Auto news on Youtube Oct 2 2017

it just dries and stretches out I don't really know how to explain it but

you can definitely see that there's a curl pattern consistent throughout the

strand but it's a little bit more difficult to see because of the

frizz hey what's up you guys welcome to my channel or welcome back I'm t'keyah

so in this video I really wanted to try out this bentonite clay mask now I've

done it in the past and I also filmed it for my channel so this is the last time

I did the clay mask on my hair my hair was a lot longer then but it was also

damaged so this is what heat damage looks like on my hair very stringy very

wavy just inconsistent curls so I really wanted to try this mask again

post cut I want to see if this mask is gonna define my curls and just exactly

what it's gonna do my hair also can get weighed down very easily my hair might look

like it's really dense and thick but I have finer hair so I just want to see if

this is gonna make a difference I'm excited to try this so if you didn't

guess by the title I'm doing the bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar

hair mask so this mask is supposed to be great at detoxifying the scalp in your

hair it's also supposed to be great at clarifying your hair so if you're

looking for an alternative to shampoo you can try a clay mask as well so since

the haircut I actually really enjoyed working in sections although my hair is

shorter it's thicker ish because those straighter way

your ends are gone so it feels a lot thicker okay so now I am about to mix

the ingredients together so I'm going to use a plastic spoon a plastic bowl you

want to make sure that you're not using metal some type of reaction will happen

I don't know but just don't use metal I'm starting with the bentonite clay

which is the Aztec healing clay I'll put a link in the description box because I

got this on Amazon it's a pale green color

I don't really measure it out or I'm not going to measure oh Lord

now I am going to do kind of like a DIY clay so I have my apple cider vinegar

it's the Bragg brand and it's with the mother which means it just has all of

that good stuff which you can see at the bottom there give it a little mixing so

we've got most of the mother I'm using mostly outside I'm going to here for the

liquid and it should visit when I do this or start to fizz a little bit and

then the aloe vera juice I'm using is the lily of the desert brand alright so

this is what the mixture looks like right now it's nice and creamy and this

is pretty much the consistency you want you want to thick but creamy consistency

without the lumps it took a hot little minute so give it this creamy just to be

a little bit extra and just to add some more nutrients to this mix I'm actually

gonna take some of my DIY hair growth oil and I'm not making a video on this

and to I am for sure that you know the mixture

works well so there's the oil mixture

really frizzy and we'll see if this is gonna work it's real creamy so I'm

starting off by putting the clay mixture on the perimeter of the section and then

I'm going to split that larger section into smaller sections and then make sure

I work the clay into those smaller sections the whole point of this is to

remove the build-up the toxins and to clarify my hair so everything needs to

be coated as I'm going I'm also going to add more water from YouTube so like I

said I'm working in smaller sections and you want to make sure if your hair

starts to dry or if the clay mixture starts to dry while you're putting it on

just go ahead and spritz a little bit of water or aloe vera juice whatever you

prefer and then just continue to work the clay mixture in so I'm spritzing my

hair with just regular water I'm working that in I'm going to split that larger

section add more water and work that in just so that the clay can glide on

easily and then I'm going to finger detangle in my last video a lot of you

guys recommended that I finger detangle and like I was saying in the comments

section I've already been doing that I've already stopped with the combs and

the brushes on my wet curly hair and pretty much in general so finger

detangling is the way

although this mask is great for all hair types

it's especially beneficial for people like me who have finer hair and if you

really have a hard time defining your curls if frizz is just always in the way

this mask is gonna help with definition removing that product build-up because a

lot of the times the ingredients on in these products just isn't that great and

it latches on to our hair so this is really gonna help free up your curls and

add to that definition now that this is pretty much all over my hair I am just

going to put two plastic caps on another went on just to trap in some heat all

right so I'm gonna let this stay on for probably about 30 minutes I'm not going

to let it harden too much and then I'll come on and show you guys maybe before I

rinse it so I have never seen my hair to find like this with no product okay this

is not have to be like a once a month type of treatment oh my gosh what are

you saying you guys know what the what my hair usually looks like right here

everywhere is defined all up in through love

as you can see I have multiple textures so let me see if I could show you guys

so these like front sections in this area the curl is pretty much like this

we get to the back sections which I kind of showed you guys before but that's

when we get to those really really really tight curls if you can see these

on that surface focus but it's just like a real inner curl I don't know if y'all

got the right back shot that's one stay on camera whoa

I hope you guys found this video helpful definitely check this heretics out if

you're looking to define your curls so yeah if you are interested in all of

this check the description box and leave your comment let me know if you guys

have tried this if you guys use this I will see you guys in my next video

Pregnancy and Cosmetic Procedures: What Treatments are Safe, and What Should be Postponed - Duration: 7:36.

Thank you for your question.

You submitted your question without a photo but you're asking essentially how long after

giving birth and breastfeeding is it appropriate to do CO2 laser and fillers.

And you ask more about, in the substance of your question about how does pregnancy affect

the skin and what kind of impact there could be if you undergo a laser procedure and injectable

filler.

Well, I can certainly share with you how I guide my patients who very frequently ask

the same question in our practice.

A little bit of background, I'm a Board-certified cosmetic surgeon and Fellowship-trained oculofacial

plastic and reconstructive surgeon.

I have been in practice in Manhattan and Long Island for over 20 years.

Rejuvenating the skin and rejuvenating the face is a very big part of what I do every

day in our practice.

And all the tools of the trade such as the use of lasers and injectable fillers and neurotoxins

is essentially how I help my patients look their best every day.

So to just simplify the effects of pregnancy in terms of the relative risk of the CO2 laser,

I would first start by asking what you want to do that requires CO2 lasers.

Generally speaking, we use the CO2 laser or the Erbium laser for essentially wrinkling

and discolorations with the secondary benefit of collagen induction.

So the question is, what are the potential risks related to pregnancy?

Well, one in particular has to do with pigmentation.

There's a condition called melasma which is associated with pregnancy often referred

to as the mask of pregnancy.

So the effects of estrogen and hormonal changes on the skin.

Pigmentation is a variable that's important to consider before undergoing a procedure

such as CO2 laser.

Many times, for things that we would maybe consider a CO2 laser for particular discolorations

related to conditions such as sun exposure or sun damage, we can use alternatives that

are non-ablative such as the Q-switch laser and basically try to minimize the effect of

the thermal energy on the skin.

Essentially, it is basically a rule of thumb to allow some time to transpire and when it

comes to something like a laser treatment.

And so I would say 6 months to go by just to get some sense of what the skin looks like

and what is the stability is before doing some kind of laser type of procedure.

The other thing about filler is that, as far as fillers are concerned, injectable fillers

that add volume such as anything in the hyaluronic acid family is pretty much safe to do at any

time.

I would say that dealing with the changes of hormonal levels after delivering, it's

still going to have an effect on facial volume.

So, unless someone has a very thin face or a particular area of concern, we can either

choose to wait or conservatively add volume as is appropriate.

As far as the other options such as the use of a neurotoxin like Botox®, Dysport, Xeomin,

essentially that particular area is probably safe at any time.

There's no data as to the relative risk for breastfeeding women but essentially because

it's a localized treatment, it is very unlikely that there will be much in the serum that

would eventually be passed on to the baby.

So I think that you can consider, if you are used to getting Botox® with some consistently

or you like the effects whether it's getting a Botox® brow lift or Botox® lip lift or

doing the things that go with Botox®, you can probably get that done a little bit sooner.

I think that the doctor you work with in terms of your injectables, lasers, should have a

sense of your history.

When we see our patients, a lot of times, our patients, we won't see them for a while

and they'll tell me that they just had a baby and of course, I have their photos before

and I do comparisons and I look at any changes and I try to counsel them accordingly.

But generally speaking, allowing about 6 months or so to transpire is a pretty safe zone after

which, you're pretty much close to your pre-pregnancy baseline.

Again, depending on weight gain or other variables of course comes with this type of event in

one's life.

So, I think the take home message of course is, have a doctor who will watch you and have

a sense of what is appropriate.

And again, ask yourself what specifically do you want to achieve with the CO2 laser.

You know, one last example, if someone wants to have just a little bit of CO2 laser, fractional

CO2 laser under their eyes to refresh any wrinkled skin, well that should be pretty

straightforward and it's not likely to get significantly hyperpigmented depending on

your skin type.

So it just goes back to essentially more about specific strategies and what kind of outcome

and understanding what variables have an impact during this period of time.

So I hope that was helpful, I wish you the best of luck and thank you for your question.
