Fergie gets tearful on TV over divorce from husband Josh Duhamel

Fergie got visibly tearful over her split from husband Josh Duhamel during an interview with Wendy Williams.

Fergie and Josh separated after more than 13 years as a couple earlier this year. They released a joint statement in September to insist that they remain united as a family for their 4-year-old son Axl in spite of the split.

In a recent clip from her upcoming appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, the Black Eyed Peas star admitted that she thought theyd be together forever.

It wasnt my plan. I wanted to stay together forever, said Fergie. I love Josh, hes the father of my child.

We forever have that project together and were doing the best we can, Fergie tearfully added in the episode, which airs in the US on Thursday (October 26).

The couple met when the Black Eyed Peas filmed a cameo for Duhamels procedural TV drama Las Vegas back in 2004, and got engaged three years later.

A wedding followed in 2009, with the couples first child Axl arriving back in August of 2013. Before Axls birth, Fergie publicly sang her husbands praises as a soon-to-be father.

With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year, Fergie and Josh Duhamel said in a statement when they split.

To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.
