Good Morning

Yo, What's up

Welcome everybody, My name is Dominik, and today I'd like to show you

How does the life in College looks like

How do we live here at Boston College

How do we share a kitchen, bathrooms etc.

So let's start qucikly because I have to get my laundry

and go to a shop.

Starting in

In every room there is a sink

(some random words)

I put all my stuff in here

I brush my teeth, get ready in the morning

You could see that in a previous video

What's next ?

Here we have a big pin board where I have my timetable

Curriculum of a whole school year on two A4 pages

Everything day by day

BTW, today is saturday - 29th of September

There is a trip to Nottingham, that's wy everything is so quiet in here

Basically there's nobody

I did not go on a trip because I don't have a

'Trips Package' - this is something like

(me trying to explain something in Polish)

There are trips every 2-3 weeks, altogehter there is

15 of these +-, I suppose but I'm not sure

Bed, it's decent

You can sleep on it, pretty comfy i'd say

This is my bedside cabinet

Where I put all of my personal belongings that are most needed

So if we open it we can see my tripod, powerbank

watch, student's ID

you have to wear it on school's property otherwise you can get

kicked out, and we don't want this

because everything is strictly protected

we have security officers.

coming After 6 p.m. everyday

and if you want to go out somewhere

outside of college, living in hall of residence

you just have to sign out in his office

you simply fill in a sheet of paper

where you write what time do you leave and that's all

here I have my making video/gaming/learning setup

here i have my drawer where i stash some school stuff

my collection of receipts that I'm using to count how much money do I spend

well, lately i had some problems with managing my money properly because i simply spend too much

my parents are getting nervious, well it happens

in my next drawer i stash all my pe gear

(i don't even understand myself what am I saying XDXD)

here i have my lower body part clothes (underwear, socks)

Here I have my shelf with all other stuff

I put my school books here, headphones because it's easier for me to focus on doing something when I can listen to the music

here there is my medicine (MED-KIT from fortnite)

which I got from my lovely mom, cheers

business copy book from last year in Ireland - very useful

it's a good thing that i took it with me

because when I revise for my business studies

I can remind myself about a stuff that I learned a year ago which is pretty similar

other magazine about photoshop a basic steps.

Well we have some issues with a internet from time to time

because we've got a firewall

it's just not working sometimes, so if i have to do something real quick

and I don't remember how am I supposed to do this, I just open a book

read through it

and we're cool

now, we're moving into probably biggest part of my room which is

my wardrobe where I put all my sneakers

jumpers etc. everything is nicely stacked

I did it on purpose before recording to make it look fresh and clean

nah, I'm joking, I'm trying to keep it tidy on hangars rather than on the floor

well I can truly say that I can call myself a lazy person

but it's still nice to have everything arranged

on the top shelf I put my backpack, laundry and cleaning pods etc.

afterall room is not the biggest but it's enough

because when you're a student you spend most of your time

outside of a room

there's no point staying here, you go out to meet with your friends, and you just basically come here to study

sleep, I don't know, watch a movie if you need a break or private space and that's all

we'll get to my kitchen

in general we have 8 rooms in your flat

which means that i'm living with eight people (XDXD what is this)

and we all share this kitchen, we make here breakfasts, lunches, dinners - basically everything

from curiosities about England

if you're students, and want to buy yourself a knife

for instance to make yourself food

if you're not eighteen years old then you're lost

in this whole Lincolnshire region, there was a lot of accidents with cutthroats

they are just not selling knives because you could kill somebody with it

nevermind, if you are going to come here or live by ourself being under eighteen

I advise you to bring knives, because I didn't know about this, but luckily

I did find somebody who bought me a knife

So this is not a difficult thing

this is my fridge, empty obviously

cheese, berlinki (polish sausages)

from curiosities about Boston

this town is called immigrants town

so really quater of population which is 65000 thousands if i'm not wrong

are immigrants

and we can find a lot of Polish stuff

ketchup, noodles, juices, literally everthing

including meat

and we have a lot of shops that are Polish or Romanian or others

there's lots of it here

and we have a last point of the trip

we are left with the bathrooms, women's, men's

currently in our flat

because there are many buildings

there is the possibility to put up with 200 people at least

and there are only six or seven of them used maybe

in which there is an average of eight to ten people

because it also depends on the size

and here we have our toilet which we share with five or six boys

I do not know, I'm not sure, I'm not friends with everyone in my building

well

what can I say, we have a shower, a sink without a mirror obviously

you can live through this, the same thing was in Ireland

believe me, you can live through it

life in a dorm - a terribly cool thing when you are younger you can learn a lot

you manage your own time and everything you do

so, it's really cool, I recommend it

and that's everything yo

you don't need to know this (XDXDX)

Stay Focused S2 Ep38: Boston's AirBnB Rules and Regulations - Duration: 3:50.

- Welcome to Focus Real Estate's weekly video series,

and welcome to the Fall!

Both of us are in our autumnal attire here.

- My pumpkin shirt.

- Happy October. - Indeed.

- So we want to share with all of you

some of the changes that have been happening

around legislation in our world here in Boston

regarding short-term rentals.

Airbnb, Vacation Rental By Owners, things like that.

- And this is really in response to

what we're seeing happening around us

and the calls that we're actually getting

from homeowners and that,

and so we did do a little bit more research

into finding out, you know, exactly what is going on

and really, short-term rentals is a nice way to put it,

but I think a lot of people really understand

this as Airbnb.

Well, how that's impacted the marketplace

and what that means.

- Because that's becoming a big business now

for a lot of people.

I know when we travel,

we've stayed - Indeed.

- In different locations in Airbnb.

- It's actually even a verb.

We're gonna Airbnb it.

- We're gonna Airbnb it.

- Yup. - Exactly.

- Or we Airbnb-ed, right? - Yeah.

- But we know a lot of our neighbors and clients,

they do short-term rentals on Airbnb

or Vacation Rental by Owners or whatever.

And there's been some changes in our city legislation

and condo association rules and policies regarding that.

Not everyone is a huge fan

of what's happening in the market.

- And so we've gotten a couple of calls lately,

and one call that we've gotten was,

"Hi Randal, I'm ready to sell my condominium in Boston.

"I no longer live there, and the rules have now changed

"so I can no longer Airbnb my condo."

Another one was someone saying that they need to rent

their single-family house at a full-time lease

because they can no longer rent.

- Do short-term rentals. - Do short-term rentals,

and what we found out was the city of Boston's rules

regarding the short-term rentals have changed.

So now they're imposing a $200 a year fee

for anybody wishing to do these short-term rentals.

They've also...

- So you have to register your short-term rental.

- You havea to register your short-term rental.

You can no longer rent out your place

that you do not live in.

So who's not impacted?

The people that aren't impacted by this change are,

if you own a multi-family house

and you want to rent out one of your units as an Airbnb-

- As long as you live in-

- As long as you live in the multi-family house,

you're exempt.

You'll just have to register the unit.

If you live in your single-family house

and are gone for three months a year,

you could rent it out during that time, short-term rentals,

so those people are not impacted.

- Or if you're renting,

if you live in a house or a unit

and you're just renting out part of it

and you live in there,

you rent out one room out of the house you live in,

that's only a $25 a year registration fee,

but you're still allowed to do that.

- So we'll post down below some of the city's regulations

so you can kind of read

through that yourselves. - And links to those.

- Yeah, so if you have some questions about that,

how that's impacting you,

feel free to give us a shout.

We'll be able to answer any questions you might have.

- Yeah.

Interesting, things are always changing.

Happy to share those.

If you have any other questions for us

or suggestions for topics, post below.

We'd love to hear from you.

- Indeed.

So thanks for watching today.
