So how's your boyfriend?
What're you wearing to prom?
I'm like the Long Island hairdresser.
Hi everyone.
I'm Christina.
And I'm Jess.
And welcome to Test Lab, where we try out the internet's craziest trends so you don't
have to.
Unless we think you should.
Today we're going to be using peanut butter as a hair mask.
Peanut butter is actually really good for your hair because it's super high in protein.
And the protein in the peanut butter makes your hair grow longer and stronger.
So that makes this mask work really well for people that have dry, damaged hair.
Maybe a few split ends.
I have super long color-treated hair and it tends to just get really dry and damaged.
The bottoms of my hair are pretty dead, so it'd be nice to kind of just put a little extra
life into them.
So Jess, I think it's peanut butter jelly time.
I was gonna say that!
It smells like peanut butter.
This is a lot of peanut butter.
Wow.
I think I should put this on.
Yeah let's put that on.
You're just going for it.
Ah!
Okay.
Oh my god.
Ah!
Oh it feels weird.
This is kind of nice.
It's like a real thick conditioner.
Why did I sign up for this?
You're really enjoying this aren't you?
This is actually really fun.
This is very relaxing for me.
This is really relaxing for me.
Can you do peanut butter hair masks on me like every weekend?
Wait put your hand up.
It's kind of gross because there's little hairs in it.
Ew, ew!
Jess I think this is—
I think you're all good.
Let me see this.
Oh my god.
Ah!
It looks so disgusting.
Yeah it really does look gross.
It looks like some type of feces.
I'm not going to lie.
At least it's not mayonnaise.
I feel bad for whoever had to do the mayonnaise version of this.
Can you smell it?
(gagging sounds)
Here's your pretty blue shower cap.
Let's put it in a little peanut-y top knot.
Look at that.
Let that soak in.
Let that simmer.
Alright so we used about 75% of this peanut butter on my hair.
And you're hair is just as long so.
Go for the gold.
Bye hair.
It was nice knowing you.
Ooooh!
Look at my scoop.
Oh my god.
How does it feel?
Creamy.
It is tricky though because it gets tangly really fast.
The peanut butter tastes good.
I'm working it in all the little crevices.
My masterpiece is finished.
Do I look beautiful?
Gisele watch out.
Alright wrap it up here.
You have a lot of hair.
There you go.
We made a big mess.
Oh god.
That's disgusting.
20 minutes and we will look like beautiful supermodels with this hair.
You know what would pair really well with this peanut butter?
Alcohol.
Yeah.
Like a nice glass of wine would be so nice.
Oh my god, wine!
That was easy.
Cheers!
I think I saw a little bit of peanut butter floating in mine.
Only thing we're missing is some little cucumbers on our eyes.
So relaxing.
I love spa days.
We pretty much ate all this peanut butter.
You drank all your wine.
Unfortunately.
The cucumbers are gone somewhere.
I think it's time to rinse this out.
I think so too.
So we just washed all that peanut butter out of our hair.
And it took forever.
But we got it all out.
That was the most disgusting that I've ever done.
And my hair feels like crap.
Compared to actual hair masks, I thought it did not work at all.
Washing it out was so time consuming.
You have to rinse a lot and then really get in there with your fingers and with a friend's
fingers to really get anything out.
Once I got through it and started to comb it, it started to feel super silky and soft,
not gonna lie.
But I did have to throw out a giant clump of my hair.
Some things are not meant to be DIY, and this is one of them.
Alright so there you have it.
We came.
We saw.
And we put an entire jar of peanut butter in our hair.
Thank you so much for watching Test Lab.
We'll see you next time.
Bye!
Bye!
