Hi Everyone! I'm Steve with Steve's POV.
It's early Sunday morning.
There is a car event just about every Sunday morning.
Today I decided to take out the silver/brown VIP Toyota Crown!
Let's check its power getting on the freeway!
It sure is smooth but not a ton of power...
It's not a fast car...
but it sure is a nice cruiser!
This Crown is the most original and umolested of the 3 VIP cars I have here.
This car is still the closest to stock of all 3 cars...
As soon as I took this car out yesterday I started getting thumb's up!
I just wish this car had a V8 engine in it...
One thing I really like about it...
at 115 km/h at least it isn't making that speed warning sound the Cima makes...
I am thankful I don't need to hear that noise!
A VIP luxury sedan like this should be able to cruise along without speed warnings like...
It drives me nuts!!
Thank goodness this car doesn't make that annoying noise!
A car like this should be able to cruise at 200km/h or higher without annoying bells ringing! LOL
Just joking... but either case, this car is really smooth driving.
I really wanted to lower this car a bit more than it is now..
But who cares right now! It's Sunday morning... Let's have some fun!!!
Being able to drive different cars every week is a lot of fun!!
and this Crown is definitely a fun car to drive!
You remember the old grumpy tire guy?
The guy who I asked to lower this car initially?
He did a good job with the white Crown so I figured this car would be fine too...
When I called him he said, "it came out perfect."
I asked him to send me a picture so I can make sure it is sitting right...
I got the picture and called him right to say it was still sitting too high!!
He told me, "It's a lot lower... just like the white Crown."
I think tire shop guys everywhere are the same...
Old and grumpy!
Maybe there are happy tire guys somewhere... LOL
"It's lowered!"
"No, it's definitely not lowered enough!"
He finally agreed and said he would lower it more.
Several hours later or possibly the next day he called me...
"It's lower now Steve! It's perfect!"
He sent me another picture...
Sometimes you just gotta give up...
Arguing gets you no where...
It's obvious to me it isn't as low as the white Crown is, but to him it was exactly the same!
But arguing about it helps nothing... we aren't even talking the same language!
Maybe I'm being too difficult... maybe it's just fine...
But my heart tells me different...
It just doesn't look like the way I pictured it to be...
He said he couldn't lower it more because it is on springs and he couldn't cut more...
If this car was on coilovers it would be easier to lower...
I get it.. it's not easy to cut springs but that's exactly what we did to the white Crown and it came out perfect!
As the customer I was hoping for more satisfaction from the work I paid for.
But I can't say anything...
Sometimes it is best to not say anything... learn your lesson and move on...
The best upgrade for this car will be coilovers one day.
It will sit low and ride good too!
And with coilovers I can do it myself DIY and not rely on someone else.
The stance is the only small complaint I have about this car...
oh yeah... and grumpy old tire guys!
