Auto news on Youtube Oct 1 2017

Hello and good to see you again.

This video's again about bullet journaling.

I was questioned recently by a lovely subscriber

who wished to know more about the pens I use for bulletjorunaling.

So I decided to do a bullet journal supplies video.

Let's start. Most important is the bullet journal book.

Here I use like the one befor a notebook by Flying Tiger.

It was quite cheap but the disadvantage is

that the are ghosting which means that

the writing from the back shines through,

a slight shadow from black pens.

BUT it depends on the pen you are using.

At the beginning I had one by the brand REX

which was a black fineliner.

But if I pressed a bit the ink bled through.

I thought this was normal when using felt pens

but then find that it not have to be so

and that pens can behave different.

The next pen I used is not here as it runs out was an STABILO pen

made out from recycled plastic which is by the way a good point to think of.

as it is empty, a STABILO marker. I'm going to buy it again as it was of I think 80% recycled plastic.

And it behaved well and lasted for months or nearly a half year.

So I was content and can recommend it.

However if you want to write or draw smaller to save space

there are other possibilities

I began to buy thinner fineliner like this one by FABER-CASTELL.

It's the ECCO PIGMENT PEN, thickness 0.3

It behaves quite good but already seems to be nearly empty.

So I am not sure about prize-service-ratio but the pigmentation is very good.

So I got an alternative I discovered on Instagram, a MICRON pen.

It's a chinese brand so it's not good for the environmental footprint

but available in allll sizes from 0.05 to brushpen...

and super cheap, below I link my ebay shop where I have them from.

Disadvantage: Last time shipment time was more than a month.

So if it's urgent go to a local store and buy a intermediate pen i. e. by FABER-CASTELL.

FABER-CASTELL is a good keyword as I've got some awesome artist brush pens from lovely Tiffy,

we did a package exchange and I use the pens mostly for lettering.

There came with different stroke thicknesses

also the pigmentation is quite good.

But like the other FABER-CASTELL pen they fast were empty.

Of course you can use normal felt marker if you don't want to buy costly ones

i. e. here I got some by TCHIBO, mostly for Bullet Journal drafts.

But they are not water resitant in opposit to the fineliner

which takes us the the next topic: watercoloring.

Watercolors - are great! I developed a taste

actually since the last but one bujo ... cookie setup.

I've got mine since school. I was in a Rudolph Steiner school so

they took care the colors have a certain quality

also ecological and the application of the colors is very good also ecological and the application of the colors is very good

in contrast to the ones in my other plastic watercolor case. so there's a very obvious difference between them.

maybe there are good but cheap watercolors but I recommend to invest

in good colors to obtain the optimal color result.

What I think also is important are brushes.

I got I think cheap ones but am very content with their behaviour.

They are by the "brand" DA VINCI / FIT FOR HOBBY EXTRA"

They are of artificial hair, they dispence and transfer the color quite good

and spread it evenly. So maybe you not have too much in good brushes.

Also concerning watercolors: not beautiful but useful:

a glass or surface to mix the colors

as unmixed colors do not look... animator... no, animateurish...

Anyways, they look more natural being mixed, "broken" like my drawing teacher said

than applying them directly without mixing, so this is a recommendation.

Oh, I forgot one kind of marker: A lighter marker like these from STABILO

they are quite inconspicious but make up a lot when drawing around simple boxes

like a shadow or a 3D effect so they look more interesting.

Before drawing into my bullet journal with non-erasable pens I use a pencil.

In this case a soft pencil which in contrast to the hard ones seems to be to be better erasable. In this case a soft pencil which in contrast to the hard ones seems to be to be better erasable.

This one is a 3B and also a good eraser (there are also different eraser qualities).

You can also use wooden pencils - I won't skip them as I used them sometimes.

In general the cheaper ones (i. e. by FABER-CASTELL) have a better color application.

Which is because the are better pigmented and you don't have to press them too hard.

And there are also some who can be mixed with water (like watercolors again) so the color looks quite smooth.

before I do anything in my bujo I use a notebook where I practice, sketch out

and try out what works and what not.

In this case I got a very good notebook which I call very good as it has white rulings on a light grey background.

So if you photograph it and edit it the ruling disappears in contrast to black ruling.

At the moment I do not remember the brand but I'll find out and write it in the infobox below.

What's also important for me is my smartphone

I look for inspiration for general structure, not for the themes which I always create by myself.

And I do search google for i. e. flower photos I use as templates but I do not copy others main ideas.

I was also questioned just yesterday or the day before by a subscriber, Luisa,

where this stencil is from I used in my last bujo video.

I couldn't actually find out as I got it since I was young (like obviously many things).

but researched some similar ones, not the same like mine which have lower, upper case letters and numbers.

I'll link them in my infobox, they are by WEDO so you can look as they got different versions.

BUT I could produce stencils like this one by my own as my ETSY and DAWANDA shops are ONLINE!

Take a look by the way, I also link them below because I got beautiful bujo printables for you.

I would be very happy if someone buys that.

If that video has helped you in any way please leave a thumb up :)

Anyways, see you in my next bullet journal video and have a good day!
