- [Announcer] Puck to the line.
Subban now it's centered.
Oh, what a stop by Nilsson with the glove.
It looked like a sure goal.
But he did the splits, reached up, and took it away.
And Smith can't believe it.
- For a goalie, it's a big, big part of the game.
It's the mental aspect.
I mean, maybe get in your zone,
prepare before the game the way you need.
Do all the small details before the game
that gets you in the right spot before the puck drops.
And then once you get out there just focus
and you're doing all the technical stuff right.
It's all little things, but that,
all those small details that add up to one big thing
and that's usually the difference
between having a good game or a bad game.
- [Voiceover] Calgary has the chance
to come away shorthanded.
Frolik, he's got two shorties already,
and he's stopped there by Nilsson.
- When you're really dialed in
and you're in the zone it feels like
they shoot these big, maybe basketballs.
I mean, you're tracking the puck so well,
so it's almost like it's going in slow motion.
A big part of the goalie game is
to get your focus level at the way you need to be.
Getting that right balance, I mean, it can't be too high,
but you can't be too low either.
You gotta find that sweet spot.
You feel calm and patient but 100% focused at the same time.
- [Players] Come on guys, come on boys.
- Almost like the standard of the team
playing on the other teams have
come into Vancouver to play against the Canucks.
You always knew it was gonna be a tough game,
and it was gonna be tough coming here
'cause it's a big hockey city.
It's a big hockey market.
And that was the kind of expectations I had,
and it's been nothing short of that.
When you come to the rink, you need to be ready to work,
and work hard, especially the Sedins.
If you look at them, they come to the rink everyday.
Everyone looks up to them and they see they do it
and then everyone else takes after.
- [Announcer] Now he puts one in front, Sabotka dekes.
What a stop by Nilsson with the left pad.
- You know it was something I was dreaming of
at a young age when I was in kindergarten
or when I was five, six years old.
So honestly it's a lot of hard work along the way.
I mean, it's a long way coming here.
Growing up from juniors to play hockey in Sweden,
and then I played in the American league.
I went to away to KHL
and then came back here, so it's a long process,
and it's a lot of hard work.
You have to really put in the hours
and work hard every day when you're on the ice
or at the rink or in the gym, or whatever you do.
But with that, if you're not enjoying it,
you're not having fun...
If fun is not the key factor, it's tough to make it.
