Honda: Hey we're here at an elementary school in Colton today, and it's time for another
Random Act of Helpfulness.
Hi everybody! We're the Helpful Honda Guys!
So you've seen us on TV before and heard our commercials right?
Kids: Ya!
Honda: Ya, so your teacher requested a Random Act of Helpfulness, we're bringing you guys
brand new PE equipment!
Kids: Wow! (cheering)
Bernadette: We had very limited resources for PE equipment and there's only so much
you can do with approximately 100 kids and a couple of balls.
So I thought this would be a good opportunity to ask for a Random Act of Helpfulness.
Honda: And I also have one more surprise.
We brought with us a special friend today, former Rookie of the Year for the Los Angeles Dodgers,
Mr. Eric Karros.
Eric: Do you want to play?
Ya!
Jon: It's almost beyond words, because you just see the joy on their face when Eric Karros
started handing out all these balls and equipment to them.
The fact that they got this equipment and who they got it from, is going to make them
want to play with it even more so hopefully this will get them more motivated to just
start exercising and ya know be more fit.
Kathy: I was talking to one of the students, I heard him say this is the best day ever.
And I said why is it the best day ever?
And he said because they came for us.
And it meant a lot to them to have a special morning and have PE equipment.
Honda: Ya all this stuff is for you guys!
Ya for PE.
Kathy: There is something to be said about watching kids just play and I would like to
say to the Dodgers, and to Southern California Honda Dealers, thank you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of Grant Elementary thank you for
making something special happen here today.
