Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux Did NOT Divorce, Despite False Report A Year Ago
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux did not get divorced, one year after a tabloid falsely claimed the couple was headed for a split.
Gossip Cop is looking back at this wrong report, which was originally published on January 28, 2017.
A full 365 days have passed and it's still untrue.
This time last year, Life & Style maintained the couple was "miserable" at Orlando Bloom's birthday party and had hit their "breaking point.
" A so-called "source" was quoted as telling the publication, "Justin was animated and chatting with everybody" at Bloom's bash, but "the moment Jen was there, Justin would just go quiet.
" The outlet's supposed "insider" further contended Theroux "wasn't having fun at all when he was with her.
According to the tabloid's tipster, they had planned on having a "special weekend," but Aniston was "ruining it" for Theroux.
" The purported "source" alleged they were "fighting all weekend about how controlling" Aniston is." The seemingly fabricated insider added that Theroux and Aniston "do everything to keep up appearances," but things between them had been "bad for too long" and they were "headed for divorce.".
As Gossip Cop accurately reported a year ago, the couple was happily married then and remain so today.
At the time, reps for both Aniston and Theroux assured us the article was "ridiculous" and "false." And it's still false and ridiculous.
In fact, as widely reported, recently Aniston and Theroux celebrated New Year's and their marriage in Cabo with friends.
Surprisingly, instead of acknowledging how completely wrong they were about Aniston and Theroux getting a divorce after Bloom's birthday party, Life & Style instead spent the past 12 months manufacturing one fabricated article after another about them.
Just a few weeks later, for instance, the untrustworthy tabloid ran a cover story that maintained Aniston was "dumped on her 48th birthday." Then, halfway through the year, the magazine began to publish a slew of fictitious reports about Aniston and her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.
By the end of 2017, the publication returned to its bogus narrative about Theroux and Aniston living "separate lives.
" That set up a recent report by the same tabloid that contended Pitt and Aniston were "bonding like never before," and "are giving their love a second shot.
" The magazine actually claimed two weeks that Aniston's relationship with Theroux is "on the rocks" and with Pitt going through a divorce, "Brad and Jen could end up remarried.
Pitt and his ex-wife are not getting back together, nor are Aniston and Theroux "headed for a divorce" one year after it was first alleged by the tabloid.
As Gossip Cop has noted before, time is not the friend of bad journalism.
While the magazine's reporting is still miserable, Aniston and Theroux remain happy.
