Hey today, we're gonna be talking about podcasting software and how to record your podcast without spending a dime
My name is Luis Congdon, co-host of Thriving Launch podcast, doing five figures a month with our show, and today,
I want to dive in with you about how to record your podcast
Without spending any money alright
So one of the first programs that I started using when I first started podcasting
was Audacity this program you can use for mac or you can use for PC, and it's a hundred percent free
Audacity is a fantastic program. There's lots of videos on YouTube so you can get started using it today
You can download it not pay a cent and look if you're thinking
Oh, I don't want the free stuff cause I like paying money, and I like the good stuff
I get it
Let me tell you I've talked to people who are producing music, people who are DJs, people who are rappers
People who are singers and they've all told me Audacity is a fantastic program
Even for professional music now another program that I really like using was Garage band
Garage band is a Mac
program it's 100% free for Mac, and it's a simple to use program
It's pretty much plug and play and you're ready to go
But if you don't like that you can use Audacity now let me give you a couple more tips to--if you're doing
Interviews if you have guests on your show
Some programs that I really like our Ecamm with Skype. So you have Skype
It's completely free and you've got Ecamm which is a $29 program
It's down in the links below and you can use Ecamm
It's fantastic. It's this little plugin and you push this big red button and you record the call and then it's super easy to take that call
Transfer it over to Garageband or
Audacity and you're set to go to edit and make it sound great
Now, if you have the PC, I highly recommend a free program called Zoom. Zoom is easy to use. It's completely free. You just go to zoom.us.
I think the link the links are down below anyways, but you go to Zoom
And you just download Zoom and it's completely free for the first hour it splits the calls
And it's super easy for you to edit with Garageband, or Audacity
Now, I know some people are really into Adobe Audition, but my problem with the Adobe Audition is one
I think it's overkill for podcast. Two, it's like
$29.99 a month and
Three it's really hard to learn. When I first started learning adobe audition
I spent hours scouring the internet
And I bought programs from lynda.com
The programs from various sites have talked at it for people and it was hard to learn how to use that program
So I went back to Garageband went back to using audacity and it was just so much easier and so much simpler
so keep it simple is my number one tip for you when it comes to podcasting and all realms of
Podcasting is you're recording a podcast. You're not creating a grammy award-winning show here
You're just creating a podcast
so keep it simple use the programs I recommend it grab the links down below if you need to and
