up so you have a kind of a QuickStart guide to get

going with this mini stabilizer so the first thing you want to do charge your

battery on the front of the Osmo pocket there's two buttons all right you have

your record button the button next which is a little red dot right next to it

there's another button you just hold that down when you hold it down the Osmo

pocket is gonna freak out it's gonna do that cable head calibration move around

like it's drunk and when it's done with that then it's powered on then you're

gonna remove the little cover and you're gonna put in your adapter and attach

that little adapter to your cell phone before you attach your cell phone make

sure you down the DJI memo app you can download it both for Android and for

Apple or whatever type of phone you have and once you download that then you're

gonna have to attach your phone to the adapter once you attach it go into the

app when you start the app for the first time it's gonna say activation there

just slide that over and press turn on upload device information and press next

then you're gonna press login now you can either register for an

account if you don't have a DJI account or create a new DGI account if you are

have a DGI account that you want to use you can just use that by clicking on

login then you're going to press activation and just wait and remember

you need your battery fully charged and you need a good internet connection if

you don't have either of these it could lead to some problems then you press

done and you're all good you're done activating the Osmo pocket after you

activate the Osmo pocket then you're going to want to do a firmware update so

make sure you have an SD card on the side can't do it without an SD card in

the side of the device so after you put that in then you're going to press the

right button on the Osmo pocket to turn it on connect your phone with the

adapter go into the memo app in the top of the app it's gonna say new firmware

available for download you just click on that and just wait for it to download

now make sure your battery is fully charged and make sure you have good

Wi-Fi connection so after you press download you're gonna have to also press

install at the bottom to get the firmware to download properly once the

firmware is fully installed you can press complete and what's nice about the

Osmo pocket is after you do the firmware it will shut itself down and then turn

on again for other drones or DJI products

you basically have to turn the unit off and then turn it back on after you do a

firmware update because if you were to do the firmware update and then just

start using it it wouldn't work properly you have to turn everything off and

turning everything back on but the Osmo pocket does everything for you which is

great now if you've already used an Osmo or another DJI product the memo app

should be pretty intuitive however I'm gonna go over it briefly just to get you

started it's not too complicated but here we go alright so all the shooting

modes are on the right-hand side of the screen you just slide it with your thumb

or your finger move it around on the right side that big circle if it's white

it's for photos if it turns red that means it's taking video so you can just

switch it back forth you know if white is photo red as video the little icon in

the upper right hand corner of the app is the selfie mode so you just press

that and then the gimbal will turn around and look right at you and then if

you want to go out of selfie mode just tap that same

again and will go back to its original filming position okay that icon right

above the red or white circle is the recenter button so when you press that

button the gimbal will go right back to center so have you moved the gimbal to

the side and it's looking to the left or it's looking to the right or down or up

when you press that recenter it's gonna go right back to the middle like I said

before that big round circle is to take photos or video for video you obviously

press it it starts the video press it again stops the video what's great is

you can immediately go into active track mode by just highlighting the subject

with your finger so you make a little square on a person and object whatever

and then it automatically will follow that object or person all around to stop

the active track all you do is that box that's around the subject is going to

have a little X in the upper right hand corner you're just going to press that

little X to exit out and then you're back into normal mode like the DJI Go

app and the DJI go for app in the lower right hand corner you have that little

icon that you click on to review your videos or your photos of course you can

pick ones that you like you can delete them you can do whatever you like with

them and they're right there now a really nice feature with this app is the

fact that you can touch the screen in whatever direction you want the gimbal

to move so as soon as you touch the screen in that direction that point

where you want to move the gimbal will move in that direction but it won't it

will do it in a very smooth and cinematic way you can just tap wherever

you want the gimbal to move and it will automatically move in that direction

which is pretty nice in the upper left hand corner you can see your camera

settings and the battery life and the battery life is what's on the Osmo

pocket which will last up to one hundred and forty minutes now when use the

active tracker you have the gimbal following something you can adjust that

speed so you click on that icon the gimbal icon and you can adjust basically

how the gimbal moves whether you want it to move nice and smooth or you can have

it move much faster if you want to adjust your different camera settings

you click on that icon on the left hand side right here now if you wanted to go

into more extensive video and photo features you're going to press in the

lower left hand corner and that's going to give you all your different

settings you can also see the battery life and how much space you have on your

microSD card when you just have the Osmo pocket on so I'll say it on the top and

on the bottom right on that little touchscreen so speaking of the touch

screen let's talk a little more about that to learn how to use all those

settings very briefly so what you do is you just swipe down with your finger on

that touch screen and you're gonna come to your settings then you're gonna just

swipe to the side and as you swipe you can go to beautify mode Gimple settings

full screen mode and brightness setting now when you swipe up with your finger

you're gonna go into your gimbal quick settings these quick settings include

recenter selfie follow speed fpv follow and gimbal lock now when you swipe left

on your touchscreen you're gonna have a list of different shooting modes after

you choose the shooting mode that you want then you're gonna swipe to the left

side and then you can adjust the specific setting within that mode that

you want perhaps an easier way is just to press that right button right below

the screen you just press that and then you can go into your different shooting

modes as well now the button with a little red dot you just press that and

you're gonna be able to record photos or videos when you're on that touch screen

you can swipe right to review what you've shot to see all your different

photos and your videos now when you want to turn off the Asamoah pocket you just

hold that button on the right hand side and it turns off and then if you run out

of battery on the bottom you just plug in a cable and then you can start

charging the little light above the red dot button is going to blink on and off

and you can see when it's done charging hot doggy that was a long video I hope

you found it helpful if you did press that like button if you're interested in

buying the Osmo pocket or some accessories I have links in the

description below to make it convenient for you and if you haven't done so guys

please press that subscribe button so you get more videos like this about DJ

eye equipment about drones about photography and before I go guys

BE LIVE TV REVIEW 🚨 Facebook Live Overlay (Price Guide Tutorial) - Duration: 5:09.

there are other overlays for Facebook live there are some overlays that allow

you to have snow in your video or different effects you can have

butterflies flying around and landing on your head and you can do snapchat

overlays and some of them but they all cost when it comes down to it even if

they are free the video quality isn't going to be up to par and for the most

part you're going to have a logo from that company somewhere on the screen and

in some cases taking up a pretty good chunk of the screen you will not be able

to brand the live session yourself so payment is a reality for people doing

this in a business if you're doing this for a business I don't think you should

plan on any of these types of overlays being free even though bee-lieve gives

you 20 minutes broadcast twice a week for free you're not going to want to

have their logo on the top you're going to want to have your own logo now for

those of you who don't care I want to say it's probably a pretty cool package

since they give you 20 minutes of broadcast time twice a week for free you

don't get to have any of the special features that are listed here but you

get to have the ability to do the Q&A sessions with the questions you get to

have the face face to face basically the co-hosting option is there which is

pretty cool you get on-screen updates where you can show graphics in your

video so you can talk about a product and pop it up on screen and then

minimize it or do whatever if you looked at my video I showed you a quick demo of

how to set that up so I think for free it's a viable option definitely to try

out but I am a little concerned and I can't give you a definitive answer yet

I'm a little concerned about two things are they going to make it so that the

picture quality is worse for the free people because usually they all do that

they all do that that's it's usually worse than what you're doing now for

example if you're doing 720 it could be as bad as 360 and I've seen some people

using be live for free and their video looks

yeah they've got some neat pop-ups and they can do face-to-face or co-hosting

but the quality is just really bad and that's not going to manifest itself very

well when it comes to viewership so the other question I have is what's going to

happen when you're already struggling with your live session and I just posted

a video about bandwidth and trying to get your router running what's going to

happen if you're already having issues and then you add this overlay because

remember it this is going to require extra memory if you have a computer that

can barely handle live you're going to struggle to do an overlay so having a

good computer having good bandwidth those are all going to become really big

factors even if you pay for it so I have 12 days left on my free trial

they're giving me features that I know I'm not going to get when it's when it's

done with the trial I'm still going to be able to use the program but I'm

probably going to lose my custom logo all the things you see here they're

going to probably take all of these features away right they'll still give

me the basic features but I know when you do something for free like this

you're going to pay the price I don't think the standards necessary at all to

be honest I really don't but you know who knows we'll have to see so hopefully

everything is functional at the end of the trial but that's one of the reasons

I'm not telling you to run out there and get this because I don't want you to run

out and get something that's really really cool and find out that it's not

so cool especially after the trial ends so for those of you who are struggling

it's more important that you work on making your live broadcast as smooth as

possible so possibly so potentially check out my networking video I just

posted about routers and check the comments I put in there maybe you can

get some of your live sessions smoother because that's a nice option right there

and then once you get that running really well you're not having as many

bandwidth issues as much buffering issues then you could look at one of

these overlays and maybe this would be a really cool feature but for those of you

are struggling I can't recommend this right now as of yet there's still some

more testing to be done though I did a test tonight so it turned out pretty

well I'll be doing some co-host testing soon and some scheduled testing I want

to see how this program works and find out if I can really recommend it

IEC 61000-4-2 Setup Overview - DIY Guide Save Hundreds - Duration: 6:38.

Hi everyone! Thanks for joining us today, today we're going to continue our

discussion on the IEC 61000-4-2 setup. This video is going to act as an overview,

showing you how to put the individual components together to complete the setup.

To hopefully, save you guys hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.

Okay, so, should you guys need be a little bit more immediate we do rent, as well as

sell the individual components and a setup. Just keep in mind as we're walking

through here to reference the standard when you guys are manufacturing it, that

way you're sure you're compliant. Okay so take a look here on our board behind us,

we broke it down to three major components; that's gonna be your ESD

table, which is going to include your insulating foil and your horizontal

coupling plane, followed by your vertical coupling plane on your stand, and the

last major component, we broke it down into is going to be your ground coupling plane

as well as your high voltage wiring and resistors. So, let's dive into this.

Okay, here you'll find our ESD table taking a look at the

bottom here you will see that all wood structure holding up your horizontal

coupling plane and your insulating foil, so if you guys want more information on

the actual table construction, you can go ahead and check out our first video in

this series that's gonna walk you through how we built our table, so that's

out there for you. Today, however we're mostly a focus on your horizontal

coupling plane and your insulating foil. So, for our horizontal coupling plane you

will notice some minor scratches with the actual surface, we chose to use

aluminum. Now there is a lot of options out there

copper, steel, however, we chose to use aluminum because it is malleable you'll

see that with aluminum, you do scratch easier. However, it does allow you to

drill through it. So that's gonna be necessary kinda as

you continue with you setup. You will notice right here, where the connectors

for the actual grounding cables. So, again one of the benefits of aluminum

is that you can easily drill through it, as opposed to some other metals that can be

little more difficult. So, that's why we chose to use aluminum. With this size of

this sheet here, you can just go ahead and reference a standard, same with the

foil that's pretty straightforward, as far as the actual size and goes of the

metal and the actual sheet. So, pretty straightforward there so let's go ahead

and let's take a look at that Vertical Coupling Plane. All right it's like the snap

came through again. Okay here you'll find our Vertical Coupling Plane and our stand.

So, we're to go ahead and start with the stand, here removing the Vertical Coupling Plane, all right

so the stand, and there's a whole variety of different ways you can go about

making the stand yourself, or buying it however we just chose to make it pretty

straightforward here we use the same concept as before with the table, wood

pins and then pieces of pine so two by four out there you can go ahead and

check it out. You will notice that it's got two guys right here two pieces

holding that for a vertical Coupling Plane in. What we did is for construction purposes we

get that got those pins put in there clamped it all together and let sit and you

got a nice hold there, that vertical coupling plane isn't moving so, taking a

look here you will notice another hole drilled here, and with all of our setup all

the metal involved is all aluminum. So, again does scratch little easier but you are

able to drill some holes in it. So this is going to connect to your ground

coupling plane this is gonna be connected with your grounding cable, so we'll talk

into that a little bit later. However I just want you to be aware that does

connect right there, so. All right so that's uh that's about it with our vertical Coupling Plane

and stand again pretty easy pretty straightforward doesn't take a whole

long, it doesn't take a whole lot of time to actually put that together. So, let's

go ahead and take a look at our ground coupling plane as well as our

high-voltage wire and resistors. Alright so here you'll find our ground coupling

plane you'll see here we used five different sheets of aluminum with all

our setup today we use all aluminum. So one of the good things about aluminum is

it allows you to drill through it and you'll see here are connecting sheets

are held together with little metal nuts and bolt

there. So you will notice several of them and again when you guys decide what

metal you want to go with you can always test your ground coupling plane

here, got a digital multi meter and just be sure you have a good connection there.

So, okay so that's pretty straightforward depending on what metal you guys use you

might want to get multiple quotes, you can check out our blog it shows you who we

went with for our metal they are all over the United States, as well as

international. So they're also a resource there for you. So, take a look here you'll

find our grounding cable next, these are pretty straightforward the standard goes

into great detail about this. So, you got your high voltage wire, your resistors

just be sure you guys are out there you do get everything that's able to handle

an ESD event so that's what's there for just be sure you're able to do that. So,

if you guys are looking for a quick solution

you guys can of course buy it from us, otherwise check out our blog you guys can order

the resistors, high voltage wire, all that good stuff and make it yourself,

and save yourself considerable money, there lotta money there too as well

alright, so why don't we go out let's put everything together here and they look

at the whole setup. Alright here you'll find everything all assembled you'll

find your ESD table, your horizontal coupling plane, your insulating foil

and here you'll find your vertical coupling plane and your stand and then below us is your

ground coupling plane connected. Alright, we already have tested with our

digital multimeter everything is connected and we're good to go. We have

connected here you'll see from the bottom of our vertical coupling plane our grounding

cable with our two 470K ohm resistors per wire. It's just another

one right here, this is just grounding everything but of course your ground

couple of plane goes into your actual ground. So we're tell a little bit more

about the wire here real quick. So, we actually had a little bit of trouble coming across

these resistors. Pretty hard to come by, these high voltage capable resistors, so

what I recommend is going through a company called Caddok. You'll find that

as well as more information about Caddock and where we got our wire from in our blog.

You find a description, you'll find that in the description right below the

video here so go ahead and check that out if you guys looking for a great

place to some resistors for the set up. Again,

there's a lot of places that may sell these, however depending on the amount

you're looking for, you may not want to buy a hundred so, they're a great

resource for that. we hope you guys learned a little bit

about this IEC 61000-4-2 setup.

Again, we do rent, as well as sell these so, if your need is a little more immediate, feel free to give us a shout.

We hope you guys maybe learned a little bit

and we look for to hear from you thanks

The beginners' guide to Cuba | The New Daily - Duration: 10:22.

Exploring Havana feels like stepping back in time. Pastel-coloured classic cars line the streets, drying laundry hangs from the balconies of crumbling buildings and every corner is bustling with life

It's no coincidence that the Cuban capital city feels exactly like Barcelona in the Caribbean

Cuba was a Spanish colony for four centuries before Fidel Castro led a 1956 coup that established Communist rule that remains today

Communism is the source of Cuba's old world charm but is also the root of the country's pain

Cubans are forced to work in government jobs that pay a meagre $US30 ($A40) a month

Walk into any supermarket and you will find most of the shelves unstacked and a lot of uninterested workers

Cuba also has some of the most restricted internet access in the world. Tourists and locals alike crowd into public Wi-Fi parks to access it

But this is also what makes travelling to Cuba so fantastic. Without internet, visitors are forced to put down their phones and soak up the atmosphere of Havana's bustling streets without worrying about their next Instagram post

Locals agree the country is changing rapidly. The number of private businesses is rising, tourists are streaming in and Cuban society's attitude toward sexuality is becoming more progressive

What you need to know before going Money in Cuba can be a pain unless you come prepared

There are two currencies; the Cuban peso (CUP) for locals and the convertible peso (CUC) for tourists

Money can be exchanged only in Cuba, and the only accepted currencies are euros and Canadian or US dollars

Australian travellers must convert their spending money into one of those before they get to Cuba

Beware though, the government slaps a 10 per cent levy on US dollars. Consider converting your spending money to euros instead

CUCs are available at Havana's Jose Marti International Airport and most bank branches

Further, the Australian government's Smartraveller website warns that credit cards, debit cards and travellers' cheques issued by US banks or Australian banks affiliated with US banks will not be accepted

"This includes all American Express and Westpac Bank cards and some Visa and MasterCard cards, depending on the issuing bank," it says

Visitors must also apply for a tourist card before they arrive in Cuba. Travellers from the US can buy these are their airline gate

The cost varies between airlines, but expect to pay between $US50 and $US100. If travelling from Canada, your airline will provide you a visa during the flight

The third option is to get a visa through a third party before you leave Australia

They're also available from Cuban embassies.Where to eat Cuba isn't renowned as a foodie destination due to limited resources

Nonetheless, Havana has a growing culinary scene that offers incredible dining experiences

La Guarida is Havana's most celebrated restaurant, with a long list of celebrity clientele that includes Beyonce and Natalie Portman

It's on the top floor of an old colonial mansion. Expect a white-tablecloth experience with sensational fresh dishes such as carpaccio, pumpkin tortellini and fabulous cocktails

Hidden away on one of Old Havana's most charming streets, far from the main tourist traps, the brothers at Chacon 162 offer accommodation and also serve up delicious pasta dishes, salads and inventive cocktails

Sit outside while you dine and watch the locals go by. If it's a trendy dining experience you're after, try El Del Frente

It can be hard to get a table here at dinner, so come for lunch and enjoy cocktails on the rooftop and marvel at the old colonial buildings

Opposite the Capitol building, locals and tourists alike queue to eat at Los Nardos

The decor is a little dated but the food, price and service are all unbeatable. The trendy Vedado neighbourhood is also not to be missed

Art, live music and cocktails combine at Fabrica de Arte, an old cooking oil factory that has been transformed into Havana's hottest nightspot

Next door, restaurant El Cocinero is also not to be missed – but you'll need to book ahead

A short stroll away, beachfront club 1830 offers some of the best salsa dancing in Havana

Where to stay Accommodation ranges from five star hotels to Airbnb, which has many options and operates just as in any other country

Our Cuban Airbnb hosts were incredibly warm and hospitable. It is now legal for Americans to travel to the US

The main reason people nominate is "supporting the Cuban people", which can be done just through eating at restaurants and staying at Airbnbs and hotels

Get to know Cuba through a local's eyes Cuba can be confusing to an outsider. The nation's complex communist economy can leave you scratching your head as you struggle to find cafes willing to serve you a coffee at 10am on a Sunday

A walking tour with a local is one of the best ways of understanding the complex social and economic changes Cuba is faces

This guided tour with a young economist is spectacular and ends with a round of Havana Club rum in his grandmother's apartment overlooking the Capitol Building as you discuss life as a Cuban
