Since NBC fired the 60-year-old in November, Roque has met with divorce lawyers and kicked Lauer out of their Hamptons home.

Now Lauer believes he can start fresh both in his personal and professional life.

Any attempts Lauer made to fix things with Roque didn't work, and their marriage is over.

An insider says that the former model decided to take her time with the process for the sake of their three kids: Jack, 16, Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11.

Lauer is staying at a home nearby, so he can still spend time with his children.

He owns a $36 million estate in North Haven, plus a house in Sag Harbor and a horse farm in Water Mill.

NBC was paying Lauer $20 million a year under the contract he signed in 2016.

The couple has been married for nearly two decades, but have lived separate lives for ten years, with Roque living in their Hamptons home while Lauer stayed at their New York City apartment on Park Avenue.

Roque filed for divorce back in 2006, citing extreme mental and emotional distress, but she withdrew the paperwork a few weeks later after he offered millions of dollars in a postnuptial agreement.

Since NBC abruptly fired him, he has been fighting to save the marriage with no success.

Now the disgraced former anchor is looking to the future and would like to find a way to get back on television.

In a handwritten note that he photographed and shared on Instagram (thankfully, in print, rather than that eldritch script known as cursive), Tarek El Moussa of Flip or Flopfame shares his thoughts on feelings and he hopes that his fans will share his message.

He says that he wrote this from the heart. Life is a series of ups and downs and there is nothing we can do about it. Thats good advice for a lot of people. its also a total bummer.

When you are on a high you feel nothing but happiness and positivity, and on the flip side, no pun intended, when you are on a low, you forget what that high feeling felt like.

One, lets be clear that hes not talking about drug-induced highs, just happiness and other positive emotions.

Two, he definitely chose to say flip side, there are a ton of ways to say what he did and only one references the show that made him famous. When you experience a low, understand it is a feeling and not your reality.

It almost sounds like hes describing bipolar disorder, but were not going to try to diagnose him from our keyboards. How do you overcome these feelings? I find that written words are a big part of understanding what you are feeling.

Introspection can be tough, and many people do find that having to articulate their thoughts and emotions helps them to better sort through and identify their state of being.

When you are on a high, write down how you are feeling, how you are thinking, and what is causing happiness in your life. Thats great advice, though most people are too focused on enjoying what theyre doing to analyze their joy.

At the same time, when you are low, write down how you feel, what you are thinking about, and what is causing pain in your life. Sometimes, people are unhappy but arent sure why. You must learn to differentiate the two.

Heres where some of his advice sounds more like its weird and a little self-help oriented. You must tell yourself while youre feeling low that it isnt real, its not your reality.

If were talking about chemical depression, sure. But a lot of the time, the best advice is just that your situation will get better. But.

When you are feeling low, go back and read your notes from when you were feeling high and do the things you did and figure out what made you happy when you were on a high.

That wont work with depression (depressed folks struggle to enjoy the things that once made them happy).

Sometimes the best counselor is yourself. That can be true, though not always. Trust yourself, trust your notes, and believe what you wrote. You are the one that wrote them.. Thats.

But we think that what he means here is that, if youre at a low point and find it hard to believe that happiness will ever again be possible, reading your own words as they describe your own happiness could provide hope.

Recently, Tarek El Moussa spoke with Entertainment Tonight and described the ways in which he believes this his very public breakup has made him a better person. In general, through the process of my separation and divorce, it's been a year and a half.

Yep. And what a wild ride its been, for the couple and for their children. But Tarek and Christina get along for the sake of their children, so thats good.

I came out of this thing stronger, more present and healthier than Ive ever been because I did everything possible to reevaluate who I am and who I want to be. And we think that his self-help note is evidence of that.

Quad Webb-Lunceford has been very vocal about the issues in her marriage this season on Married to Medicine.

She and Dr. Gregory Lunceford, aka Dr.

G, have had their ups and downs on the show, but there are no reports that say the couple are getting a divorce.

However, Straight From the Tea has stated that the couple has separated.

Even so, Quad told The Grio that she doesn't rule out divorce in the future.

She has said that she wants to have a child, but she is reluctant to do so because she and her husband are not currently on the same page when it comes to the state of their marriage.

Quad says that she and her husband have major problems to work out before she can even think about bringing a child into the mix.

Quad told The Grio that:.

I desperately would love one day to have at least one child.

Max being two.

But it would be unfair for me to bring a child into this world in a household where we're not seeing eye to eye … I want my child to be emotionally stable and have the best outlook on love and marriage.

Right now, my husband and I have to really work out some things before we can even consider that.

On an episode of Married to Medicine, Quad told Bravo that she feels her husband is disconnected "from what a marriage should look like." Dr.

G's response was that he pays the bills in order to show his love and appreciation, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.

Quad also said that, though it is not currently on the table, divorce is not out of the question.

She confessed to The Grio:.

I'm definitely not gonna be a person who is unhappy.

Divorce is very tough, but there's nothing that's more important to me than my happiness.

I really don't think there is anything in this world that would make me sacrifice my happiness.

Not a job, not a friendship, not a marriage.

It's just unfair.

Life is very short-lived and it should be filled with love, joy and happiness.

Not stress and anguish and misery.

But, what is the problem with Quad's marriage? In an interview with The Grio, she admitted:.

I think that he feels that he married me and that's all he has to do.

I think a lot of women are finding themselves in my shoes.

I would really like to see more of a partnership in my marriage and I'm working with my husband in hopes that he'll get it.

It has been very challenging.

On Married to Medicine, Quad has said that she feels second to Dr.

G's job and that he has said that marriage counseling has not worked out for the two of them.

Quad also stated that she does not feel emotionally supported and that Dr.

G is too focused on monetary support, rather than love.

And though the two have not filed for divorce, it looks like their marriage needs major help.
