My name is Eduardo Arce , I come from Mexico
I've been living here in Japan since the 4th of April
I got here about 6 months ago
And I live in a homestay
I went through Go! Go! Nihon to come to Japan
The application process was quite easy and very clear
Everyone I was in contact with really took care of me
As soon as I would send them a message about a doubt that I had or any problem
They would reply to me the following day
The process to find a homestay with Go! Go! Nihon was as easy as telling them
"I want to find a homestay", and that's it
It all went smooth with them, I told them I want this kind of family
I wanted to live in a quiet area, in the suburbs
And they found me a family I could live with in Japan
I also had an experience in a homestay
I went to Australia for 9 months with a Working Holiday visa
and I stayed in a homestay the whole time when I was there
I had the chance to stay with a really nice family and as I like English
I thought that I would become a host myself if I have a spare room to use
when I have my own house after I come back to Japan
First, you don't live alone
There is someone for you if you have any problem
Second, you live with a Japanese family in Japan
so you live the Japanese experience
They bring you to traditional events, they tell you what you can do
They recommend you some places, and you have someone to practice the language with
I had people from 6 different countries in my homestay
They all have a different culture
And the people are always different, you have people who like to get up early
people who enjoy the night more, who go out by themselves
some others are more quiet
It's not only because they're foreigners, every person is just different
I really enjoy meeting everyone
I know I can rely on them while studying the language. If there is anything,
I can ask them. It's their native language, they tell me what is good and what is wrong
He (Eduardo) is studying Japanese really hard from morning until the evening
At the weekend, he's going to the library to study
He does scuba diving too
He also does calligraphy during the weekend, he takes calligraphy lessons
He has a deep interest in learning about the Japanese culture
He goes to various places by himself and we do a lot of experiences together
My experience with the language is that I didn't have any before coming here
I would say that living in a homestay quite helped me
because I have people I can practice with, they help me and correct me
And about the classes in school
I would say that the way they teach is rather innovative
Thanks to Go! Go! Nihon all the process was made really easy
And I wouldn't have had it any other way
Thank you Go! Go! Nihon!
