Today we are doing the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway which is highly recommend in New Plymouth

so that's why it's one of the first things we are doing here.

I love New Plymouth and I am so pumped to be here, we are going to have a blast here.

We are in Kawaroa we are going to Te Henui Stream and we also want to see the Wind Wand.

And the next attraction which isn't technically is not an attraction but we find it pretty

fun is there are two tube slides coming down the hillside which land pretty much onto the

Coastal Walkway so obviously we set up the cameras and we do some slide competitions

who can slide the fastest.

We've walked on the [New Plymouth] Coastal Walkway for quite a while but now we see the

coastal walkway does a big sort of loop and we can see a shortcut we can walk.

The tide is low and Laura, what about we cross that way?

Yeah.

We jump over the little fence and stat climbing ourselves on the rocks and make our way through

a lot of little rock pools and there is a lot of baby mussels and there is a lot of

seaweed and every rock pool has different shades which is pink and red and green and

it's really cool it's really really great little path to take to kind of scavenge around

and move around and everything so yeah, it's pretty awesome.

And Laura stops about a million times to take some pictures.

Every single time she sees a shiny colour she wants to take a picture of it and honestly

it does look gorgeous.

So the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway wasn't coastal enough for the both of us so we decided

to take it even more coastal. by walking literally on the coast.

And we are tip-toeing our way over these rock pools cos we don't want to damage anything

but there's lots of wildlife going on in here.

Admittedly though, when it gets onto rough terrain like this I'm really slow at walking

over the rocks cos I'm looking at my feet the whole time.

I'm like Bambi walking for the first time.

I'm just going really slowly and I think Robin is trying to be like doesn't say anything

for quite a while then eventually he's like Ok let's go a bit faster now Laura.

Crossing through the rocks was actually pretty cool and pretty adventurous.

It's a great way to make your coastal walkway the adventure of a lifetime so New Plymouth

has a lot of wind so a local artist named Len Lye or Len lee or Len Lye created something

called the Wind Wand so the wand just moves around and bend over with the wind, One thing

that Laura did not grasp at first.

So Laura was really puzzled by this wind wand.

This wand is meant to move, oh it is.

Is It?

Aw, it's an optical illusion.

that's what it is.

If you stare at it, it looks like it's moving...

Can you see that?

Can you see that?

Or is it just me?

Am I that delirious?

If you look up at it, it looks like it's bending.

Yeah.

That's not just me.

That's a wind wand.

It doesn't actually move because of the wind like I thought it moves because your brain

is like the wind.

Do you see it moving.

Stop it Robin.

Just tell me I'm not going crazy.

That is moving.

I take back any comments I said before about not getting this.

I wonder if it shows on camera.

Or if it's yeah In case it doesn't show on camera, trust me it moves.

Trust me.

Trust me.

I'm not going crazy.

Stop.

If you go to New Plymouth and if you see the Wind Wand tell me if you you think it's moving

or not with #isitmoving Please solve this mystery once and for all because I do not

trust Robin with whatever he says.

The next section that we arrive in is quite and interesting it's an amazing limestone

cliff again because limestone cliffs are everywhere in New Zealand.

We continue to stroll down the Coastal Walkway and slowly the sun is setting and we see from

the signs just on the side of the Coastal Walkway that we still have about 3km left

to walk, so we try and get a bit of a clip on and then we get to the Te Rewarewa Bridge.

This Bridge is said to either be inspired by whale bones or a crashing wave.

That's my fact for the day.

It's a very artsy looking bridge.

It's really cool and it frames the landscape really well especially if you are looking

towards Taranaki area which we only see for two seconds before the wind blows the clouds

right in front of the mountain.

Otherwise to the coast we got an amazing sunset going down.

Just as it goes dark, we're like right, let's go back to the Ducks & Drakes Backpackers

and have ourselves a quiet night in.

Is it moving...

Robin is it moving?

Robin do you think it's moving.

Do you see it moving?

I really don't see what it is about this wind wand right here it's just a stick.

I don't get it.

Is it moving.

Oh no it's an optical illusion!

Maybe it's not moving.

Maybe it...

Oh my gosh I get it now, it's amazing.

is it moving robin no seriously don't lie to be robin do you think it's moving do you

Anyway, that was basically Laura for the whole time around this wand.

Grumpy's Field Guide To Dangerous Spiders | Southern Living - Duration: 3:57.

Spider creep me out. (playful, rhythmic music)

I mean I guess I've never liked spiders.

I was born with arachnephobia, okay?

In our part of the country there are only two spiders

that you really need to worry about.

And guess what?

They don't like livin' out here in the woods.

They like livin' in, close to home, with you.

The first one, I think most people are familiar with,

is called the Black Widow.

This is about a spider that's about,

oh about a half inch long, and it's very easy to identify,

because it has a shiny, bulbous abdomen, shiny and black,

and it also has, on the underside,

this bright red hourglass marking.

A black widow is not an aggressive spider.

It's not really a hunter.

What it does in and around your homes,

it seeks out

hidden, dark, dry, cool places

and it waits for it's prey to come to it.

Another classic place,

if you're one of those people

that still doesn't see the benefits of indoor plumbing,

and I think you should,

is the seat in the outhouse.

So just be forewarned there.

What happens if a black widow bites you?

The bite is going to feel like a needle goin' in.

Sometimes a black widow will bite you

and not put any venom in at all,

but let's say it has.

In most cases, over the next 24 hours you're gonna develop

these absolutely agonizing muscle aches and tremors,

probably for 24 hours,

but sometimes it can go on for as much as a week.

So my advice to you is, "Go to the doctor!"

And if you can, and you killed the spider,

take the spider with you when in a little jar.

The doctor's really gonna appreciate that.

He or she can give you a definite diagnosis of the problem.

But chances are you'll be okay in a couple of days.

The next spider we have to worry about,

it's called the Brown Recluse.

The reason it's called recluse is

because it's not an aggressive spider.

It doesn't wanna come in contact with you.

This spider is about three quarters inches long,

it's kind of easy to identify

because on the top of it's head it has a marking

that looks like a violin.

The spider itself is kind of a light brown color

with long, spindly legs.

How do you get bitten by a brown recluse?

This happened to me.

Instead of hanging up my jeans, I just took 'em off,

threw 'em on the floor, went to bed, everything's fine.

Next morning, get up, first thing I do,

put on my jeans, I go out.

And I got bitten

on the butt.

When a brown recluse bites you, you'll never know.

It's a totally painless bite.

The first time you will be aware that you've been bitten

is probably about the day after.

What it does is,

it's really gross,

it's venom dissolves tissue.

It basically takes your flesh

and turns it into this soupy goop that dies.

In most cases the bite will heal by itself,

but it takes a long time.

You're gonna have that bite on your body for up to a month.

But sometimes, if there's a lot of venom, it can get so big

that you can get an area this big on your body

in which the flesh turns black and dies.

And the only way to fix that

is through surgery to close the wound.

If you don't want to be bitten by one of these spiders

take a flashlight to the outhouse

and shake out your pants before you put 'em on.

Or else you could get bitten in the butt.

(growling)

Earseeker Guide and Family Fighter Strategies - Duration: 6:52.

Hi!

I'm Hazel, and this is your guide to the Earseeker pet battle on Argus.

We'll start with a fast strat for everyday world questing, then go through family specific

teams for doing the Family Fighter Achievement.

Earseeker lives here in the Antoran Wastes.

I don't know why he's seeking Ears but I'd love to find out.

First up, the fast strat.

This also doubles as the Dragonkin strat.

In your first slot choose a sacrificial dragon, doesn't matter what it is, could be level

one.

In the second slot bring a Nexus or a Stormborne Whelpling with Arcane Storm and Mana Surge.

You could use another of those in the third slot or a Chrominius with Surge of Power will

do fine also, and you might not even need the third.

Start with your sacrificial pet and feel a little guilty as it gets horribly destroyed.

Once that tragedy's over, bring in the whelp, arcane storm, then mana surge.

You get two free rounds to just lay into him after Antaen Cannon which is only fair after

what he did to our buddy.

If you have a less optimal breed of whelp you might need one more smack from the third

pet but either way we're good.

Next we'll do Aquatic.

In the first slot grab any pet with Surge, in the second slot a Moonshell Crab with Arcane

Slash, Shell Shield and Moon Tears and third is an Emerald Turtle with Emerald Bite and

Shell Shield.

Start the fight and use Surge because after that your first pet is literal toast.

Bring in Mr Moonshell, lay down a Moon Tears then Armor up with Shell Shield.

After that, Arcane Slash four times then reapply Moon Tears.

At that point the Cannon comes out and then it's turtle time.

Use Emerald Bite, then a Shell Shield for safety, then just mash your Emerald Bite to

win the battle.

That brings us to Critters.

I've got my Sneaky Marmot with Jab, Blinding Powder and Smoke Bomb and then two snails

with Ooze Touch and Shell Shield.

Starting with the Marmot, use Smoke Bomb.

After dodging the danger, switch in a snail.

Use a Shell Shield then go in spamming your Ooze Touch button until your snail dies.

Bring the marmot Back and Smoke Bomb to once again avoid the cannon.

Bring in your other snail and do exactly the same thing.

Shell Shield then mash ooze touch until you're all out of ooze.

That takes us almost all the way there.

Could probably just jab him but for fun I'll use blinding powder to make him miss his cannon

and THEN jab him to death.

Next we'll do Elemental.

I've got my Jadefire Spirit set up with Jade Claw and Fade, and then the tainted and fetid

wavelings both with Ooze Touch.

Starting with the Spirit use Fade, which scoots you out of the way and brings out a random

waveling.

They're both the same so it really doesn't matter which.

Apply your finger to the Ooze Touch button and wiggle it profically.

That's your only job.

That should get him well below half health.

Bring in the second waveling, continue ooze touching and Waveling 2 eats that cannon.

At that point the Jadefire Spirit can just mash Jade Claw and handily finish the fight.

If there's a lot of health left on Earseeker you can throw up an Emerald Presence but otherwise

just Claw away.

Next up we've got Humanoid.

I'm using my faithful old Anubisath Idol with Crush, Stoneskin and Deflection which is also

known as the Usual.

In slot 2 I've got the good ol' Kun-lai runt with his usual which is Takedown, Frost Shock

and Deep Freeze and third just any pet with Gift of Winter's Veil.

Starting with the Idol use Deflection, followed by Crush and then Stoneskin.

Then use Crush a total of Four times, reapply Stoneskin then use Deflection to avoid the

second Cannon.

After that go back to spamming Crush until your Idol dies, which takes usd pretty far

through Earseeker's health bar.

Bring in the Runt, go Frost Shock, then Deep Freeze, then mash Takedown for as long as

it lets you.

To wrap things up, just chuck a nice Gift of Winter's Veil at him.

That'll do it.

That brings us to Mechanical.

In slot 1, bring a pet with Explode.

I'm using a Blackfuse Bombling because of his generous health pool but a zeppelin will

do fine.

In Slot two I've got my Pocket Cannon with Arcane Shot and Explode.

I didn't need a third pet but if you're nervous a pet with magic damage like a Sunreaver Micro-sentry

or Rascal Bot will be good, or even something with Ion Cannon.

Starting with the Bombling, we'll press Explode.

Probably could have zapped him once first but eh.

Swing in the Pocket Cannon and press Arcane Shot four times for a total of two shots.

Then use Explode and that should more than do it.

Next up we've got Beast.

I'm using a Scalded Basilisk with Bite and Feign Death, a Thaumaturgical Piglet with

Ooze Touch and Arcane Dash, and then a Voidstalker or similar void lizard with Blinkstrike.

You could probably swing this with a pair of Zandalari raptors behind the basilisk but

I like my purple piggy.

Start with the Basilisk and use Feign Death to dodge the scary cannon.

That should pull in your Piglet.

Use ooze touch, then Arcane Dash, then spam Ooze Touch for the remainder of your Piglet's

lifespan.

Next bring in the Lizard and you should be able to Blinkstrike twice before losing him

to the Cannon.

The Basilisk comes back inand two or three Bites should finish the job.

Next up is Flying.

I've got my Sentinel's Companion with Dark Talon, Soulrush and Ethereal, an Ikky with

Black Claw and Flock and a Royal Peachick with Arcane Storm and Feign Death.

The Peachick could be swapped for another feign death birdy such as Chi Chi or the Pterrordax

Hatchling.

Start with the Sentinel's Companion and use Ethereal to dodge the cannon.

Then use Dark Talon twice, then Soulrush, then back to Dark Talon-ing.

The reason we wait on Soulrush is just in case we do stun him, there's no sense in stunning

him while he's still recovering.

After the owl dies bring in the Feign death bird.

I've got one round until Cannon so I'll use Arcane Storm and then Feign Death.

A cooldown Tracker like the PetTracker that you see here is really nice to make sure you

don't miscount the cannon cooldown.

Feign Death brought out Ikky, so a quick Black Claw and Flock will wrap things up nicely.

Next we'll do Magic.

This is an easy family for this guy and there's a lot of ways to do it.

For simplicity's sake, I'm using Triple Mana Wyrms with Feedback and Deflection.

I'm only really gonna need two of them.

Start with Deflection, then spam Feedback.

It's quite straightforward.

Always use deflection to avoid cannon and otherwise just glue your finger to the Feedback

button.

Works good.

Last we'll do Undead.

I've got my little Ghastly Kid set up with Ethereal, and then any two Fragment emoji

pets with Spiritfire Bolt and Soulrush.

I was gonna mess around with trying to Reflective Shield an Antaen Cannon but it's just unnecessary.

Start with the Ghastly kid and use Ethereal.

Then switch to either fragment.

Use Soulrush, then Spiritfire Bolt until Soulrush is back up and use it one more time.

After Fragment 1 dies bring back the goat, Ethereal to avoid the second cannon and then

swap to your other fragment.

Soulrush then back to mashing Spiritfire and he should be handily vanquished.

D&D's Rogue Inquisitive In Xanathar's Guide To Everything - Duration: 6:29.

- The Rogue Inquisitive is essentially

the Sherlock Holmes of the D&D multiverse.

So I talked to Jeremy Crawford about it's inclusion

in Xanathar's Guide to Everything,

how it was received and what role it will fill

in anyone's D&D party.

- So the Inquisitive subclass in Xanathar's Guide

is in many ways all about playing

essentially Sherlock Holmes,

this character who is fantastic

at finding clues, discerning when other people

are being deceitful and then using that fact against them,

because the Inquisitive's abilities

having to do with Sneak Attack are much more psychological

than our other Rogue types.

You now, previously we've released, like,

the Swashbuckler in Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide,

which is very much about daring do

and fancy footwork and all of that

whereas the Inquisitive is,

this is the person who is going to beat you

because they've outwitted you.

And often in D&D, the intellectual character,

the character who is triumphant for their group

because of the powers of the mind,

we usually associate that with spell casters.

So Inquisitive is a chance for us

to have that kind of intellectual character

but with a non-spell casting class.

You know, again, this person who's going to spot

the thing no one else spotted except for maybe the wizard

who's having to use magic to do it,

the Inquisitive is the one who just through

the sheer power of their mind is going to figure this out.

And again, it's a great subclass for a person

who wants to play a character that's a bit like a detective,

maybe also somebody who's a bounty hunter.

It would also be useful if you're in a setting

where there might be an order of Inquisitors

and you could use the Inquisitive

as a non-magical member of some kind of inquisition.

So it has a lot of world building potential

and it's a nice change from the Thief and the Assassin

in the Player's Handbook, which tend to,

as is appropriate for the Rogue,

lean into the class' classic association

with criminality of some kind.

Cause the Inquisitive, you can imagine

making a Rogue who's an Inquisitive

who could also be a member of a City Watch,

who's actually on the side of the law,

hunting down members of Thieves's Guilds

and that kind of thing.

Or the Inquisitive could be a kind of spymaster.

Maybe a member of a queen's secret order

that is either an order of spies

or hunting down spies from an enemy kingdom.

So there's a lot of story potential with this subclass

and I think that's why people responded positively to it.

Cause people, again, they like a subclass

to carve out a place in the D&D multiverse

that one of our Player's Handbook subclasses

isn't already carving out for them.

And the Inquisitive definitely does that.

- [Todd] What sets it apart from, say,

the Mastermind subclass and also,

how do you tell that story with its abilities?

- So the Mastermind that originally appeared

in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

is another Rogue subclass

that is much more about psychological power

than it is about, again, fancy footwork

or getting the drop on somebody.

I'd say, if we were going to associate these characters

with classic ability scores,

the Mastermind is all about charisma,

whereas the Inquisitive

is all about intelligence and wisdom.

And I mention wisdom here because in D&D,

wisdom is also associated not just with common sense

or strength of will, but noticing things.

And so the Mastermind is all about persuasiveness

and in many ways unearthly persuasiveness,

where you're convincing people to do things

where typically it would be the domain

of a spell caster to be so beguiling.

But the Mastermind is so charismatic

that they're able to accomplish things,

that again, would normally be the domain of magic.

And so I think of the Inquisitive and the Mastermind

as sort of being siblings as subclasses.

They're each about cunning, but again,

one would be Sherlock Holmes

whereas the other one, the Mastermind, would be this person

who is like a master manipulator.

Is just extremely effective at getting others to do

what they want.

And I could see a party where the two of them

could work together as a part of,

again, one of these spy organizations,

hunting down other Rogues.

Again, a lot of story potential there

for each of them individually as subclasses,

but even more if you imagine them working together.

And you could even imagine a story

where you could have an NPC of one of those subclasses

being the rival of a character who has the other subclass.

You know, a Mastermind and an Inquisitive...

- [Todd] Very much Sherlock Holmes versus Moriarty.

- Exactly!

Yeah, Holmes versus Moriarty, hating each other,

one, again, the expert at figuring out

what's going on and the other one,

the expert at manipulating people,

to make things happen.

So the Inquisitive, similar to the Horizon Walker

and the Ranger, was one where people were overall

quite satisfied with how it was designed.

So the version they'll see in the book

really has, it has some kind of

definitely development tweaks

to make things work a bit better,

to make the play experience more satisfying,

but overall, people really liked how the different abilities

worked together to make the Inquisitive

basically the detective character that one

who's going to figure out what's going on

to the adventuring party's advantage.

New Horizon Walker In Xanathar's Guide To Everything For D&D - Duration: 8:17.

- The ranger horizon walker might just be the subclass

I'm the most excited for in Xanathar's Guide to Everything.

Instead of nature, they draw their magic

from the D&D multiverse itself,

and they can sense when portals are nearby.

I talked to Jeremy Crawford about the utility

of this new subclass, and what they can bring

to any D&D party.

So the horizon walker is a ranger subclass

that is all about drawing on the magic of the multiverse.

So many other rangers are very much tied to beasts

or hunting particular prey in the natural environment.

The horizon walker in a way, the camera pans back

and it's about the whole multiverse.

This is a ranger who's in a way, their,

their natural environment is the whole cosmos

and they're drawing on its magic and

in the process, they're able to teleport around,

they're able to draw on that planar magic

to deal more damage with their attacks.

It is a type of ranger that actually appeared

in 3rd Edition for instance, so there,

it also has some history in the game,

and it also leans on a side of the ranger

that our Player's Handbook subclasses for the ranger

don't lean on, and that is the magical side.

The ranger has always had magic in D&D

except for 4th Edition.

That was the edition where the ranger lost its magic,

but in, otherwise, the ranger has always had

this bit of nature magic, so the Horizon Walker

basically has that magic sort of turned up a little bit,

and it's specifically this planar magic,

having to do with teleportation

and entering into the ethereal plane,

which not only will have combat applications

but also exploration applications, you know, being able to

step into the ethereal plane can often mean

you can get places other people can't get.

So this is a ranger who is going to be

sort of a magical scout for a particular group.

This is also a ranger who has an ability to detect

portals to other dimensions nearby.

This was actually an ability in the Unearthed Arcana version

of the Horizon Walker that was more powerful

than the version in Xanathar's Guide

because originally, the Horizon Walker when we released it

in Unearthed Arcana, could detect every single portal

within a particular distance

and our playtesters rightly pointed out that

having that ability could basically

wreck certain adventures if suddenly you know

where every single planar portal is

within like a mile, and, so we narrowed that down

where you locate the nearest portal within a mile

and then you can't use this ability again until you rest.

So it's now a nice flavorful ability

that in certain adventures is going to be very helpful,

but it's not gonna crash an entire adventure.

Imagine if we had left it in the game,

going into Sigil, the City of Doors, in Planescape,

and suddenly knowing where every portal is

to go into another world.

I imagine almost, you know, steam coming out

of the ranger's ears because there's too much information

at once, and now that it's just one portal,

it can be very useful because if let's say

the group has decided, they've learned,

"All right. That strange house down at the end

"of that block in this city, we've heard

"that infernal creatures have been emerging from it,"

and the ranger can, "All right, I'm gonna use my ability

"and see is there a portal in there somewhere?"

and this is the ranger who can do that,

which I think is gonna be really flavorful in useful

in certain campaigns.

The Horizon Walker also, given its magical quality,

starts off knowing more spells,

just a smidge more than the ranger subclasses

in the Player's Handbook.

This is actually a common theme

among the ranger subclasses in Xanathar's Guide.

All the ranger subclasses have a feature

that gives them a few more spells that they know

tailored to their subclass beyond the number of spells

that they already know as a ranger.

Now, the horizon walker, also for people who

are familiar with it from the Unearthed Arcana series,

know that it also had a capstone ability,

its highest level ability, that's what we call it,

we call it its capstone, had one that would halve damage,

and so this is a chance for me to sort of

pull back the curtain and talk a little bit about

the balancing process.

A person who closely compares the Unearthed Arcana version

of the subclass to the version in Xanathar's Guide

will notice a slight change in wording

which is actually important for how the game functions.

In Unearthed Arcana, it said the damage is halved.

In the final version of the feature, its says

the ranger has resistance to that damage.

Now to many people listening to me, like,

"Oh, why does that matter? 'Cause resistance halves damage.

"Isn't that the same thing?"

It's not the same thing because resistance doesn't stack

'cause when I was working with Ben Petrisor

doing, a number of our staff, doing a balance pass

on everything in this book, we looked at that

and we were like, "Oops. It never should have said

"just naked halving."

Occasionally we do that purposefully,

but in this case it was accidental.

Because that would mean if the ranger also had resistance

to that damage, that halving would stack with it,

which was not our intent.

It was intent for it to just be a,

like all other resistance,

either you're halving it or you're not, and

so that's a good example of, as we refine something,

as we take it from its initial draft form,

we get playtest feedback, we develop it

into its final form, that's the kind of subtle change

that we make that can sometimes end up having,

in corner cases, a large impact at the game table.

So feedback in general for the horizon walker was positive.

I think people liked, again, this cosmic feel,

the teleportation, the ranger getting to do force damage

by channeling this planar magic.

People just liked the feel of it, the narrative of it,

'cause we find most often what people respond to first

when they really like a subclass,

is they're responding positively to its story

and to its aesthetic, and then,

they want to see game mechanics that back up that story,

and I think they felt that the horizon walker's story

was well-supported by its game mechanics,

so it's actually an example of a subclass

that did not get heavily revised

from the Unearthed Arcana process,

from there to the final version, but again,

there are subtle changes all over,

even in the list of extra spells the horizon walker knows,

we changed a few of those spells

because our playtesters rightly pointed out

that the spells had very little combat utility,

that we had actually gone so far in the direction of

sort of exploration and this cosmic feel

that we hadn't given the ranger many new options

that would see use in combat, so we swapped out

a couple of the spells to do that.

Also, people rightly pointed out

that for a subclass that's all about

stepping between planar barriers and teleporting,

all the teleportation built in to the subclass

was most combat-based, so we then,

this is a case where instead of putting a combat thing

in the spell list, we put a non-combat thing,

we made sure that the ranger had Misty Step there

as one that they would know for free,

and so that means it's not a spell

that a ranger would have to learn by some other means.

Making the Most of University Open Days: The Good Enough Mum's Guide - Duration: 11:45.

Hello this is Josephine. I'm here with the second part of my series of

videos on helping your child to apply for university and this particular video

is all about going along to the open days and it's just to help you with some

practical advice and suggestions as to what to expect. So once your offspring

has decided that they want to visit a university they need to apply for the

open days and as I said in my last video, particularly if they're after a Russell

Group University they need to get into the website and book that as soon as

possible, because they do get booked up and then they refuse to let any more

people come onto the open day. It's also a great opportunity to research several

different courses. So don't feel that you need to know exactly what you're going

to do - what they're going to do - before you go you can have a look; and you can

talk to different people and you can find out which is the best option. Now

once they've actually applied for the open day at some point they're going to

receive a communication from the University sending them a program as to

what to expect. Now if you've got clueless teenagers - which is what mine

were - they will ignore said communication, they won't even realize that they've got

it so you'll need to initiate a search of their inbox to have a look at their

emails to see what's happened, and then you can plan your trip. The first thing I

suggest you do is actually think about your parking if you're going to go by

car and to allow time as well. So have a look and see what they say

about parking. Quite a lot of the universities do have space for you on a

field somewhere to park your car and there'll be enough space for you to park,

but some of the others - particularly the ones that don't have a large campus or

are based on a town campus where there's lots of different buildings - parking can

be a bit more tricky and you need to allow time for that. So for example we

went to see Leicester University and on another

occasion my husband took one of ours to see De Montfort University and in those

particular cases you have to park at the football club and you have to allow time

to actually get to the University. They lay buses on from the Football

Club to the University -they run every ten to fifteen minutes - but if you

haven't got much time that can actually make the difference between getting to a

faculty tour or not and that is what happened to us! So please give yourself

enough time. You can also obviously go by bus or by train and quite often the

University will lay on buses from the local railway station to give you a

transfer. Or they'll put students outside the station and direct you so that you

can walk to the Uni depending on how far away it is. So the other thing to have a

look at in the program is to actually think about which tours you want to go on,

which talks you want to go to, because they lay them on at various points

during the day and it's worth remembering that you probably won't be

able to fit everything in. So really have a think about what the most important

priorities are to you and don't plan to do everything. Don't plan to do all the

accommodation tours for example maybe just choose one particular

accommodation block that you can look at just to get an idea as to what

it's like. Remember that after they've been offered a place at University - they

can apply for five and they might get five offers - that they then get invited

to another open day. This is a candidates day which is where the university is

really trying to sell the course to them and quite often they'll do things like

accommodation tours as part of that, so if there's anything you miss if you

really like the university - if the son or daughter like the university and want to

apply there - they will probably get invited again. And that's also worth

remembering if you don't get a chance to go to the open days but they really like

the look of it from the prospectus and want to apply - they will get a chance to

go and see it before they actually make up their mind as to which course they're

going to make their firm choice. So don't get too worried if you do miss out on

the open days. So once you've arrived what are

the important things to do? If you don't know the area at all and you want to

find out a bit more about it, I mean they often will do tours of the town. For

example I can remember going down to Portsmouth and we got on a bus and a

student - the bus drove around the town - and the student filled us in on various

sites to see but but mainly pointed out all the co-ops which was quite funny. My

student son quite enjoyed that but they also gave us a bit of a potted

understanding of what there was in the town that was of interest to students

and that was really quite helpful. But a lot of the time you don't get the chance

to do that because it's just trying to fit everything in. At the beginning

of the day usually someone who's quite senior in the university like the

vice-chancellor will give a talk where they welcome you to the University.

It is a marketing spiel and you don't have to go if you don't want to, if you

haven't got time, or you get there late, but it can be quite useful to find out a

bit about what's available in the area - but they will you know really try and

sell the university to you it is marketing spiel. I would say the most

important thing to do is to go along to the subject specialist lectures, subject

specialist tours, and really have a chance to talk to the admissions tutor

and the lecturers who are running those events because that's the point at which

you really really find out about the course and it becomes quickly obvious

whether or not this this course is of interest to you or your child. And it is

worth - they usually as well as having the faculty tours and talks which

you need to sort of make sure that you're booked into - they usually as well

have a vast auditorium where you can go and speak to different subject

specialists. So if your child isn't quite sure which course they want to do it is

worth just going and having a chat and finding out initially what the different

courses are like. So with my third this is what we did. She

initially thought she wanted to do English and maybe creative writing and

once we've been to visit the the Film Production section of the University at

the stands that were there, she very quickly realized that that was actually

really what she wanted to do. And that brings me to the next point which is

that you will know, and they will know, which is the course they really like and

you'll know because you'll look at their face and you'll see that enthusiasm

spilling out of them and the excitement. I had a Facebook memory coming up

recently when my oldest was choosing computer science and she did have the

pick of universities she could have gone to the top universities that offer

computer science but when she went to Kent University she felt so welcome

there, she really felt in many ways that she'd found a home, that she'd met people

who were her sort of people and she felt very welcome there and so that was the

University she subsequently chose. It does become very obvious when they find

the course that they like so try not to worry about it. There are a vast array of

courses to choose from but they usually have a pretty good idea as to one or two

that they really like and so you know just look at their face and you'll be

able to find out which is the right one for them. And again I'd encourage you, you

know don't don't worry too much if it seems like an absolutely mad choice, go with

it, they may change their minds but all is not over. I had my middle one went off

and did a first year in Film Studies and the reason they were interested in film

production was because they're really really interested in technology and

after a little while on the course they realized that it was a creative course -

although they thought of themselves are creative in actual fact they're

really technological and they'd spent most of the year actually building a

piece of technology - and he at that point realized that he needed to change course

and that's absolutely fine. And in actual fact the student loans company give you

an extra year and they know that for many students they're going to arrive

and it's not going to be the right thing for them and sometimes it's only by

trying something that you learn that. With our son we had to let him go ahead

and do that, we had no idea at the start, we suspected it wasn't the right thing

for him but we couldn't say for sure because he was so adamant that it was

right for him, so he needed to find that out for himself and okay it means now

that his friends have finished University just as he's starting his

second year but that's not a problem it really isn't a problem he's on the right

course and he's really happy now he's doing engineering. So you know it isn't

the end of the world if they choose the wrong thing to do and often that's how

you know, isn't it, by by trying something out and then you find out from there

that perhaps it's not the right thing for you. And it is possible to change

courses while you're at the University or you can you can leave and

then come back at another time so don't despair even if they continue to be

clueless after the application is over. So I'm just going to look at my notes here

to check that I've included everything. yeah just to think about, don't be too

ambitious. There will be too much to do so really select your courses.

Don't worry about food all the outlets will be open you'll be able to buy some

lunch you know either over a lovely

three-course meal if that's what you want or a quick sandwich. A lot of the

universities they start, the stuff starts earlier in the day, so if it's a full day

plan to get there early because they will be winding up about

three o'clock. At the universities where they have a morning session and an afternoon

session, usually the afternoon session is are bit quieter so if you want a good

chat with someone quite often the afternoon sessions are the ones to go

for. So I hope that's helped just don't forget that if you don't get along to

the open days there will be another chance for the your child to visit the

University for one of the candidate days. So don't worry about it too much but

they're tremendous fun actually and it's a chance to spend the day with your son

or daughter and it's a really exciting time - so don't worry

about it just enter into it, and enjoy it and once they've actually decided on

their course the next thing is trying to actually get an offer for it.

Virtru Pro Guide: Revoking Email Access with Virtru in Outlook - Duration: 1:39.

At one time or another, you have probably

sent an email you have wished you could revoke.

If the email was sent secure with Virtru,

then you can do exactly that!

And the beauty of it is, as soon as you revoke access

to that email, it instantly becomes unavailable

for everyone except you!

To revoke an email in your Outlook application,

begin by opening the Virtru-secured message

in your sent mail box.

Please note that if the email was not secured with Virtru,

then none of Virtru's features,

including revoke, will not be available.

Click the red hand icon located at the top right

of your toolbar. A red outline will now surround

the body of the email, indicating that you have revoked

access to all recipients.

If we flip over to the recipient's account,

we can see that the email still displays in the inbox,

but the content of the email has been revoked.

And it is just as easy to reauthorize access.

Simply click the blue eye icon

which replaced the revoke button.

In addition, if you visit your Virtru dashboard,

you even have the option to selectively revoke access

to individual recipients of your email.

Simply select the email, and click the revoke button

next to the recipient's email address

in the forwarding tree.

And even more amazing is that Virtru allows you

to revoke and reauthorize emails any time you wish.

You can send a secure email with Virtru, go to lunch

(or even go on vacation), come back and revoke access.
