Auto news on Youtube Sep 29 2018

I learnt a few things from my mistakes in my weekly MA video, so I corrected them and my score improved by a whole 1.2k!

(SD Gear: Void Edge, Celine TM, Pride B) A few things to take note, you need SD leader for crit, and reasonably good framerate for switch spam.

(SF Gear: Blood Dance, DXY TB, Planck M) Battle Start: Hit once or twice with SD, switch to DB immediately, SF QTE, hit twice> shield break, back to SD.

Wait for shield to regenerate, then lock with DB, and back to SF QTE. Without DXY T help, you really need good gear on your SF to break the shield.

(DB Gear: Tyr Wrist, Rinaldo TMB) As you can see, I failed to break the shield in one QTE, this is a huge problem. Having Newton B on DB will help a lot, failing which you just have to RNG crit with SF

Either Void or Blossom should be used due to their burst capability. Void is a little better because of the time lock, increasing your dps window by a second or two.

Take note if you are using void: NEVER QTE to SF from SD. ALWAYS switch to DB before using SF QTE.

The whole fight is just repeating this over and over, and if you do it fast enough you should prevent DOOM from spawning those demonic totems.

(Tapped too fast and failed QTE here, rip)

On the kill transition to 2nd phase: Try to kill her with SD.

(Don't do what I did lol, dash out of position was a mistake >.<) The first clone seems to spawn around here always. Standby and lock with DB once she spawn

(Camera work is IMPORTANT. Adjust your angle so you don't target the other clones cause autotarget is a $#$#!)

If your SD is strong enough you should be able to kill a clone in one shield break provided no totems or other clone cause you to misaim.

Final burst is heavily dependent on your SD power to burst down. If you have void you can just enter with the active to create a safe zone and break her shield first

If not switch to DB and SF QTE to break her shield, so you kill all the stupid zombie servants.

That's it! DB actually REALLY makes the fight a whole lot easier, but you need to learn how to use her properly, your SF NEEDS to be able to do DPS/Shield Break, and having an OP SD severely reduces the times you need to switch.

Sophia Lucia's Guide To "Spreading Kindness" | Radio Disney - Duration: 1:06.

[SCHOOL BELL RINGS]

Good morning, guys.

My name is Miss Lucia, but you can call me Soph.

And today's lesson is about spreading kindness.

Spreading kindness is really important

because you're around the same people every single day.

School's already hard enough as it is.

So why can't we just make it a positive environment

and make it more fun?

I remember just walking to school,

and I was really stressed out because we

had our first test coming up.

And one of my friends came up to me, and she just gave me a hug.

And she goes, "You look really pretty today."

And I go, "Really?

Because, like, I'm stressed out.

I didn't even get enough sleep, and I

don't have any makeup on."

And she goes, "No, no, no.

You're beautiful.

Just relax, and good luck on your test."

And that made my day 100% better,

and it made me want to spread kindness as well.

Even just posting nice comments on someone's Instagram photo

or, you know, telling someone how pretty they look today

or you giving them a hug or opening up a door

or helping them with a bag--

Spreading kindness doesn't have to be this big, huge deal.

It's super, super simple.

I'm Sophia Lucia, and I challenge you to spread

kindness any way you can.

Be bold. Be brave.

Be inspired.

HONG KONG FOOD GUIDE // 香港美食指南 (Hong Kong Travel Guide) - Duration: 8:45.

Hong Kong is a foodies paradise but with so many options it can be a bit

overwhelming choosing a place to eat in this video I'll be sharing some of my

favorite things to eat every time I'm in Hong Kong. First up: Yum Cha. Yum cha

is more than just about the food it's a social gathering place where family and

friends can hang out or catch up over tea and a wide selection of dim sums

since everything is shared I like going to yum cha in a bigger group because

then I can eat a wider variety of dishes some of my favorites include fung jau

ngau tou, fu pei goon and cherng fun next street food now Hong Kong has

some of the best street food in the world a good thing is because the food

is on display even if you don't know what something's called you can just point

to what you want I got the curry fish balls to me this is the number one

street food that you have to eat here and also I have stinky tofu if you're

game enough try this. You can smell it from a mile away but it tastes so good

with these Street food vendors they're usually located on street corners like really

busy areas with lots of foot traffic so what usually happens you order, buy the

food and then you stand to the side and eat your food on the side of the road

it's all part of the charm speaking of street food you can forget

gai daan zai. this is one of my number one things to get every time I'm back in

Hong Kong whenever we gai daan zai my sister always order gaak zai beng too so if

you haven't already tried it why not give it a go

number four by Dai Pai Dong. Dai pai dong literally means big license stalls these

are open air food stores and there are actually few official ones left in Hong

Kong we went to a famous one in central called sing heung yuen to have their popular

tomato soup base macaroni

Next, cha chaan teng. Found everywhere in Hong Kong

cha chaan tengs are known for their quick and affordable meals. with so much

competition getting a certain drink or dish right can really help a restaurant

to stand out from the rest for example take lan fong yuen in central lan fong yuen

is famous for their see mud lai cha which translates to stocking milk tea and it gets

its name from bag they use to make the milk tea

because it looks like a stocking. another popular cha chaan teng is the

Australia dairy company known for their scrambled eggs scrambled eggs is one of

the standard menu items in cha chaan tengs as well as sai dor see, tung fun and your

standard tea, coffee and yin yerng just to name a few

congee shops congee is a rice porridge that is a popular breakfast option my

go-to congee is pei daan sau yook jook one thing I really like about pei daan

suw yook jook is the pei daan. It has this really interesting texture it's kind of like

jelly but it doesn't...

I dunno, it's just this got this really interesting taste to it i just really like

usually people pair congee with other items such as stir-fry

noodles and my sister's favorite jar leung deep fried dough stick wrapped in rice

noodle roll. Noodle shops we've come to on lee at sau kei wan to have

noodles for lunch at these places you can choose your own toppings and noodles

like rice noodle, egg noodles, vermicelli my personal favourite is to have yu daan hor

and specifically the thin type of rice noodle another specific

combination I like having at noodle stores is ngau larm chou min - beef brisket with

thick noodles and it has to be thick I love these noodles they're so good

there is also a tsim chai kee in central this store has been recommended by the

Michelin Guide and is known for their delicious generously filled wontons and

now a special one teng zai fun another Hong Kong experience is to get teng zai

fun which is a bowl of noodles from one of these sampans here they can be a

little bit hard to find but that there just happened to be one here along aberdeen

pier today these sampans move around a lot so you never know where they're

going to be my sister and i spent the first years of our childhood in aberdeen

which is also home to the famous jumbo floating restaurant and though we've

been back many times since this was our first time having teng zai fun so it was

very exciting number eight clay pot rice though it is

eaten all year round clay pot rice is especially popular during colder seasons

you can choose from a wide variety of toppings such as chinese sausage spare

ribs and chicken feet all served on a steaming hot bed of rice

siw larp pou. Siw larp pou are a big part of Hong Kong's food culture. often served with

rice at lunch, roast meat is also a popular take home dinner option as part

of the shared dishes or 'sung' as we call it in Cantonese

next bakeries one thing I love is the smell of bakeries in Hong Kong there are

many bread stores everywhere with a wide selection of bread to choose from my

personal favorites are the bor lor bau, gai mei bao, cherng zai bao, and sai beng. They

look good and they taste good too speaking of baked goods the iconic egg

tart daan taat. there are two main types the shortcrust pastry type like the one

sold at tai cheong bakery so tai cheong is popular and famous for their short crust

egg tarts and they have branches all over Hong Kong but this one here in central

is the main one and theres the flaky crust one which is my favorite

fast food chains there are many fast food chains in Hong

Kong such as dai ga lok and dai fai wood which offer things from Western cuisine

to Chinese and even Japanese dishes also international chain stores like

McDonald's offer many items that appeal to local taste buds some of which

are only available for a limited time like the sweet potato ice cream for

example last but not least desserts there is no shortage of yummy desserts

to choose from in Hong Kong some of my favorites are the typical Hong Kong

classics such as hung dau bing, dau fu faa, zi maa wu, mong gwo bou din and buut zai gou

so, buut zai gou, zi ma gou. this is a pudding with red bean it's sweet and I always

get the brown one and this is a black sesame cake

it's like a thick jelly texture

we're at yee sun milk company in Causeway Bay this place is

really busy all the time it's great for desserts and they're famous for their

double skin steamed milk as well as this is their most famous and I we also got

a ginger flavour steamed milk so we're gonna try that I've got a

cold one of the regular steamed milk and a hot one of the ginger steamed milk. mmm it's really nice. this is made from

milk sugar and egg white i believe.

The texture's a bit like tofu fa but a little bit firmer.

i think this trip we've been quite lucky in terms of not having

to wait in queues for our food cause the trick is we've been going to all

these places that we want to eat at at non regular meal

hours so we've been going to different places at like 3:00 for lunch and like 5

o'clock dinner so it's not the peak hours maybe that's the trick

Alien's Guide to THE LEGO MOVIE - Duration: 5:50.

Greetings, and welcome to Earthling Cinema. I am your host, Garyx Wormuloid.

This week's artifact is The Lego Movie, based on the tiny

choking hazards that humans used to train their army of childarchitects.

The film tells the story of yellow humanoid creature Emmet Brickowski,

a construction worker who is rather

unpopular despite having the voice of a charismatic and bankable leading man.

One day, Emmet sees a cute girl, which naturally leads him to

fall down a big hole. He gets a doohickey stuck to his back.

But fortunately it's the famed Piece of Resistance,

so now everyone wants to hang out with him.

During this chillsesh, Emmet learns

that President Business plans to freeze the world with a weapon

called the Kragle, which is smidge megalomaniacal for a government official.

The cute girl, whose named is Wyldstyle with two Y's

because humans were the worst, returns to save Emmet with some fancy punches.

She takes him to meet Vitruvius,

who is known to locate certain things from time to time.

They believe Emmet is the One.

I mean the Boy Who Lived, I mean the Special.

They visit one of my recurring nightmares to meet with the Master Builders,

who don't need instruction manuals, but could use an etiquette lesson or two.

The cops follow them there and destroy the place, so Emmet

gallantly hides in a couch, then even more gallantly leads an attack

on President Business' headquarters.

Let's hope there's an elevator.

Doesn't matter, because President Business immediately defeats everyone

and sentences them to join a thinktank. Vitruvius tells Emmet

he made up the prophecy about the Special, so Emmet jumps out a window

As luck would have it,

he falls right into a wormhole and awakens in another dimension,

where it is revealed that he and all his friends are toys in some kind of

"toy story."

Turns out the larger conflict is between the kid from The Wonder Years

and his rule-crazy father, actor-slash-entrepreneur Will Ferrell Williams.

They have a nice little heart to heart about easing up on the Krazy Glue,

then everyone has a good cry and we all go home to call our parents.

The Lego Movie may be fashioned as

a movie for children and brandwhores, but it's actually a satirical jab

at the 21st century American political, economic, and social landscape.

President Business is the president, as one half of his name suggests,

but the other half suggests he's all about the bottle line.

This juxtaposition satirizes the effect money has over politics,

and the increasingly blurred line -- you know you want it --

between corporate and political power. In a prime example

of crony capitalism, all media, business, government, and

interpersonal interactions are controlled by a single corporation.

The Octan Energy Corp is a sly reference to the behemoths that

controlled life on Earth: Google Plus, Bing, and, of course,

Tidal high-fidelity, lossless laundry detergent.

President Business is a corporate despot

and wants to maintain the status quo by gluing everyone in place

something I've considered with my children on more than one occasion

He uses his control of the economy to subjugate his citizens,

even using a coin as an actual weapon.

The proletariat is subdued into silence and complacency

with the allure of Taco Tuesday,

proving once and for all that humans were powerless to resist alliteration.

Citizens are also dulled into submission submission by watching,

"Where Are My Pants", a show that pokes fun at an

era of mindless television, not to mention its cheap, short-form,

internet-only facsimiles. And if that wasn't enough to take

television down a peg, the film also includes numerous literary allusions.

An "I've got my eye on you" poster and surveillance camera

call to mind George Orwell's 1984 classic, 1984.

Cloud Cuckoo Land is a reference to a play by Aristophanes called "The Birds,"

featuring a chaotic realm of the same name.

The name "Vitruvius" is a reference to a Roman author who wrote a ten volume work on architecture,

which later inspired Da Vinci to create his famous "Vitruvian Guy,"

The film also features some bizarre existential undertones.

After his death trip into oblivion, Emmet enters a heightened reality

where he realizes free will is an illusion, and he is nothing more

than a puppet being controlled by some snot-nosed fleshmonster.

When Emmet wiggles off the table, he is undergoing an existential

rebellion, refusing to let anyone define him -- be it his societal

overlords, his God, or beloved child star Fred Savage.

Emmet becomes a religious figure, which is appropriate, given that

his name means "truth" in Hebrew. His entry into the "real world"

symbolizes death, so his return is a Christ-like resurrection.

And just like Christ, he ends up stealing Batman's girlfriend.

Ultimately, The Lego Movie is a celebration of creativity and

individualism over uniformity. Emmet lives in a society as rigid

as the blocks themselves, his individual will smothered by

instructions and a terrifyingly catchy song.

As Emmet eventually learns, to become the Special,

"you must embrace what is special about YOU."

Don't settle for being just another cog in some larger machine.

Now this may seem like a harsh indictment of corporations for a

glorified two-hour toy commercial,

but keep in mind that Earth's greatest export was hypocrisy.

For Earthling Cinema,

Im Garyx Wormuloid. Sweet dreams.

Canadian Rockies Travel Guide | Canada's Most Beautiful Place To Visit - Duration: 22:52.

Welcome to the Canadian Rockies!

In the last video we showed you the 4-and-a-half day car journey from Ontario, but now it's

time to jump into the sightseeing.

We had 1 full week in the Rockies, splitting our time between both Alberta and British

Columbia, and all of our days were spent hiking in woods, visiting the lakes, and just enjoying

being surrounded by nature.

This was a family road trip with our trusty family dog Togo in tow, so we're going to

be sharing with you our adventure in what may well be the most beautiful part of Canada!

Alright guys so today is our first full day here exploring Alberta.

We arrived in Calgary late last night so we didn't really do a whole lot or see much of

the city but we got up early today um and we got our pass.

We bought the Discovery Pass which is going to give us access to a whole bunch of parks.

It is good for a year as well which is really cool.

But yeah our first stop today is Banff so we drove into town, parked the car and now

we are walking along the Bow River Trail.

So we are now crossing this bridge here we met a local on the trail who suggested once

we cross the bridge we turn left because apparently there is a really nice trail and he likes

that area so since we don't know any better we're going to follow his advice.

Turn left and see what nature holds.

So we are now walking through the forest.

Well it is a little trail you know lined with trees that looks like a forest to me but it

is super quiet and super peaceful here.

We can just hear the river running to the left and then birds chirping all around us.

This is nice.

This is a great way to start our travels here in Alberta.

Alright so we are just starting the day.

We've basically been walking through the park for maybe 20 minutes and we came across some

benches right along the side of the river.

Why are you wimpering?

It is beautiful.

It is beautiful Togo.

So yeah we just wanted to take a minute and kind of talk about our first impressions of

the place.

Starting with my Dad who has always wanted to visit and come out to the Rockies.

Yeah, that is true.

I always wanted to come.

First impressions is wow.

This place is hard to describe in words.

This is nature at its best.

Anything and everything you see here is extremely beautiful.

The mountains, the rivers, the turquoise colour of the waters.

The trees.

I mean it doesn't get any better than this guys.

You know like I mean anyone that has the opportunity to come and visit this part of the world do

so because I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed one bit.

It is a beautiful place.

It is nature and uh yeah it is taken care of everything is pristine.

It looks like you know nobody has ever been here.

So I recommend it highly to visit.

The Bow River trail is just a few steps from downtown Banff and it follows the riverside

with lots of benches along the way so that you can stop and enjoy the scenery.

We followed it up to the Bow Falls Lookout point.

From there, we walked over to the Banff Springs Hotel.

This historic hotel opened up in 1888 it's one of Canada's grand railway hotels built

by the Canadian Pacific Railway.

If it's luxury you're after, this Châteauesque property fits the bill.

We didn't stay here, but that didn't stop us from admiring the exterior.

After that, we continued over to Canmore.

So it is now time for our second stop of the day.

And we've come over to Canmore.

So basically once we finish hiking a little bit in Banff we went to the supermarket bought

a quick lunch.

You know some bread, salami and cheese.

We ate in the car and then we drove to Canmore which I would say is maybe like 15 minutes

away so it is super close by and yeah now we're just doing some more hiking.

Walking, I should call it walking on this little boardwalk following the river.

It is super peaceful.

The dog is loving it.

He's already jumped in the river a couple of times to drink some water and cool down.

So yeah we are enjoying it.

It is our first full day in Alberta but it is great.

It is great so far.

This particular trail is called the Policeman's Creek Boardwalk Trail.

It's 3.9 kilometers in length and it's a very light and easy walk.

Do you think he is going to take a little swim?

A little dip?

Go swim.

And the one who has been enjoying this the most has been the dog.

And I feel so happy for the dog because it has been in the truck for like four straight

days and today it has done more walking than it has in any other day of its life.

I feel as though its instincts are being awakened.

Its wolf and German Shepherd like instincts are being awakened out here in nature.

And that brings us to Day 2!

Our first stop was Cascade Ponds, which I would describe as one of the hidden treasures

of the Canadian Rockies.

It had glassy emerald waters, a beautiful rocky backdrop, and not a soul in sight.

So it is day two here continuing our road trip and exploring the Rockies.

My sister got married around here in a little forest so she is showing us around, kind of

retracing her steps but yeah this place is beautiful.

Like I thought yesterday was beautiful and now today it is like oh wow we haven't even

seen the best stuff yet.

And we're the only people here so far.

The only ones here so far.

Gotta love it.

You've gotta love it.

Yeah except for some ducks on the lake.

Oh those ducks they had to go ruin it for us.

From there, we drove over to Lake Minnewanka, which has more of a bluer hue in comparison

to the other turquoise and emerald lakes in the Rockies.

Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake 21 kilometres in length, making it the 2nd longest lake

in the Rockies.

It's a hub for water activity like boat cruises, kayaking, canoeing, and well, it's

beautiful.

(Splashing sounds from dog)

And that brings us to day 3.

Alright guys so another day of sightseeing here around BC (British Columbia) and Alberta.

Today we are driving through Kootenay Provincial Park and honestly if there has been like a

theme or a word that we keep repeating over and over again it is just wow.

Wow, wow the whole time.

Um we just stopped over at the Kootenay viewpoint lookout so yeah you can see like the whole

valley, the mountains, forests.

It is amazing.

My parents are struggling with the dog.

They forgot the dog's collar so we've had to like make due with a leash and like wrap

it around his body because all dogs must be on a leash here.

So yeah Togo.

Togo sit with the background.

Toghetti show off your little harness.

Leash situation.

Haha.

So we are stopping at a place called the Paint Pots.

And we are going to be having some lunch here.

We packed a picnic.

We are also going to let the dog walk around a bit, stretch his legs.

He's a little squeaky at the moment.

Whenever we arrive somewhere new this one has to sniff it out and get used to the environment.

Food.

Do you want food?

Isn't that right Togo?

Let's give you a tour of the picnic.

Bananas, triscuits, cheese and salami.

Peppers.

Grapes.

Peanuts.

Peppers.

Crackers.

Olives and artichokes.

Yum yum.

That looks awesome.

It looks like bears tend to roam in this area.

Maybe we'll see a bear if we get lucky.

Maybe not.

So now that we've had a quick picnic we're going to do some hiking.

A little walk in the woods.

Hello there.

I've got to burn off that meat and cheese.

That was a light meal I will say.

There isn't much to burn off.

No that is true.

It was more of a snack and it is better like that because if you had a great big lunch

then you wouldn't want to be doing all these outdoor activities.

Yeah.

You'd want to be taking a siesta instead.

So we are hiking to the Paint Pots.

Mmhmm.

And apparently these are like little lakes, little lagoons where the water has strange

colors I imagine because of the minerals.

Maybe sulphur.

Yeah and I've noticed that there is a few different I don't know if it is routes but

different varying lengths of this trail.

Yes.

And so we're not going to go that far in.

We have a lot to do today but if you want to like make this into a half or full.

Maybe not a full day but a half day activity you definitely can because some of these trails

go I think like five, six or eleven kilometres.

You can hike a lot in here but we want to see the Paint Pots apparently they are like

yellow and orange and green.

So let's see if we can find them.

To find the paint pots, we walked across the bridge and then turned left.

This led us down a forest trail, and eventually to an opening.

The

Paint Pots consist of 3 pools made up of cold mineral springs, surrounded by earth predominantly

composed of iron ore, which stains the ground an orangey-red color.

A nearby stream then flows into the 2 larger pools creating a greenish color.

Later that day we drove to Moraine Lake, which is another glacially fed lake.

It has a brilliant blue-green colour due to light refracting off the rock sediments, and

like most destinations in the Rockies, this one was another stunner.

Even Togo couldn't resist the waters!

Okay okay one more lake to visit.

Lake Moraine.

This is one of the lakes we've just been dying to visit.

Yeah.

It is just beautiful.

It really lives up to its reputation.

I mean just check out the turquoise waters guys.

The color is unbelievable.

Unbelievable.

We were so lucky to get a parking spot.

Yeah.

Like actually every car in front of us had been turned away and suddenly some spots opened

up and like we were honestly going to come tomorrow.

We were able to go today.

So yeah that is something worth mentioning.

We are visiting here on a weekend yes and it is super busy so it is better if you can

come in the middle of the week or like early in the day or late in the day if you are here

Saturday or Sunday.

Exactly or not during peak season.

Yeah.

Maybe later in

the fall.

(River sounds)

Update.

Update.

It is time for our final lake of the day.

Yeah, tell us where are we?

Lake Louise.

Yes.

Probably the most famous of all.

Yes.

We were very lucky to get a parking spot right near the end of the parking lot.

Mmmhmm.

Like we had to wait until someone pulled out.

Haha.

Yeah, so we're visiting this one at 4 pm so people are slowly starting to leave but they

are still you know quite a few people snapping photos.

Yep.

But yeah this lake is probably the most famous in all of Alberta.

It has beautiful kind of like turquoise milky waters.

Mmmhmm.

Right now we are just waiting for the light to pop because the sun is hiding behind the

clouds.

And I think it actually just is right now.

So we better run and do that.

Yeah.

The views from the shore were nothing short of stunning, we had Victoria Glacier perfectly

framed by mountains on either side, and then the brilliant glacial waters with dotted with

red canoes.

Since we spent part of our trip in the town of Invermere in BC, we also did a bit of hiking

around East Kootenay.

One trail we really enjoyed was the Old Coach Trail, which sits between Radium Hot Springs

and Dry Gulch.

This is a 9-kilometre trail that follows the Columbia River from a height, offering views

of the river and the wetlands below.

Mas.

You are waisting it.

Haha.

Oh look at him getting all dirty.

Toghetti.

We finished off that hike by driving back into town and enjoying a break along the shores

of Windermere Lake, where you guessed it, the dog enjoyed some more splashing around.

Next up, another cool stop on our road trip through the Rockies: the Continental Divide.

Hello!

Hey!

So right now we have stopped off at the Continental Divide.

You can see the sign kind of right behind me here.

So in a second we are going to explain to you what that is all about.

Get him up.

On camera.

Togo.

Hey.

Hey.

Togo.

No he is distracted.

Oh he sees a dog.

That is why.

There is another dog that is why.

Okay so another stop on this road trip right now we are standing at the Continental Divide.

The dog is going with my sister.

Um so yeah right now we are standing at the Continental Divide.

We've got this big sign right behind us and basically this line right here divides three

different things.

So let's try to go through them.

Okay.

Number one yeah it divides the two provinces.

Yeah.

Alberta with British Columbia.

Yep.

It divides the two parks Banff National Park and Kootenay National Park.

And also divides the area where the rivers start flowing either towards the Pacific Ocean

or towards the Atlantic Ocean.

Yeah.

Yep.

So pretty cool.

It is fascinating stuff.

Also we are at 5382 feet above sea level.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So that is pretty cool.

And yeah we're just surrounded by mountains, by forest.

A really scenic spot so we are stopping for a few photos and to walk the dog again.

Yeah.

It is an area that is really attractive and for the last hour or so we've been traveling

through part of the forest that has been devastated by the wildfires.

The wildfires.

And it seems that they've been three different fires at different times because some of the

forest has already regenerated.

There is another area where it is beginning to get there.

You know the new trees are about a meter and a half height and the third part is the newest

burnt there is nothing there.

Everything is charred to a burnt wood.

Yeah, it is really sad to see that isn't it?

It is really sad to see but I guess it is part of nature you know.

It is part of nature.

The forest gets to a point where it chokes itself with so much growth that the trees

are just have no place to go.

And this gives the chance for new regeneration.

New regeneration, new growth and a new forest has been born all of the time.

Yeah.

So yep.

And with the fires it is something that happens every single year here in BC (British Columbia)

and Alberta.

And they say that 73% of the fires are started by lightning.

Yep.

Um and I guess the other percentage is either people smoking or campfires or stuff like

that.

Carelessness.

Carelessness.

Yes.

But yeah it is an issue every year.

We are here at the end of the summer and start of fall so a lot of the big fires have already

gone out but yeah you can see that it is scorched.

Temperatures dropping and also some rainfall coming soon will help put out the rest hopefully.

Yeah but we have scene a few smokes.

Like there is areas where it is still smoking in the mountains off in the distance so hopefully

that will be over soon.

Another day of sightseeing here we go.

Yeah.

We are in Kananaskis Country.

Mmmhmmm.

This place is a little more remote.

Yeah.

Definitely a lot more quiet.

It is awesome.

There aren't really any tourists here at the moment.

We are the only ones here.

It is just us and the dog basically.

Yeah.

And a big lake to explore so it is exciting.

A warning.

What does it say Sam?

Let's get a big closer.

It says you are entering a bear travel corridor.

Prevent a surprise encounter by looking and listen for bear signs, make noise, travel

in groups, keep pets on a leash and carry bear spray.

Alright we didn't do the bear spray.

No bear spray so hopefully we don't get too close of an encounter.

And last but not least, our final destination in the Rockies was Kananaskis Country.

Our first stop was Lower Kananaskis Lake, which was a nice place to hike, picnic, and

splash around with the dog.

He didn't seem to mind the icy waters at all!

And from there, we drove to Upper Kananaskis Lake, where we didn't stay quite as long

because the weather started to turn.

But the real highlight was finally spotting some wildlife just as we were leaving for

the day.

And that's a wrap for our Rockies Road Trip!

We still have lots left to see of our home country, but we can honestly say this is one

of the most beautiful destinations in all of Canada.

We hope you guys enjoyed following along, and that you also got a few ideas of places

to visit on your trip.

Wishing you happy travels and see you next time!

The Eyeglasses Guide, Part II: The Right Pair for Your Face & How to Buy - Duration: 12:09.

Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette!

Today's video is our second part of our series on eyeglasses in which we'll discuss how to

determine your face shape and skin tone, how to find the right glasses based on these factors,

and some considerations for buying.

One reminder before we jump in today, you can find the first part of our guide on eyeglasses

here in which we discussed a brief history of how glasses came to be and some different

types of eyeglasses that are considered classics in menswear.

So today let's talk about how to find the right glasses for you.

As we touched on briefly in the last video, there are some different considerations to

take into account when choosing eye glasses over sunglasses which we've talked about previously.

Unlike sunglasses which are typically only worn for short stretches of time, eye glasses

can be worn all day every day.

As you might imagine given this, finding the right pair of eyeglasses that suits your face

shape, your skin tone, and your own personal sense of style can take a little bit of trial

and error but it is possible.

Luckily, most of the same processes that go into choosing a pair of sunglasses also apply

to eyeglasses.

If you haven't done so already, you can check out our previous guides on sunglasses here.

In general, make sure to adjust your expectations to the fact that you'll be wearing eyeglasses

for longer stretches of time.

For example, aviator styles might look good as sunglasses but they might not work as all

day eyeglasses.

So how do we determine what style of eyeglasses is right for you?

Well, the first thing we should do is determine your face shape.

The shape of your frames must play well with the shape of your face and as you might imagine,

a pair of frames that looks good on one man might look completely out of place on another.

There are six basic face shapes that every man fits into, you're either square, round,

oblong, diamond, heart-shaped, or oval.

To find out what shape you are, you will need more than just a mirror.

Ideally, you'll also have handy a pencil and paper and someone to help you.

To begin the measuring process, we'll start at the

forehead measuring across from the widest point.

Remember, don't wrap the tape measure around the curvature of your head.

We're going to be measuring its dimensions as if it were a flat two-dimensional object

since that's essentially how it's going to be seen when people are looking at you.

The tape measure should only be touching one point on your head like a line tangent to

a circle.

Write down the number you measured for your forehead, it goes without saying that we'll

be writing down all of these numbers so you can compare them at the end of the measuring

process to determine your face shape.

Next, move downward to measure your cheekbones and then move downwards still to measure your

jaw line at its widest point.

Finally, measure the length of your face by taking the tape measure and placing it vertically,

first at the top of your forehead by your hairline and then down to the bottom of your

chin.

To determine which face shape you have, look at the numbers you've got and compare them

to the advice we're about to give for how to spot different face shapes.

First, we'll talk about oblong faces which in general are longer than they are wide.

For the most part, the measurements of your jawline, cheeks, and forehead will all be

fairly similar for an oblong face shape.

Smaller frames probably aren't going to do you justice instead you should be going for

a larger frame with some thickness to it.

Sharp angles and concise lines are going to add some definition to your soft facial features

and give you a more masculine look.

So in general, rectangular frames could be a particularly good choice for an oblong face.

Next, we'll talk about heart-shaped faces.

These are basically inverted triangles meaning that you have a smaller more pointed chin

in comparison to your cheek and forehead measurements which are wider and roughly about the same.

The best frames for you are going to be ones that even out your faces proportions so opt

for rimless or semi-rimless frames that are thinner in nature.

If you do want a little bit more thickness in your frame, focus on finding a frame that

points the attention downward toward the narrower part of your face at the chin.

Next, we'll talk about square face.

As you might well imagine, these are pretty much as long as they are wide and the edges

of your face are probably going to be mostly straight up and down or straight across.

In particular, at the jawline, you're probably going to notice concise sharp corners rather

than a more rounded gradual edge.

Since you have a distinctive and chiseled face with bold features, you're going to want

round frames that softened the appearance overall.

You should opt for a circular or generally rounded shape possibly with some frames that

have some variation in thickness at different points around the rim.

Next are oval faces which you can also think of as being roughly similar to the shape of

an egg.

Oval faces are typically longer than they are wide with a wider forehead a shorter jawline

and a chin that's typically more rounded.

In general, be happy!

Having an oval face means that you can wear almost any style of frame with ease.

If you are finding a frame that you don't think looks particularly good, it is possible

that you have a different face shape than an oval and you might want to measure again.

Next up are rounded faces which are also about as wide as they are long.

The difference between a rounded face and a square face is that a rounded face typically

has a narrower forehead and a narrower softer jawline.

To provide contrasting balance here, opt for something that's more geometrically shaped.

In particular, a rectangular frame will lengthen your face a little bit and make it appear

more like an oval shape.

Finally, we'll talk about diamond shaped faces.

If your face is widest at the cheekbones with a narrow forehead and a narrow jawline there's

a good chance that you have a diamond face shape.

With this shape, you want to focus on frames that complement your cheekbones but also provide

some balance overall.

Look for circular or rounded frames to offset the angles of your face and make sure that

they're on the narrower side so they don't elongate your face further at the cheekbones.

Now that you know what frames will complement your face shape, let's talk about finding

your skin tone to give you some ideas about color.

The easiest way to determine your skin tone is to look at the underside of your arm in

natural daylight, don't use artificial light because it might give you a false reading.

You're looking for two important factors here.

First is the overall lightness or darkness of your skin and second and perhaps more important

is the undertone.

There are three skin undertones; the first of these is warm which typically has a green,

yellow, or peachy golden undertone to it, conversely, a cool undertone appears slightly

bluish and the neutral undertone is what you have if you can't really see a particular

color or if you can't determine whether you're one or the other.

If you have light skin with cool undertones, that's another way of saying that your skin

will be light pink with a bluish undertone from your veins.

In this case, you should probably consider lighter colored frames perhaps in shades of

blue.

Darker frames will make a bolder statement but they might have the potential to be more

overpowering on your face.

If you have light skin with warm undertones, your skin will be golden or peachy and your

veins will give a greenish undertone.

In this case, you'll still want to consider lighter frames but they should be in tortoiseshell,

brown, amber, or green, for example, we can use me.

I have light skin with warm undertones and my glasses are amber with slight suggestions

of tortoiseshell patterning here and there.

Again, dark frames are going to make a bold statement in this case, so you can wear them

but exercise caution if you do.

If you have medium colored skin with cool undertones, your skin will generally be pink

and the undertones will be blue from your veins.

In this case, frames in medium to darker shades of red, green, blue, or brown, will probably

look good on you.

If you have darker skin with cool undertones, dark frames are going to work well for you,

black, dark Browns, gunmetal, or deep blues, would be good options.

For a more fashion-forward approach, you can experiment with lighter frames which are going

to give you a more high contrast look.

Finally, if you have darker skin with warm undertones, metal frames, dark Browns, cognacs,

and amber shades, are the ones that are going to work best for you.

Okay so we've established the shapes and colors that will look best for you but the question

still remains, what's the best way to buy a pair of glasses?

These days there's an active conversation going on about whether or not it's best to

buy prescription eyeglasses from an online retailer.

With the rise of game-changing brands like Warby Parker that are selling hip modern frames

with a user-friendly interface, the industry overall has evolved.

So here are a few pros and cons on whether or not you should buy in-store or online.

The biggest advantage to buying a pair of glasses in store is that the professional

staff there has been well trained.

They'll be able to assist you in all of the different elements of finding the right pair

including frames, lenses, coatings, and so on.

If you've bought a pair of glasses in-store, repairing or refitting broken or damaged glasses

is easier too.

You can just take them back to the same place you bought them and you can sometimes even

accomplish this same day which is pretty convenient.

There are a few cons to buying glasses in-store too, however.

The first of these is that the overall selection might be a little bit more limited.

You don't have a whole internet warehouse in front of you.

Optical stores are still businesses after all and therefore, they still have the same

profit motives as any other business.

They might try to sell you an overly expensive pair of glasses.

On a similar note, the pricing can lack transparency.

You might have to make a lot of decisions and choices before being told a price which

can make comparison shopping longer and more tedious.

Conversely, one of the biggest pluses to online shopping is that prices are more readily transparent.

Also, competition between these online retailers has resulted in prices being a lot more economical

for the consumer.

Generally, it's much easier to comparison shop between online retailers as you just

have to click through a couple of web pages rather than going store to store.

One of the biggest drawbacks to shopping online is that you won't have any direct interaction

with an optician or trained eyeglass fitter.

So if your glasses happen to get broken or imaged it may take longer to send them back

and get them refitted.

In conclusion, once you find a pair of glasses that are right for both your face shape and

your skin tone, they're going to suit your own individual personality and they will be

a great fashion statement.

As we said in the last video, glasses are something to experiment with and we hope you'll

have fun with them.

So now that you have all of our information on glasses what type do you plan to buy or

if you wear glasses already what kind are they?

How to Propagate Succulents ~ DETAILED GUIDE to Leaf Propagation PART 1 OF MULTIPLE METHODS - Duration: 7:22.

Hello Everyone, this is Sheila and this video is part one of a series of videos

on the different methods of propagating succulents. So, at the end of this video

series, you guys will have more succulents than ever. And also, towards

the end of this video, I have some very important questions to ask. So let's

proceed to this Part 1, which is all about the most popular way which is Leaf

Propagation. So, Key Point Number 1 to a successful leaf propagation is to pluck

off the leaf cleanly. Please look closely 'cause this is very

important, and the life of your baby succulents depend on this. That's how

important it is. Let me show you a closer look at how you should pluck off the

leaf. There are two factors that affect ease of plucking. Factor Number One,

leaves of dehydrated succulents offer more resistance to plucking, than newly

hydrated ones. So, for dehydrated succulents, when

plucking the leaves off of the mother plant, you have to carefully wiggle it

from side to side, and give it a gentle twist. Factor Number Two, for a well

hydrated one, they come off with very little force. This is very important,

because you have to make sure that every pluck is a clean pluck, meaning that all of

the leaf tissue stays intact. It is okay for some of the tissue of the stem to

come off with a leaf, but none of the leaf tissue, should be left stuck to the

stem. And if you are one of us who would love to have more succulents, do hit the

like button, 'cause I'm so curious to know. Key Point Number Two to a

successful leaf propagation is perfect timing.

The best time to propagate succulents is about five to seven days after hydration.

Remember that we are optimizing success with this simple and easy way. A well

hydrated succulent is still the best succulent to propagate and you'll know

why in Key Point Number Five. Fornow, Key Point Number Three, after

plucking, let your leaves callus over for about

two to five days. You can put them in a box or any dry container, in fact, they

will still sprout roots if you leave them there. Just allow them to form a

scab before misting, and they will propagate. As you can see, whether you put

these on soil or not, they will still propagate. We will talk about the pros

and cons of propagating on soil and in a box later, but for now Key Point Number

Four is to lay them on soil. You have multiple options for leaf propagation.

Propagation involving water is one and propagating on soil. I've done both and

I've had success with both. I have a link in the description below for other

methods of Leaf Propagation that you can check after this video, because in this

video we are focusing on the most popular method of leaf propagation, which

is on soil because it requires less time and effort. As for the pros and cons of

the soil and box, if you plan to wait until the baby succulents are bigger

before repotting them, it is definitely a good choice to lay them on soil, and make

sure that your container has drainage holes, like this really practical egg

carton and that the soil is at least 2 inches deep. As for propagating in a

box, you don't run the risk of soaking the roots, 'cause water dries out faster.

This works too, because the mother leaf is able to provide food for the baby

succulent until they are ready to be placed in a pot. They are also easier to

repot, because the roots are not tangled in soil. Key Point Number 5 is checking

the temperature. Make sure that your propagation is not exposed to extreme

temperatures, which is the scorching heat and freezing cold.

I always keep my home neat, but for these succulents, I'm willing to make an

exception and put them indoors by this wide opening. The best spot to place them

is in the shade, such as by a window, so please take note that they should not

get direct sunlight. Tip Number Six is to miss your succulents, but I would say

don't miss everyday. I would recommend misting every two or three days if

you're propagating on soil. Not missing too often actually encourages growth as

it searches for a source of moisture. Tip Number Seven, if you are propagating just

a few leaves like a leaf or two or three, it is best to just place them near the

base of the mother plant. For low growing succulents, leaving the leaves near the

base offers a really cool and shady spot for the baby succulent to sprout. Part

Two on how to propagate succulents is through succulent cuttings and the video

will be released about a week or two. So remember to subscribe to watch this next

method of propagation, and remember to hit the bell icon to get notified of the

video. So, for now, up next is a question that could potentially change your life.

You may click out of this video, or continue to watch because I think this

part is a really great add on value all the time, because we...yes, that includes me,

we all need to be reminded at times. And so, as always my message for you is all

about self-talk, 'cause your self-talk and how you see yourself determines how

much you can achieve. So, finish this statement, I am and so I will be. And let

me give you this statement as an example. I am driven, and so I will succeed. Or it

can also be something like this. I am a working mom, and so, I would always not

have time for other endeavors. Or, it can be an empowering statement like this one.

I'm driven and motivated, and so, I will make things happen. Or, it can also be

something like this. I'm tired, and so I will be short-tempered.

I am empowered and have deeper understanding for people, and so, I will

be more compassionate, patient, and forgiving. So, please comment your

self-image statement below, 'cause we all have messages to share. And again,

finish your statement I am... and so I will be...Thank you this is Sheila again, your

personal mission, for Succulent Fame. Sending inspirations your way with every

succulent. Remember to subscribe and share this video.
