Hello this is Ron Paul with your weekly update from on the Monday October23rd

This week President Trump revealed his final five candidates for Federal Reserve chair.

Disappointingly, but not surprisingly,

all five have strong ties to the financial and political establishment.

The leading candidates are former Federal Reserve governor and Morgan Stanley banker Kevin Warsh

and current Fed governor, former investment banker, Carlyle Group partner,

and George H.W. Bush administration official Jerome Powell.

Gary Cohn, current director of the president's National Economic Council and former

president of Goldman Sachs, is also on Trump's list.

Trump is also considering reappointing Janet Yellen, even though

when he was running for president he repeatedly criticized her for pursuing policies harmful to the middle class.

Of course candidate Trump also promised to support Audit the Fed and

even voiced support for returning to the gold standard.

But, he has not even uttered the words "Audit the Fed,"

or talked about any changes to monetary policy, since the election.

Instead, President Trump, in complete contradiction to candidate Trump,

has praised Yellen for being a "low-interest-rate-person."

One reason Trump may have changed his position is that,

like most first-term presidents, he thinks low interest rates will help him win reelection.

Trump may also realize that his welfare and warfare spending plans require

an accommodative Fed to monetize the federal debt.

The truth is President Trump's embrace of status quo monetary policy

could prove fatal to both his presidency and the American economy.

The failure of the Fed's post-2008 policies of unprecedented money creation

and record-low interest rates shows our experiment with fiat money is nearing its inevitable end.

All of Trump's potential picks are likely to continue the Fed's current policies.

Even the ones who say they favor higher rates will likely bow

to the wishes of their friends in the financial and political establishment

and make sure any rate hikes are minuscule.

Appointing a Fed chair who will continue, or only make marginal changes to,

these failed policies will hasten the collapse while making the resulting depression more painful.

Some say that Trump could make a radical change in monetary policy by appointing Stanford University professor

and former George W. Bush administration Treasury official John Taylor.

Professor Taylor is a leading advocate of a "rules-based" monetary policy.

Advocates of forcing the Fed to follow specific rules say this will bring stability and predictability to monetary policy.

However, a rules-based policy still allows the Fed to control the money supply

and distort interest rates, thus still plaguing the economy with Fed-created bubbles and busts.

In Washington rules are made to be broken.

Trump would do well to appoint a Fed chair who follows the teachings

of the Austrian school of economics

and thus understands that the only thing the Fed can do to "fix" the economy

is allow the correction to run its course.

He should also use his bully pulpit to pass Audit the Fed and legislation legalizing competing currencies.

Fortunately, even if Trump is not speaking out on Audit the Fed, many Americans are demanding

that Congress vote on and pass this bill.

An increasing number of Americans are seeking alternatives to the Federal Reserve System, such as precious metals and cyber currency.

systems such as precious metals and cybercurrency.

Another positive development is occurring in the states.

Arizona recently passed legislation recognizing gold, silver, and other precious metals as legal tender.

Wyoming will consider similar legislation next year.

If Congress refuses to act to restore a free market in money by auditing and ending the Fed,

more states are likely to pass these laws as more Americans reject fiat currency in favor of real money.

[gentle acoustic music]

- We're here on the southeast corner of Texas.

We are here at Sea Rim State Park,

about 10 miles west of Sabine Pass.

[gentle acoustic music]

We're a relatively small park.

- RIDER: I know, the water is going to eat you.

[laughter]

- NATHAN: We do have five miles of beach.

The majority of this park is marshland,

and a lot of people that come out here to enjoy the park,

enjoy either the beach or they get a chance to enjoy

experience the marsh environment.

[water splash from paddling]

[birds chirp]

The neat thing about the Gambusia Nature Trail,

is your just right above the water.

- BOY: Crab, crab, crab!!

- NATHAN: It's a wonderful way to experience the marshland

environment without getting your feet wet.

- BOY: Alligator, alligator, right here!

Baby alligator!

It's right here, you see em!

There's probably a mama nearby!

- BOY 2: Yeah, your right!

and it's really cool to actually see on in person!

[footsteps]

- It's easy, it's easily accessible,

and it's a nice long trail where you're really isolated

from the rest of the world.

And you don't realize that there is any civilization around.

And it's just a hidden gem I suppose you would call it!

[water splash from paddling]

- NATHAN: We have over 10 miles of paddling trails.

- KAYAKER: It's so pretty out here!

[water splash from paddling]

- NATHAN: There's different canals, lakes, small areas

that people can get out and explore on their own.

You get a chance to observe, be one with nature!

- KAYAKER: Ah, a fish jumped in my boat!!

- NATHAN: We're out here on Sea Rims east beach...

- Oh, I saw one!

- NATHAN: It's a wonderful spot to go crabbing.

I do have some chicken necks that are tied up

to the string here!

- RICKY: It's like fishing!

- What's on it!

Yuck.

- I didn't have any idea it would involve chicken.

I thought you would just cast a net, pull them in,

and it would be done!

[laughs]

- MATT: That's a crabbies!

- MARTY BODDIE: Uh oh, I think you got a bite!

You do, pull it in real slow!

Been in Southeast Texas 15 years, this is my first time!

Lookie there Matt!

- MATT: That's a keeper!

- Oh it's great, the kids are having a blast and we are too!

I think I'm having more fun than the kids!

[Crab grabs chicken neck]

- I got one!

I think!

Hazel, get it, get it, get it!

It's a big one?

- NICOLE: It is fun, I didn't know about it, and I don't think

a lot of people do know about it!

- Got ya little scoundrel!

- Oh, oh got it!

- NICOLE: Especially if you are into crabs, we have caught

so many crabs today!

- RICKY: You see it!

[splash]

Oh I got two!

- NATHAN: Two for one, how bout that!

- Yeah!

Look Dad I caught two!

[waves lapping]

- We come out here at least about every other weekend!

We just kinda grew up out here fishing!

- MRS. REYES: Oh you lost your bait baby!

- ROBERT: It's fun!

Family loves it!

My son loves it!

- R.J. REYES: Almost every day after work, he says,

"Come on were going fishing!"

I'm like, "OK, its fine with me!"

- ROBERT: Oh!

You really never know what you are going to catch out here!

Bull Red, coming in with it!

It was pretty shallow probably second sand bar!

Have to tag this one, this one's over 28!

All right!

- MRS. REYES: Mira!

[inspirational music]

- NATHAN: Sea Rim State Park is a park that not very many

people are aware of!

You're not going to hear all buzzing traffic

or anything like that, you are away from it all,

and you can come out here and enjoy, enjoy life!

Adam Yablonski named 2017 Farmer of the Year by the Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board - Duration: 2:57.

my name is Adam Yablonski welcome to Comanche Creek farms and ranch on behalf

of the Medina County Soil and Water Conservation District we are proud that

Adam Yablonski is our conservation farmer of the year and the state winner we grow

corn cotton grain sorghum oats sesame and cucumbers variety crops and we raise

some grass-fed beef and have a hunting operation there are many farmers in the

state of Texas and so on behalf of NRCS I would like to congratulate Adam with

comanche Creek farms for being the conservation farmer for 2017 that is a

true honor to have a great conservation farmer here in Medina County some of the

technical assistance that we provided here on the Comanche Creek Farms is

improving the irrigation water efficiency this land was historically

flood irrigated and so efficiencies on that may only get to 50 to 60 percent

efficiency and one of the improvements that have been made over over the years

and through conservation planning is to implement micro irrigation drip system

that can improve that efficiency to over 90% efficient on that irrigation water

the Comanche Creek Farm is a great forum it's beautiful out here

you can have the diversity of the hill country along with the flat farmland and

the flat farmland moves up into the hill country and there's plenty of grass out

here for his long horn cattle to graze and he rose along with his corn and

cotton and then he also grows some wheat and oats Adam has always been on the

forefront of using technologies to be able to incorporate that into the AG

operation and one of those that he's recently have has been working with is

using drones and he uses that to be able to do scouting over his fields to be

able to look at how the moisture control if he's doing a good job with irrigating

it properly can use that to scout for pests or other diseases and problems

that might be going on in those crops so being able to use that drone out here is

a advantage that adam has implemented using innovative

technologies we hear Comanche farms are really proud to receive this award it's

a true honor and a lot through the help of the local spoke Water Conservation

District in the NRCS that were able to do what we did to receive this award
