TROY AssurePay Check Writing Software- Corporate Edition Installation & Configuration - Duration: 5:37.

This is the TROY AssurePay installation and configuration. I have my installation

package unzipped on my desktop and it's open. We start going to our

fonts folder, right clicking the fonts inside and install. This will be the only

pop-ups that happens. You may have one, two, or maybe even three fonts in here. Number two bullzip

Locate the setup.exe right click and run as administrator. The bullzips purpose

is to generate the Print Preview within AssurePay. It'll install Bullzip

PDF printer as well as these three add on's. Select our language next accept

next next now this is an optional selection that I generally enable I do

not create a start meeting folder then next and this will install the Bullzip

as well as the three add on's and this process generally takes about five

minutes

After we exit the setup we are going to close the pop-up browser window. When

that's finished we go back folder to our AssurePay. Right click the setup run

as administrator.

Click Next accept next next install. This process only takes about 5 minutes

click finish and that is it for the setup. Next, we'll launch the software, login

and do a couple of initial configurations. Once we're at the login

screen these are super user padlock

when we get into the software the initial configuration we will set

where the software will select the batch files for import and also set up a

printer so first of all we'll go into file integration uses top drop-down

select one of our accounts and this folder location is the location that the

files will be located in for now I'm using my TROY databases and I'm looking

for text files. Next, and go into settings to the printers tab and click a

new item from here you can use this drop-down box up to printer level to

your machine or you can use your own name just like the print server and printer

that way but you have your printer in there we click Save and from here there

are two options we can either go back into the printer itself and assign

individual accounts and trays or we can use this section up here to do it for

every account you can also do continuation or overflow the reports or

copies then we click Save then close

if everything set up correctly we can click our import button double click on

an account and then that should take us to the folder we set up with the list of

files we can import them there's my two files or two long one real quick you can

get a status down here of the process and here is our batch information then

this is just information about the file itself account went into the date number

of checks total values if we click our view detail button it'll activate our

batch details tab and here you can have more information about each individual

check from here we can select one, multiples or individuals and either

prints or preview them if ever we need to we can also use this selection over

here for override printer to temporarily send a print job to a different printer

Once you have everything done and you're done with a batch you can either leave

it there for future processing or reprint or you can remove or archive it

depending on what your needs are what you're done in the software you can just

close it without hitting the red X in the corner and then you have to log out

and then the red button actually shut it down thus closing the connection to

the database and freeing up your license for another user if you have any

installation or support questions please do not hesitate to contact our TROY

technical support team at the information provided on the screen

Max's Minute: Software and Infrastructure as a Service (Part 2 in a Series) - Duration: 5:00.

>> MAX: I'm going to talk about the future of technology in higher ed.

>> TITLE: Max's Minute: The Future of Technology in Higher Ed Part 2: Software as a Service

and Infrastructure as a Service

>> MAX: Hi, this is Max Davis-Johnson, Boise State University, Office of Information Technology.

Today I'm going to, this is the second of a multi-part series where I'm going to talk

about the future of technology in higher ed and hopefully share how Boise State is preparing

for the future.

I'm going to focus today a little more on infrastructure, enterprise things that we're

doing.

And so when you start thinking enterprise applications, you start thinking of the Cloud.

And, in general, higher ed is moving towards the cloud.

When we talk about the cloud and applications, we're talking about something we call software

as a service, or SaaS, you may hear it referred to as Saas.

>>TITLE: Software as a Service ( SaaS )

>>MAX: And, a good example for Boise State is Google Apps--Google Mail.

We've been using that since 2008, and that is a SaaS product--software as a service.

You're going to see education in general start moving to their enterprise system in

cloud products.

The major vendors in this area Oracle PeopleSoft, which we use, Work Day, some of the other

student systems are all moving to cloud, or SaaS-based systems, and Boise State is no

exception.

Our financial system is now a cloud-based system.

We are starting a project this fall to move our HR/Payroll, what we call HCM, Human Capital

Management, to a cloud-based system that will be a multi-year project.

Also, we'll be moving at the end of the fall, our current Blackboard environments

to a SaaS environment.

In other words, it will be hosted in the cloud.

There are some nice advantages to being in the cloud.

It gives you the opportunity to be on the current release with continuous improvement.

You don't have to worry so much about the backend plumbing of these large applications.

You can focus more on using the application, and configuring it to meet your needs.

We still have to be very concerned with these applications as far as proper access, proper

identity management, moving data back and forth.

So it doesn't necessarily get easier, but our jobs do change, hopefully, not hopefully,

but at the end of the day we're offering a better product, a higher availability, a

more modern product as we move forward there.

>>TITLE: Infrastructure as a Service

>>MAX: Another thing that you're going to see when we're talking about the Cloud,

is the idea of infrastructure as a service, i.e., servers and storage in the Cloud.

A primary example of that is Amazon Web Services, or AWS, or Microsoft Azure, and there are

certainly other examples.

But you're going to see more and more institutions leveraging these services in the Cloud.

Boise State we've already started to leverage some of these services.

We host some of our applications like our website, we do our development, some of our

web applications that we developed are AWS, or Amazon Web Services-based.

Another good thing about the Cloud is the fact that the Cloud technically is very secure.

We have a very good security team here at Boise State.

The reality is they need to sleep where a large Cloud provider has an army and they

do not sleep.

But what you're going to see is we have a private cloud basically here on campus.

In other words, it's a highly virtualized environment very similar to what's in the

cloud like AWS, and over time, our ability to move from our private cloud to the public

cloud will be fairly seamless.

It will be fairly transparent.

We will be able to pick and choose where best to put data, where best to run certain applications

and our ability to move from cloud to cloud is only going to improve.

And that's the way it's going to be for other institutions too.

And that's really the direction of technology at a macro scale.

Until next time, thank you.

Matt Comi, Senior Software Developer, Formalytics on simulating 2d footage in a 3d world - Duration: 2:38.

My name is Matt Comi and I am a senior software engineer.

There isn't a lot of exciting stuff around Perth anywhere close to what Formalytics is doing.

Hardly anybody who are taking apps and combining them with really high tech stuff

and I think just being able to mix those two worlds and also like get down

to the nitty-gritty because as devices get faster the amount of attention that

you need to spend on the details sort of gets a little bit goes out the window

because you just kind of like can phone it in with the sort of stuff that

we're doing you could pay special attention that everything is done well

and efficiently and being able to like bridge those two worlds is really exciting

It was very difficult in the past to actually explain to the user how

to mark out the goals and how to then place the camera such that it can see

the goals see the ball mark out the penalty spot all of that and it was just

this out of box solution of why don't we try using augmented reality,

so I'm excited about this technology because basically there's nobody else who's done

it to the extent that we've managed to do it so far and it's led us to forget

how ahead of the curve we are when we see the nearest competitors can't do

hardly anywhere close to what we're doing it reminds us that this is pretty special

Dealing in this world of unknowns with a single camera in fact

many different varieties of single camera so... many versions of iPhone

and to then establish not only where is the ball in a 2d plane which is you know

the actual video but then re-established where that ball is in 3d is just I think

it would be not completely out of the question to look at that and say it's

an unsolvable problem and we're at the stage what we're just trying to like

minimize the level of error, yeah so so in this stage we have a very accurate

solution that we're only trying to improve further.

As far as we've gone there's much further that we can take it, there's so many opportunities...

we just need time and money to explore and really just you know smash

because yeah we've been doing soccer but heck there's cricket, basketball...

we're all really itching to just really establish ourselves in that space and

just show how it can be done
