Hi this is Emily from the ShotKam team, and in this video we will show you how to use

the ShotKamPro app, which is available for both Android and iOS.

Let's get started.

The ShotKam Pro app allows you to align the reticle, change your settings, and view your

shots while at the range all from your mobile device.

It can be used on any smartphone, iPad, or tablet.

To download the app visit the Google play for Android or the App Store for iOS, and

make sure to search for ShotKamPro, all one word.

Once the app has been installed we're ready to get started.

Begin by ensuring that your gun is empty.

With the ShotKam off, turn on the built in WiFi by holding down the power button for

three seconds then releasing it.

You will see both LED lights come on Yellow, then one will turn Green.

Remember, you can connect to the camera's WiFi from anywhere; you don't need any other

source of WiFi, internet, or data, just the ShotKam.

Now place your gun on a table and stabilize it using either a towel or range bag.

Align your gun sights to a target that is approximately the same distance away as your

typical shooting distance.

For example, if you typically shoot at a target that is 20 feet away, then align the reticle

to a target that is at that same distance.

Next, open the Settings icon on your device, tap on WiFi, then select the "ShotKam" network.

It may say "Connected, no internet", and that's normal.

Once your mobile device has been connected to the WiFi, open the ShotKamPro app.

Now you're ready to align your reticle and change your settings.

To align the reticle, which is either a red dot or a cross hair, tap on the cross hair

icon.

Hold down the green arrows until the reticle is centered on the target.

Then press "Save".

After a few seconds, the video will adjust so that the reticle is now centered in the

video frame.

To change the settings, tap on the gear icon.

From here you can select the appropriate gun type, target type, etc.

We suggest that you leave all other settings as normal.

To view a shot, begin by recording a short video.

Tap on the red record icon to start a recording, then again to stop the recording.

Next, press the Play icon.

Select the dated folder, then download the desired shot.

Once the video has been downloaded, press play to view it.

Note that you can either download to "watch now" or "watch now and save to device".

By selecting the "save to device" option, that shot will be downloaded into your device's

Photos app or Gallery.

Once there, you can review it without being connected to the ShotKam's WiFi

and easily share it to social media.

With just a few taps, you can use your mobile device to make all the changes you need so

you're ready to go shooting.

The 80s drum sound part 2

welcome to this video, we are talking about 80s

drums with multi-tracking and in the context of new modern

recordings, so how to get that 80s sound?

from time to time humans get bored and

they get fed up with modern technologies and sounds and old school is trendy

again... the eighties are trendy again so we are trying to sound like the 80s but

we are using modern sounds and modern technologies. OK let's go

I have this multitrack session here, first let's see what we have... so we have two tracks for

the Kick, one inside, the other outside... we have one snare on the top and one track

for the bottom, also for the snare of course... then we have room stereo

recording so this track is stereo, all others are mono... we have the hats

microphone on the hats... we have one on the toms and one

floor tom... then we have two mono microphones but recording in stereo

above the head of the drummer and one even above those microphones and

centered, so these three microphones should give us a feel of the drummer ... more or

less that... okay, so we have all these tracks and we have to combine them to

sound like a big huge drum kit from the 80s... let's start from the beginning

so we have here the mixer and we are going for channel one... let's hear a bit

of the original...

so only with these four tracks we can start

to build something... okay let's go back to channel one... you can hear that there is

some sound from the other parts of the drum, that we are going to try to avoid

but first, remember, this is a 80s project so in the eighties nobody used computers

to record music... we are going to use plugin... this one to simulate tape recording

so I'm using it, as you can see, on all tracks... every track uses this one... I think

I forgot here so let's put it

right... so then, these are

buses, so I'll talk about that later... with this channel one I then added a small EQ

adjustment... to improve low end and to remove... here, this... resonance...

then...

you hear how these changes? before...

so this is an expander okay? so this is like

a noise gate but an expander so it's more progressive...a noise gate is something that

is abrupt... this is more progressive, as I said, and it is removing or lowering the

level of the parts I do not want... I want to keep the higher level ones and I want

to lower the lower level ones

so I want more kick or just kick and avoid everything else...to finish...

I have this compressor ...here, let's move

without... ok, more punchy...

ok channel 2... the same... here, I have another EQ adjustment

this area here... I´m going to show you with this one... has this kind of resonance that

I'm trying to avoid... I'm going to remove channel 1 to let you hear the gate... the

expander on channel 2... I'm going back

without

so you see... this effect makes a huge difference

it kills the long kick... makes it a short kick...

okay again, a compressor to make it

a little more punchy and we are moving to the snare... remember, this one is in the

top of the snare

with this EQ I'm just getting a little bit of the hit hat and

cymbals and then... again... compressor... as you can see, just a little bit of compression

with the attack time with five milliseconds so the initial bit of the

hits goes through and only then, it compresses... let's move for the next

channel... bottom snare

here, we have again a high-cut... you see how different it becomes...

again... gate

so we make this tighter, sharper, shorter... and we compress it... a little bit as you can

see and remember... as I showed in the previous video send to the reverb the

reverb is here... let's hear it... I did a EQ adjustment in the reverb

you hear the difference and gate it

as you can see... or hear... I have set it to be rhythmically adjusted with the time

of the kick... that compressor I've used here

helps adjusting the level of the snare, so the hits are more or less

constant and they are not very problematic... so we move on... to this track

room... so, again the tape plug-in...

then... low cut... we don't want again the low

frequencies from this one... this is a room mic so the low frequencies are a bit out

of phase so we have to be careful with that... there are room reflections here and

then, one of my favorite compressors for this type of thing... the SSL compressor

let's move on and go back... this is with compressor... without...

without the equalizer... so from this channel I want a bit of ambient but also a bit of

grit in the drums... so no low frequencies to mess with the original from the kick

then, we have hats... the microphone from the hats... you hear the ambient from the

previous channel, goes away... here, again... I removed the low ends because I do not

want the... as you can hear, the other parts of the drum... the low end from their parts

here... so it becomes like this... makes it more sharper then we have the toms

to see the toms we have better go to this section here and loop it

I'm starting on this one first... it's the one who has more hits... so... removing the

low ends

yes it makes it thinner... but we also have the lower frequencies from

other channels and a compressor...

you see... it becomes more sharp in the attack so

it cuts in the mix much better... so the other one... again... tape... equalizer ...removing

the low mids and some of the lower end... not removing but lowering and again a

compressor...

so I want to attack from the Toms really present

as you can hear... I'm removing the equalizer...

It might be like this

without... at least... without a bit of the

low end... okay... then these two overheads... and this... have a different color for a reason

remember, these three microphones were right above the drummer so I send them

to bus three... bus three is right here... same color and I used this compressor

and I forgot to use the tape plug-in... as you can see, little compression just a little

bit to help glueing these three sounds and make it just like it was captured by

one microphone

okay so... BUS three. like everything else here goes to bus one and here another one of

one of my favorite compressors... V-Comp by waves

it's a Neve emulation... let's hear the effect...

I did want it very soft

let's push it to hear the difference

so it depends on the tastes... as always... and then... to keep... everything controlled

I use this limiter... as you can see, level will never go beyond minus five point two

and I could get rid of dithering... for now it's not necessary... and as you can

see, the level is pretty much more or less the same... let's get rid of this

it almost makes no difference... this and kick...

kick is here... I have to do it like this

I've heard worse drums than this

so the reverb (short) that I didn't mention... I used it here and in the Toms

I forgot I was only looping this bit... okay let's go... then, I added another tape

in the output because in the 80s, you record it to a second tape recorder

okay, now... extra stuff... I did some... I don't know... 10, 15 minutes to do something

really fast here... I'm going to show you now... let's get rid of all solos and put

it... right on where it is... so, we have this guitar... let's make it a rock guitar

and we have this bass

that I'm using... with this amplifier

this goes to bus 2... where I have this... compressor

the guitar goes to this channel here

I have this crazy bass here... with this EQ and guitar rig to make it a mix

between a bass and the guitar... okay then it changes to this... a quick patch from the

presets of absynth... as I told you, I didn't want to waste much time on this

this was about the drums... but it's also nice to hear drums with something else

okay, now, analog synth... it should be... I don't know, 80s synth-pop

then changes to more cinematographic

with the previous sound with this one

so, as you can hear, the drums play along all these different styles... it's always

the same drum kit remember... and we go to rock

this bit here is best... I think

I forgot about this effects

so I finish going a little back because this Arp synth with these effects... or without...

sounds a bit different... and compression... a bit stronger, to tame it...

So, going back to the drums...

quick and sharp kick and snare... noise... humm... gated reverb on the snare and all the

other sounds were more or less controlled to sound around these four main ones

so this is a style that is become trendy again... so, use it! I hope this has been

How to get ready for a photoshoot?

In today's video I'll talk about body care, clothing, what or who to bring with

you and how you can help photographer to get the best results.

Hi my name is Zdenka and I am a former model

currently a professional photographer.

You know you are doing the shoot you've been always planning on doing for a while

so you want to look the best to get the best.

Do a quick check head to toe.

How is your hair, do you need to shave anywhere?

How are you nails?

Lot of people forget about the nails part.

Unfortunately, old pealing off nail polish or even chipped nails are very difficult to

retouch.

If you are doing your own makeup and hair, this doesn't apply to you.. if you are getting

professional makeup and hair done at the shoot, please wash your hair 24 - 48 hours prior

to shoot, blow dry and style as usually.

It is difficult to work with freshly washed hair or even still wet hair.

Wear no makeup but moisturize your face really well before you go.

If you are bringing your own wardrobe, please make sure it is washed, steamed or ironed.

What is the worst is amazing model, great makeup and hair, awesome scene and your outfit

is full of cats' hair or wrinkled all over.

That is hard to retouch too.

Spend the extra time preparing your outfit.

If you don't have a suit cover or bag simply hang it on hanger, grab a large garbage bag

and throw it over the clothing.

I do have a steamer in the studio in the worst case scenario and other photographers might

as well but it takes time to do it.

Make sure you bring matching shoes and accessories in case you want them in the shots.

For shoes, please wash the bottom or if you know they are leaving marks, tape them.

Nothing is worse then shooting on white background, leaving muddy marks so the photographer has

to cut off the paper and then goes.

And if you are not sure what outfits to bring, bring more, we'll simply go through it together.

First of all try to get a good night sleep.

I know that sometimes it is impossible.

You get excited or really nervous.

I am the same way.

There are nights I just keep staring to the ceiling.

Speaking of time, try to come on time.

When I say try…

I mean please come on time.

When the photographer books a time slot for you, especially if makeup artist is required,

the time booked is to insure you are relaxed, you get enough time and attention to get the

results.

Make up artists usually book few jobs during a day which is common these days so if they

say they have to leave, they will leave.

I don't mind at all if you bring friend, boyfriend, girlfriend or family member to

a shoot.

The only thing I ask, please don't bring the whole family though!

The more people, the more pressure for you.

You want to be relaxed as possible and concentrate.

The guest can watch me what I am doing so I have the guest sitting around the corner.

I want full attention from model, so I need her or him to listen what I saying.

The more focus I get from model the better results will be.

This advice is not for models hired to do jobs as usually photographer or client will

have vision what to shoot.

This is mainly for models which hired a photographer to do a shoot.

Everyone has different vision, some people express it greatly, others not.

When someone wants to send me or show me samples of what they want I look at the overall feel,

I look at the overall result of what type of photos they like.

Please don't expect to show up with Pinterest or Instagram photos and say I exactly want

to copy these.

Every photographer has different style, different lighting technique, you might not look good

in particular pose, but you might look better in a very similar one.

Pinterest and Instagram is full of best photos chosen from hundreds if not thousands of photos.

Use it as a general guide.

If you leave creativity up to photographer, you might be pleasantly surprised that he

or she can come with even better photos.

All you need to do is to give photographer the overall result feel.

If you give me free hands, I can do magic.

If you tie me up, I'll get you ok results, Pinterest copies, but you will not get the

uniqueness I am known for.

Before the shoot EAT!

I am serious!

Models fear in the morning that they will have bloated belly.

I was one of them.

To be honest, it is all in your head.

When the model tells me she has bloated belly, I am usually like where?

What is worse to come hungry, throughout the shoot get even hungrier, irritated, your face

will get white as a ghost and you will get tired eyes.

So come fed well to a shoot.

Fitness models always bring their food in containers and I think they eat about every

2 hours and I gladly warm it up for them.

Most of the studios provide coffee, water, tea, juice and other stuff.. however, if you

know you get hungry often, bring snacks, or food.

I know how I get when I get hungry…

The Disneyland slogans "Where Dreams Come True" and "The Most Magical Place on Earth"

couldn't have rung truer for this family.

Thinking they were just going to have a routine meet-and-greet with Mickey Mouse, 12-year-old

Janielle and 10-year-old Elijah had no idea that their lives were about to change forever.

As if a trip to Disney's Magic Kingdom and the Star Wars Convention weren't enough,

Tom and Courtney Gilmour, foster parents to Janielle and Elijah, had something up their

sleeves even more special and surprising for these kids.

The Gilmours had been wanting to adopt the children for a while, and now the final adoption

papers had been approved.

They were given an official adoption date of May 24th.

The couple decided to use the trip to Disney to officially reveal the big news to the kids,

and their plan worked like clockwork!

The family lined up for the meet-and-greet time with Mickey, but unbeknownst to the children,

Courtney had already asked Mickey to hold up a sign that revealed the kids were going

to be adopted.

When the time for photos came, one of the cast members showed the children the sign.

The emotional, beautiful moment that unfolded when reality hit Janielle and Elijah was captured

in a tear-jerking video that has since gone viral.

Courtney joyfully recalled the moment: "This went better than we had hoped," she said.

"They were beyond shocked and we were beyond emotional…PURE DISNEY MAGIC!"

Janielle and Elijah have since been officially adopted by the Gilmours.

They have become FAMILY, one of the most beautiful words in the human vocabulary.

This is truly a happily ever after story that started in one magical place where dreams

really do come true.

How To Get Inspired To Write - Duration: 15:02.

I've got James Garrett with me today at Live On Purpose TV to help us know how

to find inspiration for writing.

Where does the inspiration come from?

Well maybe that's not what we're going to answer today but how do we get that inspiration?

I brought in an expert. This is James Garrett, he and I did an episode recently

t Live On Purpose Radio and James, you said a few things to me in that interview

that I thought it would be totally relevant to this particular topic. Can you see

that? - Yeah. - You're an expert in, shall I say positive psychology and how to

operate the equipment of your own brain,

is that fair? - That's my passion. Yeah, that's what I love is, how did you get

this thing to work better. - So you shared with me on the radio that there

are basically two modes of brain functioning, that simplifies it a lot and

I know that but I think it's a useful model. Could you share that with with our

listeners today? - Sure, yeah. So they're basically two primary modes of

attention that your brain goes between, right. One is like a stand task

mode, sometimes psychologists call it executive mode this is any time you have

to put mental effort into something so if you're concentrating, you're focusing

and writing that email, even in this conversation we're having an

executive mode. - Right, we're carrying out a task, it's very focused and

intentional. - Yeah, it requires you to direct your attention to something,

you're paying attention, right? The other primary mode of your attention that

your brain goes into is something called creative mode or mind-wandering mode.

- Interesting. Mind wandering, that almost has a negative connotation to it.

- Yeah, well we've stigmatized. - At least traditionally, right?

- That's right. - Okay but you're you're labeling at first creative mode

and then you've added this mind wandering part so take us through

that little bit. What is that? - So if you were to look this up, look

in the science, you would find it as mind wandering, that's what

psychologists call it. The word I like to use is creative mode, some people call it

imagination mode. Scott Barry Kaufman, a psychologist at UPenn, calls it

imagination mode but basically this is what your mind does when you don't

require it to do anything at all. - Oh, gotcha. - So if you're going for a drive,

it's not traffic, it's not stressful on a country road. - Kind of on

autopilot. - Yeah you just, you're making small adjustments to the wheel

whatever. What is your mind doing? It thinks about what you want for breakfast.

- It's wandering. - Right? And then that reminds you of a

conversation you have with your spouse and then that reminds you, oh yeah, I need

to pick up this thing at the store, it's literally just wandering around. - It's

going from one thing to the next. - Yes, so we have this kind of weird model with the brand,

like an intuitive model that we're not working, that our brain turns off like a

light switch and the correct metaphor is actually to switch the light

switch sideways and to flip it side to side so if you're in an

executive mode, the good news is your brain actually never turns

off, it always is working. - It's always on. - So it will be in this executive mode

which is where most of us spend most of our time in a given day but also when

you let it rest, when you give it a break, it flips to this mind wander, your

creative mode. Well we didn't really know what was going on until the last five or

ten years in this other mode in fact, we you know, just like you said, we kind

of stigmatized, we thought, well this must be a waste of time and in school of

course we would say, oh, that kid is daydreaming. - Because it doesn't feel

like we're on task and in fact, we're not. - We're not being unproductive.

- But we're not being unproductive, it's not on task the way we're used

to thinking about being productive so what you're saying is this is a

very important aspect of our creativity that's which ties right in to our

question, how do I get inspiration for writing?

So you're saying let your mind wander a little? - That's right, that's

exactly right and what you want to do is you want to go between these two modes

in a given day. So you want to spend say 90 minutes in executive mode and

then switch step away from the computer or your desk and go for

on purpose and go for a walk for 30 minutes, right?

Or maybe you take a big break in the afternoon when your energy is low

anyways and and if you look at artists and scientists and inventors and all

these folks who we've you know, we say wow they've really contributed something

amazing to society, you find these very similar patterns, they work really

intensely in the mornings, right. They have some morning ritual, they go

through and then they have this, you know, three to four hour block of time

where they and they'll take little breaks in between but this is their, this

is their executive mode, this is when they're in writing mode if it's writing

and then their afternoons don't look like what we usually think of

as work, they go for walks, they take naps, they socialize, they hang

out. - This is sounding fun. - That's good, right? - Hey, but that's part of the deal right?

- That is part of the deal.

- You know what James, I say this all the time, if we're not having fun, we're

doing it wrong, right? But you're saying okay, so this switches our

brain into a different mode and if we're looking for that creative edge, that

what we're doing really is empowering our own brain to provide us with exactly

what it is that we're looking for but we have to get it out of that other mode

first. - Because your brain operates differently in these two modes so

when you go into creative mode, your brain activates something called the

default mode network. Default mode network, it's a series of regions

in your brain that it basically turns on when you go into this mode and quiets

down the concentration or attentional parts of your brain. - Traditionally right behind your

forehead, the prefrontal cortex. - That's right.

So it quiets those down and activates this totally different part of your brain and

as it does that, these parts of your brain are much better at, they're much

freer with how they're organizing information, they have.. - Well they

have a different job. - They have a different job.

They're actually more playful with ideas so as your mind is wandering,

it's not linear and logical, it sort of feels random as you're doing it

but there is vast processing happening that's even unconscious that you don't

even experience and in that, but all we experience is the moment of insight,

the epiphany. - When it clicks. - When it clicks but what we don't realize is

that your brain unconsciously has been really trying to solve that problem for

hours, maybe even days, maybe even weeks. - And it's looking around in places that

you wouldn't have thought to send it. - That's right. - Because that's

what these other parts of your brain do, that's what their job is. - When you want

to do an executive mode, it's basically two things.. You want to learn the domain,

okay. So if your expertise is psychology, if your expertise is nutrition, if it's

medicine, it doesn't matter, whatever it is, you just want to

keep pumping your brain full of good information by reading, by downloading

you know, educational content, whatever that is.

So you want to learn, you want to pack with good information and you also want

to clearly define the problem that you're working on, like what..

- What structured part of all this? - Yeah, and this is why

you want to get to clear any about what you're trying to solve,

whether it's a structure for how to, whether it's the central thesis of what

you're writing about, whether if it's fiction, if it's a character that

you just know needs to be there but you can't quite figure out the dimensions or

are the complexities of that character, what is the problem that you're

fixing? Oftentimes it's more than one problem, right? But if you can define

that in executive mode and then just let it be and go for a walk. - Step back from it.

- Yeah, you don't want to keep trying to figure it out at the computer. I always

ask people, where do you have your best ideas and nobody ever says behind my

computer, right? - You know what, it usually is like in the

shower or while I'm walking the dog or just before I'm ready

to fall asleep. - Everybody says that. - And you're

saying this is because of the way our brain is organized and the

way that it functions. - That's right. Yes, so you have vast untapped powers

of creativity but because of these modes, that switch metaphor is

apt because when it's in one mode, it actually cannot be in the other mode,

they're mutually exclusive so in order to actually really access all of your

creative potential, it's like a requirement to go into creative mode or

minor mode, it basically go back and forth between

these because if you don't, if you stay at that computer and you're just trying

to figure that out, you're closing the window on the

creative side of your brain in the name of being productive. - Could you just

share one other thing with us that you've shared with me

before but I think this is important for you too because what you shared with

me, James, is that it's kind of like fueling and depleting or charging.

Remember what you shared about that? And the two different modes, could you share

that as well? Because I think that's relevant. - So your brain works a lot like

your cellphone battery so when you wake up in the morning, you basically got

a full charge, you know, if you didn't sleep well maybe you've got 70% or 80%, right?

Or maybe 50. - We're assuming they've charged up.

- Maybe if the kids are interrupting at night, maybe it's 50. - Yeah, exactly.

But in general, right, we're got 100% charge. So you wake up and then throughout

your day, you're literally using up mental energy.

- You can see the little battery icon shrinking. - Yeah, that's right.

And this is why late at night we get more irritable, this is why we

get hangry right before dinner. - Executive functioning that that

attention part of your brain is an energy hawk, it's gobbling up your

battery, that doesn't mean don't use it I mean, that's what it's

there for, that's what it's there for but it is depleting

your battery. - Yeah, and it's also responsible for self-control attention

so that all of those executive functions are all right behind your forehead

so as you're using up, you know, think of it this way, it's only

one single battery whether it's resisting brownies,

whether it's staying

focused on a difficult task for a long period of time, whether it's controlling

negative emotions and not just letting yourself unleash on somebody you're

angry at, all of that requires, all that draws on the same takes power, mental

battery, it requires physical neurotransmitters to do that work and as

you use them up, your battery goes low, this is why writers write in

the morning. Look at Stephen King or any of these really famous writers, the

reason they all write in the morning, there's a really great book called How

Artists Work which profiles a lot of very famous writers, the reason is

they've got their best most concentrated like power energy

in the morning. - In the morning. That's true for me, I've written all of my books

before 7 a.m. so I'm hearing you. We've got

another video and you guys, there's more than what I want to talk to

James about, we'll put that in another video about enhancing performance and so

you might want to check that one out as well. To wrap this one up, I think as

we understand that our brain has these two functions and we need of both,

right? This executive functioning, that paying attention it sort of drains

the battery, the mind-wandering part recharges. - It recharges the battery.

- Recharges it and so, how about we get past the guilt and shame of taking a

walk or taking a nap and there's other brain friendly practices

that we can do, we'll address those in that in the other video. How do you

get inspiration for writing? Get into that part of your brain and let it

wander around a little bit and then the executive part will structure it and

I don't ready to please sense, it's like freeform writing but

just capture it as you're in that creative moment, it's critical. - Wow, that's
