I'm Okada.

I introduce a software DRAGONFRAME. I often use it.

DRAGONFRAME is digital image capture software for stop motion animation.

There is so many functions in DRAGONFRAME.

So, I'll make some movies about DRAGONFRAME.

First, I introduce to the people have never used this software.

What can you do with DRAGONFRAME .

and the process of making stop motion animation with DRAGONFRAME.

First, I show you the setting of equipment.

There is a puppet NARIOMARU on the table.

There is a digital camera front of the puppet.

I use canon EOS 7D.

You can know the camera supported by DRAGONFRAME in official site.

The camera connect to AC power supply adaptor and USB cable.

Usually, AC power supply adaptor is used. Because, in the case of making stop motion animation, The camera was used for a long time.

USB cable connect to computer installed DRAGONFRAME.

After starting DRAGONFRAME, you are ready to start shooting in a minute.

You can make a stop motion animation with very simple setting.

So, I run DRAGONFRAME now.

First, I make a new scene.

I enter the production name.

And enter the scene no.

Take is 1.

I set frame rate to 12.

You can change frame rate later.

Click the OK button, and select the save location.

DRAGONFRAME is started.

This is animation window. You can shoot in this window.

Before shooting, I set the camera parameters.

Click the camera button upper right.

Camera setting window is opend.

You can set the focus and shutter speed, exposue, ISO, etc.

You can set most of the camera parameters from DRAGONFRAME.

I set focus now.

next, I set zooming.

And dial gage in right side is shutter speed.

slide the dial gage to right or left side, you can change the parameter.

And dial gage under shutter speed is exposue.

And this sial gage is ISO under expose.

There parameters is whitebalance and picture size and etc.

After setting parameters, take a test shot.

Check the shot.

I revise the parameter of depth of field.

take a test shot again.

If you finish setting parameters,

rock the parameters.

Click the button upper right. and go back the animation window.

I'm ready to shoot.

You can shoot with enter key.

You can get wireless or wired key pad device. when you buy DRAGONFRAME.

You can shoot with this key pad device.

There are many useful functions in DRAGONFRAME.

I show you some functions I often use.

First, I show you TUGGLE mode.

I shoot a picture now.

and click the tuggle button under left. and change tuggle mode to ON.

I move the arm of NARIOMARU.

The picture with my hand is LIVE view.

Live view and the last picture you shoot are alternately displayed on the screen.

And you can see how long the arm is moved.

I always shoot with tuggle mode ON.

click the tuggle button again, you can change tubble mode to OFF.

There is a similar function ONION SKIN.

slide the bar buttom of the window.

You can see the translucent last picture and live view at the same time.

But, I don't use this function.

You move the bar to center, onion skin mode change to OFF.

And next function is playback.

For examlpe, I take some picture now.

change tuggle mode to ON.

I finished shooting now.

I took 9 pictures.

Number 10 is displayed.

It means you are shooting the 10th picture now.

If you want to watch playback, push space button on keyboard or play button on key pad device.

I playback now.

It like a taking defense pose.

I playbacked with 12 fps.

I change to 8 fps.

The move change more slowly.

I change to 30 fps.

The move become fast.

And next function is memo.

You can draw point or line on the display.

and it is useful for animating puppet.

For example, I drew some red lines in the bottom of display.

There lines are the mark of tiptoe. It is used for walking.

You can animate walking with constant steps.

You can know how many steps to reach right side of screen.

You can know how many seconds to reach there.

The other case, you animate clap the hands.

You have to keep the position of open hands.

draw the line to the outside of hands.

You can know the position of open hands. and you can animate the action of clapping the hands.

There is a timeline in DRAGONFRAME.

You can watch all pictures you shoot.

And you can copy the picture or delete the picture.

There are more useful functions in DRAGONFRAME.

I use mainly there functions.

You can take a pictures with there useful functions.

When you finish shooting, you can import there pictures to edit software like a after effects or premiere.

Image data is in the save location you selected first.

There is image data with serial number file name.

You can export movie data from DRAGONFRAME.

But data will be compressed.

So I think importing image data to edit software should be better.

I showed the process of shooting pictures of stop motion animation with DRAGONFRAME.

You can buy this software about $300.

This software support Japanese. and It can be run in Macintosh and Windows.

You can make stop motion animation efficiently.

If you make good to use there functions, you can animate better.

If you want to make a stop motion animation in earnest.

You may as well use this software.
