Petra Ecclestone is engaged to boyfriend Sam Palmer - 14 months after divorcing husband James Stunt.

The 30-year-old Formula One heiress, who has three children with Stunt, has been dating Maddox art gallery director Sam for a year after being introduced by sister Tamara's husband Jay Rutland.

Sam took to Instagram on New Years Eve to announce the happy news.

He wrote: "A personal thank you to everyone that made opening Maddox Gallery Los Angeles possible. I hope everyone had as an amazing year as us and that 2019 brings lots of love,health and happiness to all. My personal highlights have been opening the gallery in LA with the woman I love and her agreeing to marry me Here is to a fantastic 2019."

Jay, 37, dedicated a cryptic congratulatory post to Petra and his pal Sam on Instagram before they had announced their engagement.

Jay, who is married to Petra's sister Tamara, 34, shared a shot of a man's inner lip tattooed with the name 'Rutland', alongside the caption: 'Congratulations @petraecclestone & @sam_maddoxgalleryla - I can see what attracted you to him...'

In a statement to Mail Online, Petra's publicist said: "'Petra Ecclestone and Sam Palmer are delighted to announce their engagement and look forward to spending 2019 together."

James and Petra saw their divorce finalised following an explosive court case - in which James was accused of making a "gun gesture" to Petra's billionaire father Bernie Ecclestone while in court.

Petra has since won sole custody of her three children with James, daughter Lavinia (born in Febraury 2013) and twin sons James and Andrew, (born in April 2015).

James recently made headlines when he hit out at the Ecclestone family in an interview - where he branded Bernie a "dwarf", Petra a "C-List" star, and compared former mother-in-law Slavica to Shakespearean villain "Lady Macbeth".

The insults provoked Petra's sister Tamara to hit back at James on social media where she blasted: "Unless he stops telling lies about my family we will have to start telling the truth about him."

A Minnesota woman proved there's no hard feelings when she gave her ex-husband one of her kidneys — 20 years after they got divorced.

Mary Ziegler and Bill Henrichs, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, first started dating when they were just 14 years old and got married when they turned 18, only to divorce 24 years later after both growing up and apart from each other.

They decided to remain friendly for the sake of their two children, who were ages 5 and 8 when they got divorced, though.

Now, 20 years after their split, the childhood sweethearts have proven that while their romantic relationship might not have worked out, they'll always be there for each other.

In February, Henrichs — who's been married to a woman called Linda for years — discovered that he needed a kidney transplant, after having experienced kidney failure due to diabetes and hypertension.

'I had probably 30 people volunteer to be checked and tested,' Henrichs told the St. Cloud Times, but many of the volunteers were either too old, weren't a close enough match or weren't healthy enough to give up a kidney.

'Things were just starting to point my direction,' Ziegler told Fox 9, adding that the first set of blood tests showed that 'not only were we a good match but they said we shared some antigens.'

Ziegler said that the decision to donate one of her kidneys to her ex-husband was a no-brainer.

'It wasn't even a decision,' she said. 'You know it was kinda like him calling up and saying can you come over and help us rake leaves. That's how I think of it.'

Ziegler spent the month of September preparing her kidney by watching her diet and drinking a lot of water. 'I gave him a nice fat voluptuous kidney,' she said.

Apparently her hard work paid off, as Henrichs noted that following the October transplant surgery at the Mayo Clinic, 'The doctor did say it was an excellent kidney when I woke up.'

While donating a kidney to an ex seems like an unusually charitable act, Ziegler said a surgeon told her 'it's more common than you think, especially when they're older like us.'

Reasons for this magnanimous organ donation between ex-spouses, Ziegler told the St. Cloud Times, are that 'You share children. You share grandchildren. You're 60 years old and (know) what's important in life now. It's not all the crap that happened before. It's about the rest of your life.'

At the end of the day, the couple said they're going public with their story with the hopes of inspiring other exes to consider a healthy divorce.

'If this story changes one person's actions or attitude towards their ex, it'll be all worth it,' Ziegler said.
