okay so today I went on Amazon and got original equipment replacement blades

for my John Deere tractor here it's the Model X 728 and this is going on the 62

inch mowing deck also from John Deere don't forget to set the parking brake

we're gonna jack it up and get underneath it and I use a floor jack and

make sure and get the height so that I can get my impact driver underneath and

the other thing is after jacking it up I want to make sure and put jack stands

underneath those front axles there just in case my floor jack fails it's just a

lawn tractor but you don't want to take chances I also use hearing protection

because I'm using this pneumatic impact driver to remove the blades when I

replace the blades I use a wrench so and here's a wire brush we used to clean up

the nut so that that socket will go on them we're looking at the blades I've

just taken off and these things have seen 10 years of use and resharpening so

time to replace them very happy to find these on Amazon John Deere original

equipment historically has been very difficult to buy and here it is edge to

edge we're comparing the sweep the sale area whatever you want to call it they

are identical the material on the new blades seems to be actually thicker but

I don't know if part of that is due to the wear and tear so here they are the

John Deere embossment on the blades they're high temper and they're ready to

go they match the blades I'm taking off here exactly and if not a little thicker

and stack them here if you look second to the left they're stacked on top of

each other it's a perfect match and the material just looks fantastic so the

blade comes pre sharpened this is the edge looks great high time I change

these out sharper blades and the 18 millimeter socket is the size you're

gonna need to remove the nut again I removed them with this impact driver but

I replaced the nuts with a hand wrench so I don't over tighten here they're

installed I know my mowing deck is dirty this thing is many years old and it was

just high time to replace them these are the adjustment guidelines that are on

the mowing deck and also just again for reference this

is the 62 inch extra cutting system from John Deere and the replacement blades as

I said before a perfect match they go on several mower types but this one is the
