Auto news on Youtube Nov 29 2017

Hello there everyone, this Michael from Nexccelerator here,

and welcome to another Auto Show Test Drive.

And the vehicle that I will be test driving today,

will be the all-new redesigned, 2018 Toyota Camry.

And the Camry has recieved a complete makeover to give itself

a more competitive edge in the Mid-Size Sedan Segment.

But does the XSE version of the all-new Camry have what it takes to

be very competitive?

Let's get into the test drive, and see what it's like

to drive the all-new Toyota Camry.

You've already been out then?

You already know the drive route?

Hmm Hmm.

Ok.

When you're ready.

Check my mirrors real quick.

They don't want you backing up.

Oh.

These guys are leaving anyway.

Follow those guys.

Yeah It's a safety deal.

Pretty much protocol.

Very Very Very seldom things have happended.

It's all good.

Turn our lights on please.

Make sure that they're on.

Thank you.

Got one sneaking in here.

Good to go.

Left up here?

Yes Sir.

Either lane is fine.

Either of the left two turn lanes.

Doesn't Matter.

Ok.

Left again.

Ok.

Left at the Convention Center and we're gonna turn right.

Ok.

Well so far, I will say that I'm really impressed with the all-new Camry.

So honestly, I have to say not only the interior is

a completely different ambiance inside,

but visiblity pretty much is relatively much better than the last generation for sure

and it's very easy to see out of both left and right and even right in front as well.

And I know acceleration response is really right where it should be for a mid-size car

so I really do like that they kept everything pretty much the way it is

because honestly the Camry is like the bread and butter vehicle for Toyota

as it's always been for over thirty plus years.

I gotta say that they've really nailed it again right on the dot

on keeping everything simple and really easy to make everything,

I wouldn't really say straightforward,

but not just straightforward,

but it makes things pretty simple to really navigate through.

So cause I mean honestly, this is my first time sitting in the interior of the all-new Camry.

and I'm just in fact like speechless of how well put together the car is.

So it's like a completely a different environment inside.

So I'm like "Oh WOW, What I'm I driving?"

But I mean honestly though,

It's a comfortable ride because I mean,

It's like any other Camry

It really gives you that really nice home feeling

that you would probably come to expect

in a mid-size sedan

so honestly I mean, It's really amazing like how much work

that Toyota really had put into this generation

so it just really shows that they put a lot of

hard work and quite a bit of thought and consideration into the new product

so really, it's just outstanding like how they were able to

really were able to pull it off again

so I'm impressed with how they're able to do it overall.

But um, do you want me to just stay in this lane right here?

Yes that's good.

Ok.

But yeah, honestly though, I just know the outside of it too really

looks really different and It's like absolutely nothing like the last generation.

This new Camry is a completely,

it's a completely different car to be honest with you.

But while it still in fact does have that mid-size car feel to it,

I really do like the fact that they really have done so much to it

to where they've been really,

they've kind of been doing really well on making it attractive

while keeping it pretty simple to use

like everything from how to drive it

and even from having to use the infotainment system

which is a no brainer.

But I mean everything here is nice and well labeled.

You know exactly where everything is.

And it's like honestly,

the turning radius is another thing that I really like about the Camry

Which, like just now as we were going through that intersection

It's really nice and easy to turn

and it really gives you that really good sense of feeling

that you really have a lot of control over what you can do on the road

and that is what makes it really special in another form.

So that is really pretty nice that Toyota still really made the car spectacular

after doing like so much to it

so it's really like pretty cool

how they're really able to stay true to the tradition of,....

What I had meant to say was that, in regards to the Camry's long-running success,

if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

On another note, I was overall impressed with the all-new redesigned Toyota Camry,

as it not only drove very well, but being able to see both inside

and outside of the vehicle, made the driving experience, more pleasant.

Now, I do actually like the fact that when you put it into park

the parking brake actually does stay in place

which is actually in fact pretty interesting.

So, I'm pretty sure a lot of newer cars now do this

but I know at least for this one it's really cool

while you don't have to really worry about have to take your eyes

off of in front of you when you're in park and having

to mess with that which is pretty cool, to like engage it.

which I do like.

Something that I really like about the car pretty much

other than the other things that I mentioned earlier.

It's amazing.

I think that they've done a good job with it.

No doubt.

Absolutely.

I mean It's no wonder why it's one of the best selling cars in it's class

and really I think Toyota obviously has an amazing winner again in their hands

with this car.

So, hands down, it's like one of the best Camry's that I've ever sat in my life.

No doubt.

Motortrend View:2018 Toyota Sienna - Duration: 7:23.

2018 Toyota Sienna

2018 Toyota Sienna.

The sensible Sienna has all the hallmarks of the modern minivan: a spacious interior, advanced active safety features, and a powerful, efficient powertrain.

Its V-6 and eight-speed automatic can be paired with class-exclusive all-wheel drive; front-wheel-drive is standard.

An optional rear-seat entertainment system and a Wi-Fi hotspot keep the kids content.

Standard safety tech includes automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and more.

But the Sienna lacks some noteworthy features, such as the Pacifica's fold-into-the-floor second-row seats, or the built-in vacuum that's available in both the Odyssey and Pacifica.

While this bulky box isn't as sophisticated inside and its ride is less refined than those rivals, the Sienna has plenty of substance to satisfy buyers.

Toyota made significant powertrain improvements to the Sienna in 2017, but it didn't fiddle with anything else.

For 2018, the most obvious update is a new front end and stylized lower-body panels.

The interior has been enhanced with a laminated windshield and acoustic glass on the front-row side windows for quieter running and a new 4.2-inch driver information display in the gauge cluster.

The Entune infotainment system is upgraded across the Sienna lineup with up to five USB ports and an optional 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.

The available rear-seat entertainment system can now stream from Android devices.

Premium audio systems are available, too.

The 2018 Sienna has Toyota Safety Sense P standard.

It includes forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beams, and adaptive cruise control.

The Sienna looks essentially the same as it did when the third-generation model first hit showrooms as a 2011 model.

The most significant change until now was ditching the base four-cylinder engine in 2013, making Toyota's 3.5-liter V-6 the only engine choice.

For 2017, the Sienna gets an updated powertrain.

The V-6 has the same displacement as its predecessor, but boasts an extra 30 horsepower (up to 296) and 18 lb-ft of torque (up to 263).

Its running mate is a new eight-speed automatic transmission that replaces the six-speed.

Together they improve refinement, acceleration, and fuel economy.

The 2018 Sienna adds a litany of standard active safety features and an improved infotainment system, both of which make the minivan more modern and more desirable to consumers.

As in 2017, the Sienna LE is the best bargain and our preferred choice among minivans.

It starts at $34,655 (up $1120 from last year), and its standard features include:.

• 70-inch Entune infotainment touchscreen• Heated, power-adjustable exterior mirrors• Power-adjustable driver's seat• Dual power-sliding rear doors.

Adding all-wheel drive adds costs $2540 and decreases passenger seating from eight to seven by eliminating the removable second-row seat.

We'd make do with the front-drive setup and only add the Outdoor package ($364), which helps protect our investment from kids, dogs, and the elements.

It adds all-weather floor liners, mudguards, and doorsill protectors.

That single option brought our total to $35,019.

While the Honda Odyssey EX-L ($38,335) and the Chrysler Pacifica Touring L ($36,590) are full of features and our favorite alternatives, the Sienna LE is far from bare-bones.

Those who don't need fancy-pants extras and/or prefer a Toyota in their driveway will be content.
