Hey and welcome here again. In this video I have a little tip for you on how you
can get a camera for your next trip, even if you don't have money. So this video
will be a bit shorter and yeah let's first watch the intro...
It's actually a pretty easy tip and it's not a big secret at all. But maybe you
didn't think of that before. To get a camera for free, you just go to eBay and you get a camera
there for a pretty cheap price. The camera that you want of course. Then you
do your trip, do your vacation or make the photo or video shoot or whatever you
want to do with that. And after that, you sell it again. Pretty simple so and if
you make a good bargain at the beginning and you sell it for a bit higher price
later, maybe you have some luck and you can even make a profit out of that. But
at least you can get the equipment for free, right? So that's a pretty good
solution. There's actually another way to get a camera for free. I wouldn't recommend that way as
it's not very nice to do it. But anyway I will tell it to you. Maybe
you can need it if the eBay method doesn't work for any reason. So in a lot of Western
countries it's like when you order something from the internet, you have 14
days of time to send it back if you don't like it. So because in a
shop you would see it, but on the internet you cannot see it directly. So
what you can do is, you can just order the camera or whatever you want to have
and let's say your vacation takes less than 14 days. Then you can just send it
back after that and you get the money back. So the second solution is
really not very nice. Don't do that if you have another option. But yeah I would
say this tip can really work for people that don't have much money, but want to
get nice videos. Especially if you want to start as a YouTube creator or
something and maybe a trip to Iceland is coming or any other amazing place or you
have a shoot for a client and you don't have a proper camera for that. Then it
can really work out and of course that tip doesn't just count for cameras. You
can do it with all of your equipment. So for instance, if you already have a nice
phone or something that's already enough for you from a quality perspective and
you just need a gimbal to get some smoother movement, you can also do it
with the gimbal right? So basically every equipment that you think you might need
and you cannot effort right now, you can get at least for some shots with
that technique. If you like that video then please hit the subscribe button for
more tips about filmmaking. And also if you have some tips or ideas on how to
save money on equipment or even get it for free, then please post it in the
comments below to help other people. See you in the next video.

hi everybody we are not at the coffee joint
we are leafbuyer TV and this is basically the first social recreational
cafe that's been approved to open in the
country but just want to give you a quick look around so you can get an idea
of what it looks like and right now it's just a coffee shop.
right now people have been stopping by all day just to
see it because they've heard on the news just the excitement and what this means
for Colorado and the entire country that is. Meredith is here tell us
a little bit about kind of what this means you mean about the news yesterday
it's really exciting for us my boss and the owners of this joint have worked
really hard to get this to where it is today and just getting that next step
has been awesome and really exciting for everybody where did you hear yesterday
and what does it mean we found out that we are approved to apply for a license
so we will be the first-ever license social consumption Club in the US and
actually in the world even though there are some social consumption clubs in
Amsterdam they're actually not considered legal so it's pretty um
history-making what are people expected to see when they when they come here
like right now people are coming in they can buy certain products but it's gonna
change in a couple of weeks yeah so right now we have some retail products
pipes papers stuff like that forgiveness enthusiasts and users we also have a
range of CBD products so we have some Colorado hemp honey some edibles from
Incredibles and we also have some general snacks like goldfish candy stuff
like that if you want to come in and get a free coffee and grab a snack for the
road and right now the products that you're selling in here are just they're
not infused with no medical or even recreational marijuana because they
cannot purchase it inside of here correct nothing we sell here a
psychoactive it's only CBD purely for your health it's not going to get you
high it's just medicinal okay do you mind giving us a quick tour around it
we'll ask you some more questions so like you guys just showed this is our
retail store some of our cvd products over there
some pipes over here I walk over and show me some of these pipes ago these
are some of our water types they're pretty awesome I think this is the
gamecocks colors one of our employees wanted to buy it just for that we also
have some oil rigs we also try really hard to find the best price this is
really this is a really nice piece and I think it's only priced at $40 some of
our awesome pipes are also even under 20 I think this is even 1699 and that's
really high quality glass so we definitely don't want to rip anyone off
we want to give them the best price and the best product we just got some glass
blunts in the store for people who are trying to save the environment it's a
little extra cash in their lungs
marijuana stocks a lot of people say they only can find the toe sock so we've
gotten a couple of the short ones in here for people okay and we're getting
some comments already from people Harley says Congrats guys can't wait
Andre says woohoo do they have CBD coffee because we're in
the coffee and talk about so actually we are working with some local coffee CBD
vendors trying to get some CBD coffee and right now but just to get the word
out and have people come in we're actually all mentoring free coffee and
it's Fairtrade Costa Rica and organic and that's just to get the word out
eventual have an espresso machine lattes cappuccinos all that stuff and we will
have CBD coffee for sale and at the dispensary next door you can get THC
infuse coffee okay talk a little bit about just you've
had a lot of people coming by and the phones are ringing off the hook and
everything like that tell us a little bit about that so have people just want
to know are you guys open yet what are you able to consume here
where are you located stuff like that and just for those kind of people who
want to know we will hopefully be open in the next three weeks maybe give it a
little less and you can dab vape flower wax and oil and you can consume any form
of edible THC coffee candies anything okay so talk us through some of the
things we're seeing over here as well because I think people are just really
curious about is it gonna change much is it gonna stay the same it's gonna change
a lot this is just we wanted to get some products on the shelves we have some
vape pens some amazing CBD chocolates if you've ever had Cherry Garcia ice cream
it tastes just like it we also have amazing lemon drops come for if you
didn't want to eat your edible just a quick way to ingest it into your body we
also have an amazing product of Colorado hand honey where we have single serve
stick also you can buy a jar which is like it's about 32 servings and that's
kind of a powerhouse a nutrient for everyone because you only get the health
benefits of honey but you also get the health benefits of and then just regular
food these are just some regular snacks like we say we aren't also going to be a
coffee hostal will serve you know snacks pastries things everything arms like
glass giving non-medicinal just regular food talk about if you can come a little
closer at the camera so we can hear you I know I'm away from you but talk about
some of this educational things you're hoping to teach here we really want to
get rid of that stigma that cannabis is for pot heads or lazy people it's
actually a plant that a lot of successful people use medicine Li and
recreationally it helps people with anxiety depression PTSD help with period
cramps insomnia basically it's a tool to help make your life better with no nasty
side effects with like a lot of the other medicine
there is out there let's go in some of the other rooms in the back can you show
us and all of our staff will be trained in all the wonders of cannabis so
actually taking in some classes right now at the Tricolore Institute which is
an amazing cannabis Information Center so this will be our conference room
which is awesome for a lot of vendors because I've heard them say oh we never
get to see our customers try our product we just want to see what their face
looks like when they're eating it all that kind of stuff and this will be a
place where they can actually bring their product and let people test it out
and get direct feedback in the room without getting in trouble with the
media laws what you think will be a big step for vendors and the THC area in
cannabis and talk about a little bit more for people just tuning in right now
they cannot once it goes through they cannot buy a big product here but they
will be able to purchase a next or yes so the dispenser is located right next
door and we're actually working to get a door put in right from the waiting room
so that instead of having out in the tight little waiting room in your car
you can come in here check out our store all that kind of stuff but if you buy my
THC product next door at 11:36 p.m. our dispensary you'll get a free entrance
into the coffee joint and we'll have everything you need to be able to
consume your product if you want to bring your own product that's totally
fine we would just have a five dollar entrance fee if you want to bring your
own wax or your own edibles okay walk me to the back because you have more going
on yes this is just our conference room and then if you head back this is our
event area Coffee joint for this will be an area
where we're gonna host educational speakers we're gonna have yoga nights
movie nights maybe cooking classes a massage neck massage night and we try to
work with all of our companies so that our customers here get a coupon or
discount with the product that we would use at the event or anything like that
but if it Internet's when we're not having events you can just come hang out
here and watch movies socialist other cannabis enthusiasts hang out like there
I get a coffee shop work on your homework baby we have to talk about that
some people can come in no you know we can have vapor of smoke here so if you
want to be a flower you can be a flower you can bake wax you can make oil you
can take dad's we're actually working with this company called lazy susan
which is pretty awesome and they're helping us create it's similar to
something you would read when you went to a hookah bar but it's a little thing
that spins that will have an email in it and a rig so they'll be no flame so we
don't don't worry about anything with that but you'll be alright so doll so
you can take your dad's here and you want to worry about bringing anything
with you yeah and you can fill me in on more so
talk about it just when you know what happened yesterday a little background
since we talked just off the top about it but yesterday here follow me I mean I
want to look at some of the products over here you when did you get the word
from the City Council and tell me how that process worked so it's been a long
process I have not been super involved in the whole process but my boss has
been to countless meetings had to spend a lot of hours in the courtroom daily
hours and so she has had to put a ton of work into this and I think for her it
was a great relief everyone was kind of hugging and high-fiving just excited to
move on to this next step these are actually one of my favorite pipes and
it's a really good quality it's really beautiful and like you see it's a really
good price most stores would sell this for around $40 we just want to supply
people with good quality product at a good price and also does a save like
we've said before there's a big stigma around that so we just want to offer a
place for people to avail in social I think connect with other people who are
interested in cannabis and maybe getting involved or just don't have anything at
all okay so when will you be able to announce to people that you actually get
the official word of the opening day just kind of a day-by-day basis right
now it's day by day but we are hoping to open middle in the middle of March so in
maybe two to three weeks and we will have an opening day event and we'll have
it on our Instagram Facebook our websites everybody knows we're gonna
have raffles a bunch of our vendors are gonna come it's gonna be a really big
event just the cannabis community celebrating together this milestone so
okay Josie wants to know what are hours of operation going to be when you
open so right now our hours are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00
o'clock but when they are open it will be 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday
through Sunday so basically all the time okay and then you're encouraging people
to stop by because again yeah I both just been stopping bike they just want
to see it people have been calling just stopping and being like hey they thought
this was the dispensary or they thought it was a regular coffee shop and they're
pretty excited to find out they get a free cup of coffee so yeah come by I
just want to know about us if you want to if you're interested in hosting an
event here if you're creative if you have a product that you think would do
great here please come by if you just want to check us out we'll be happy to
talk to you and tell you a little bit more about us and I ways that we're
getting some hearts and some likes from people but I'm everyone else thanks we
were I was half listening because I've been following you around what about you
think do you think you want musicians to come down we actually have explored some
live music it's all about maximum occupancy here and we have to figure out
all those kind of rules everything's a little bit gray right now but as we move
on and figure out what we're allowed to do we'll definitely have that for hopes
in the future all right and you say you want people to come down here also
you're gonna have staff that's trained to teach people on proper consumption
not yes doing it we definitely want to tell our customers exactly how to use
our products and like anything we recommend with CVD or THC products start
off with a little bit and then as you go see how you feel and then if it's
feeling great you can add more but we're gonna definitely educate the public and
anyone who comes in here about how to properly consume our products to the
best of our knowledge and the best way you can help them if they need to know
what should I use for insomnia what should I use for hunger what should I
use for depression and we'll be able to tell them the best
for them and the best product okay Meredith take us next door because again
people will not we mentioned this earlier but people dip in and out they
will not be able to purchase product who they're gonna have to go next door so
yes let's go over there meet the manager over there Tyler and she's gonna take us
through and show us the dispensary cuz at work there and it's awesome because
it's literally right next door and eventually there we're gonna have a door
from the dispensary waiting room that monster I take you here cuz right now
it's just a tiny little room do a little noise I going outside
so we have already sign is on their badges so it's a pain for them to come
back
this is Tyler our manager take a screw in chacas do what people can expect here
yeah so typically when you first walk into the lobby you are going to drop
your ID into this little slot here and you'll be greeted by a budtender right
here at this window and our recreational counter is actually the one straight to
the bathtub so this is where most people will be buying their products so
everyone with a valid see baby who's 21 and older with the state ID passport or
a Colorado native tribal card is more than welcome to entered they'll come to
this counter and you can see we have a very wide selection of products we are
pushing harder for the big cartridges and edibles a moment just with the
coffee joint opening is going to be a really good platform for them
so we do have lots of options for things for social consumption and I'll get
close you just so I can hear you yeah here's it's a little out of it there oh
yeah I just want to make sure we can hear you through this so tell us a
little bit about were you when you got the word yesterday was it a bit of a
surprise so I I was told about another week before we were gonna get any word
back so I was honestly in a huge shock about it I thought we were definitely
going to be a little further out on that such a consumption I definitely thought
it was gonna be later than two weeks from now
so is your reaction and is there any way that news no just a little bit I want to
hear you
it's white chocolate with peanut butter and pretzels mixed in it's absolutely
delicious fat some of the products can go into some details of some of the
products especially with animals I see a bunch right here yes so unfortunately
that is medicals to transfer engineer to a currently one of my favorite products
that we carry there 250 milligrams fully disposable unit so the battery and the
oil and everything is already in here and this one tastes like sweet melon and
it has an amazing flavor and the potency is really there as well so you feel the
effects of the th-these goal is the flavor being absolutely amazing my
favorite store is this CNC disposable cartridge these are 500 milligram 510
threaded cartridges these are going to be testing in that 90 or percentile
range which is absolutely amazing for cartridges and it has this absolutely
beautiful clear and golden distillate so these are really purely pulling they've
got a really good a flat effect and the blue raspberry cartridge of these tastes
just like a such puppy anything on this entire wall back here so edibles
departure is possible so you've got a lot of options anything
that you kind of feel uh so we've got the 1906 chocolates you got ich cart
Rose we have distillate live resin we've also got some batteries for those as
well one of my favorite products for next door is gonna be it's a cold brewed
coffee with ten milligrams of THC images so you get that nice Ulric coffee flavor
and the cold brew coffee drink with ten milligrams of added cannabis to kind of
boost the effects of the caffeine and say yeah one bottle it's 10 milligrams
of active THC and this is locally brewed and roasted in Colorado interesting and
I see some other or other drinks back there yeah we've got sodas as well these
are gonna be ten milligram single serve Keith colas they come in four different
flavors so we have blue razz bubba kush wrap beer Orange Crush and
for the passion my favorite thing today with these is make rip your floats out
of the bubble koshary beer the ice cream and the root beer are absolutely amazing
together great so we're just getting some great
comments from folks out there if anybody has any questions for Tyler let us know
you know I will certainly add some I'm gonna keep giving you guys a tour and
you have to talk through some more of the product of what you can take next
door when a fish opens to burn the product next door and
become is it called called is it I would say it's we were learning you're exactly
the first-in-the-nation yeah as far as social recreational
cannabis flow or cannabis cafe would yeah so it is the first social cannabis
cafe consumption club lounge whatever you want to call it in the country that
it has gotten a license for it there's a lot of these small private clubs around
like Colorado Springs and in the Denver area that charge membership fees and
their private property so you're allowed to consume there under some gray area
laws that are you know which they're trying to weed out with these social
consumption licenses to anyone anyone who is of legal recreational age so
unfortunately eighteen-year-old medical patients would not be able to come into
the cannabis consumption cafe but anyone over 21 with a valid ID is more than
welcome all right Richard yes
as my glasses lose that may be a wall in June of 2018 so we have a lot of people
watching from around the country because this is setting precedents this is
historic it is about that so I am actually from the south I moved here
from Georgia two years ago I am very much was born in the Bible Belt if I
don't expect this to happen in my home state at any point in my lifetime but
it's really nice to see that this cannabis movement and this medicine for
so many people is evolved into this big movement for everyone across the country
to talk about legalization and consumption as well as it helping with
economies as well as medical in Texas
people are just interested yeah Colorado is changing of course for so many states
yeah so I mean everything here is so with recreational in Colorado you do
have a 100 milligram THC content limit on edibles so the highest THC content
you're gonna find in any edible on their recreational market is 100 milligrams
broken down into 10 10 milligram pieces and that is average so this chocolate
bar is going to be a 10 10 milligram piece of chocolate bars what was this
one and then any of my THC incredibles are all 10 10 milligram pieces so that's
people have been stopping by all day just to see just to see yeah so we are
located at 11:36 Yuma Court which is right off of 25 at the 8th exit are
really close to downtown Denver you take the frontage road and we are right next
to a - bog roaster in between that dialogue roaster and a shape plus they
just have bigger signage than we do and talk about some of this stuff there so
yeah so this is a live resin this one is going to be sour Pez this one's testing
in the 93 percentile range and you can just see their crystals and see how she
Marie and shiny this is an a reminder of all the product that can
story so they can they can take this next door there are pens where you can
consume concentrates as well as emails from see you're able to put this on even
on an email or use a wax Ken to dab that oil okay anything else people need to
know right now as far as just when you're open they can come see you
yeah so the dispensary is open 8 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Monday through the coffee
joint is open right now from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday we are
hoping to be fully operational and open for social consumption by the middle of
March

New Orleans French Market French Roast Coffee Review - Duration: 3:07.
- Hey, welcome to Coffee, Coffee, Coffee,
your place for average joe coffee reviews.
Today's coffee is outrageous!
(laughs)
(upbeat music)
- Today, we're reviewing New Orleans famous French Market
French Roast.
- So the ultimate.
- Right.
Coffee, and so it's supposed to be bold.
- Right.
- Yeah.
- Bold and French.
- That's all they give you, yeah.
There's no other tasting notes or anything on the bag,
so, yeah, did you know that the French Market
was established during Spanish rule in New Orleans?
- Interesting.
- Yeah, that was on the bag.
- I wonder if French people started it,
they're like, "you may be in charge of this whole place,
but we're gonna start a market and we are the only ones
allowed here", we, we.
(laughs)
Right?
- Yeah, maybe.
- This coffee cost us $3.99 for a 12 ounce bag,
which was on sale from about six bucks a bag.
- Right.
- So, pretty inexpensive this time around.
- Yeah, for the sale, it's super cheap,
but for on not sale, that's like medium priced.
- On not sale.
- Right, so the smell of this,
when I open the bag,
it smelled raisiny to me.
And when we taste it,
I get maybe a slight flavor of raisin, I don't know,
it could be all in my head.
- A tinge.
- Yeah, just a tinge.
- Is that a word?
- But that's not the main flavor to me.
- No, no.
- To me it's, oh sorry.
- No, that's okay, I was gonna drink some more.
- Uh, I think roasty, maybe a little bit
almost bitter, but not much.
Like a little, almost burnt to me.
I don't know.
- I don't think that's as strong as mine,
with the sugar in it.
- Yeah.
- But I do sense it.
- Yeah, so that's where I'm at.
It's like, it's not offensive to me,
it's like pretty good, that's how I'd say it,
pretty good.
- Pretty good, and on sale.
- On sale, yeah, on sale, yeah, great price on the sale.
- So what do you say on the donut rating?
0 to 5, donut, tell me what do you think?
- Three.
Three, yeah.
- If it were more expensive always,
probably less, fewer donuts.
- Yeah, I mean, yeah.
- So, three.
Alright, well overall, I like it, I think we would buy
it again,
- Yeah, I think we would buy it again.
- If it were on sale.
- It wouldn't be my first pick, but yeah.
- If you've tried this coffee or other french roasts
that you've enjoyed or disliked, and you'd like us
to try them, review them, let us know in the comments below,
and thanks for joining us on this review at the
Coffee, Coffee, Coffee Show.
And until next time,
- Keep grindin'.

Norbert's story | Card Games and Coffee Machines - Duration: 3:57.
This is a story from Be My Eyes.
My name is Norbert Müller, I'm 65 years old.
Originally I am from Germany, but I have lived in Switzerland for 10 years.
I guess I was among the first users of Be My Eyes.
As soon as I heard about it, I thought 'that's an app I need to get'.
My first attempts were not really successful half of the time.
It often happened that I called for help, and there was no reply.
But this has changed enormously.
I almost always get an answer, and if it doesn't happen the first time,
it will happen the second time.
One of the important things, which have changed in my life through Be My Eyes,
is that I do not always have to wait until a sighted person comes along.
So now I'm very independent as far as that is concerned,
and I get the information whenever I need them.
Examples of what I have used and am still using Be My Eyes,
for example our coffee machine is not at all well adapted.
It's one of those full-automatic machines, which grinds the coffee and reverse the coffee,
but it has two pages.
On the first page, you have coffee, hot water, espresso,
and on the other page, you have the cappuccino.
I make a Be My Eyes call, and the other person can tell me 'well, it says cappuccino',
so I know I'm on the wrong page.
Other examples, a very nice one.
Somebody gave us a picture or a drawing to hang on our wall.
We called Be My Eyes and asked the person, who was on the other end,
to describe that picture for us.
It was excellent, it was an excellent description!
My girlfriend, she's also blind, she has a second job as a cosmetic counselor
for a certain Swiss cosmetics company.
When she orders the new packages with new products, there's this box,
which has several boxes, which all look alike.
If that happens, we call Be My Eyes, and the person on the other end can tell her
'this is the cream and this is the shampoo' and things like that.
One more example, which I really enjoyed.
One of my hobbies is playing games and also to adapt them,
so they can be used by the blind.
In theory I didn't need sighted help, because the game consists of cards with numbers
going up from 1 through 99, and there's a second pile going from 2 to 100.
So I knew the cards were in the correct order, and I just had to take the cards,
turn them over, and put my braille on it.
But occasionally I forgot whether I had turned over the card or not, so in order to avoid
putting the braille on the wrong side of the card, I used my Be My Eyes and asked people
'is the face of the card showing up or not?'
This was a Be My Eyes story.

Coffee is one of the most widely consumed drinks in the world
coffee beans originated in Africa and are now being grown and imported all around the world.
With the spread of the bean came the spread of coffees social influence as strong as it's strong distinct bitter taste.
Originally consumed in private social settings, coffees social influence eventually took a public shift with the event of coffee houses or cafes.
Cafes became prevalent in Europe starting around the 14th century, where they were used a social gathering places.
In addition, cafes also became artistic, intellectual, commercial and political centers.
This culture is carried on in modern day cafes, which are still very prevalent, thanks to the rise of franchises like Starbucks and their continued efforts of independently owned shops.
Nonetheless, instead of facilitating political gatherings as they did historically in Europe, cafes today tend to primarily facilitate small talk and WIFI usage.

All right, we got a 2014 Toyota, 4runner and we're gonna be checking
Codes on that check engine light and it also has the traction light on
We've got the Toyota
4 runner
Factory Toyota techstream software hooked up to it, and we're gonna go ahead and connect to this vehicle
And see what we find
And then we have a Toyota 4runner 2014
That looks right and also so select the options with or without smart key, this one believe does have the smart keys
I'm bear with me here. It's a little slow
There we go we're connected
Let's go ahead and go into engine control module first
There's a double clicked on this
Camshaft position a actuator circuit Bank -
Then we have a
start ability malfunction
p1604 and a p0020
So it looks like this looks like our p0020 is
a
current
code so this is a current malfunction and that is for the camshaft adjust position a
Actuator Circuit Bank - so that's for the that's for the variable valve timing
Okay, so let's go check our stability control codes here
Let's go back to go back to select system
And we're gonna find abs and Vehicle Stability and trac
Double-click on
I'll go to trouble codes, and there's no code so right now
The check engine light is causing
The traction light to be on so for whatever reason
On the computer saying because of the engine fault
There's no
traction control
Capability right now so it automatically shuts it off
All right, so I'm gonna pull up the diagnostic procedure for this code, and do a quick visual inspection underneath the hood
Okay well first we're gonna do a visual inspection on this cam actuator or
valve timing actuator you could call it the color
We're getting over the c0020 to zero which is a left bank on this one
That's gonna be on the driver's side and as you can see it's underneath the intake manifold there
And I think we got some
Some nice or some kind of rodents here because it looks like the end of the cable was actually chewed off and there was some
evidence down the intake area of
Nice being in here so this one's gonna be a pretty easy fix
Just gonna have to order a new pigtail and wire it in there if this wasn't the case
normally what I do is I would just pull this actuator out and
Test it right on the bench make sure the plungers moving back and forth check the resistance of the valve
Make sure the oil level in the vehicle is proper
Which is required for these things to work the way they're supposed to but
Quick tip to prevent this from happening stick the mothballs underneath your hood
Okay, I believe we have this circuit all repaired for the p00 to zero cam position a actuate a circuit Bank
-
We ordered a new pigtail, and we wired it in reconnected it so now we're just going to
We're gonna go ahead and be down here and erase it diagnostic trouble codes
Using Toyota Techsteam Software clear codes. codes clear yes, all right, so it's all been cleared out
Sut the car off
Restart it
Sure lights are out. All right later. I'll out or looking good
I'll probably do a drive cycle on this just all the monitor
Just can set make sure we don't have any other issues, but it looks like this one is fixed
Be sure to hit the thumbs up button and subscribe to the channel this information was helpful
I'll be posting new videos daily
Thanks again from The Flat Rate Mechanic until next time

JUDY WOODRUFF: In the days since the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, President Trump
and a number of other Republicans, as well as the NRA, have ramped up calls for arming
teachers and other educators.
There's no specific proposal, but the president has suggested it could be done for teachers
who voluntarily want to do so, and who would then be offered a small bonus.
It's an idea generating a lot of criticism in the field of education.
There are some districts and states that have tried variations of this.
In fact, last night, a school in Pike County, Kentucky, gave preliminary approval to allowing
teachers to carry concealed guns.
John Yang takes a closer look at all of this for our weekly education segment, Making the
Grade.
JOHN YANG: We get two views on the question of whether teachers should have weapons in
the classroom.
First, Texas State Representative Jason Villalba, a Dallas Republican.
He's the architect of the school marshal program which allows Texas school districts to train
and arm teachers.
Mr. Villalba, thanks for joining us.
As I understand it, this program allows districts, local districts, to make the decision on whether
or not to do this.
Is that right?
JASON VILLALBA (R), Texas State Representative: ®MD-BO¯That is correct.
These are volunteers at the school.
The district at the trustee level will determine whether or not they would adopt the school
marshal program.
JOHN YANG: And is there any role for the parents to play in this, to decide whether they want
this to happen?
JASON VILLALBA: Well, clearly, the parents are going to play an active role.
One, they elect the trustees who make this ultimate decision.
And, two, they can participate in any kind of meeting that would be used to determine
whether or not the schools would adopt this program.
JOHN YANG: And the teachers are selective.
It's one, I think, for every 400 students.
Is that right?
JASON VILLALBA: Yes.
The idea is the average-sized school campus in Texas is right around 400.
We wanted to make sure there are the necessary personnel to protect those campuses.
So it would be about one per 400.
If the school, for instance, had 800, you could have two marshals on that campus.
JOHN YANG: And what are the rules that the marshals -- these marshals can be teachers,
they can be any school personnel, is that right?
JASON VILLALBA: Yes.
It's anyone that is on the premises of the campus.
So it could be a vice principal.
It could be a teacher.
It could even be a janitor or a coach.
The idea is these volunteers would come forward.
They would ask for extensive training.
These are not just individuals who go to school for three hours and come back and say, I want
to be a school marshal.
They are going to be identical training that our peace officers go through in Texas, 80
hours to be able to confront and neutralize active shooters.
They go through extensive background checks.
They get mental health screenings.
And they have regular, recurring training to make sure that they're proficient in every
skill that they need to be able to act in this role.
JOHN YANG: And what are the rules about securing the weapons during the school day and when
they can act, when they can use the weapons?
JASON VILLALBA: If the marshal is within the immediate vicinity of children, let's say
it's a teacher, then any firearm must be under lock and key within the immediate reach of
the officer.
We don't want someone to have to go three campuses down or into a basement to be able
to reach the firearm.
It has to be within the immediate access, so that we can cut that confrontation down
to seconds, rather than minutes.
If the individual is not in the vicinity of children, let's say it's a coach in office
hours where there are no children around, then and only then can the officer carry the
weapon on his or her person.
JOHN YANG: And I know that this program is supposed to be sort of secret.
You don't want shooters targeting schools with these marshals, but do you have any sense
of how many districts in Texas participate in this?
JASON VILLALBA: We have talked to TCOLE.
TCOLE is the organization that administers the program.
We know that about 50 individuals have gone through training.
We know that the certification number is probably less than that.
They try to keep it confidential.
The last number we heard was in the 20 range for the independent school districts that
have adopted this plan.
It has not been more widely adopted, only because, when we passed the bill, there was
no funding for the training.
And right now because it's not widely known about -- the program isn't widely known, we
don't have a lot of ISDs adopting it.
Mostly, it's been rural areas and rural ISDs that don't have police officers on campus
or even within the vicinity.
JOHN YANG: Teachers groups nationwide, or national teachers groups have been responding
to this discussion absolutely this by saying that they want to focus on educating children,
that the security ought to be left up to professionals.
How do you respond to that?
JASON VILLALBA: Well, I would say that we need to distinguish what we're trying to do
here from arming the teachers.
I hear this program often called arming the teachers.
That's not what this is.
What we're really trying to do is train individuals to become peace officers.
The law in Texas actually created a new class of peace officer that would be the school
marshal to act in this one instance.
Look, no one wants to introduce more firearms into the school place.
Certainly, I don't, as a parent of children, in the public schools.
But in that instance where someone is seeking to do harm to our children, I, as a parent,
want a last line of defense to give my children a chance.
JOHN YANG: Representative Jason Villalba of Dallas, thanks so much for joining us.
JASON VILLALBA: My honor.
Thank you so much.

Foam Rolling Common Mistakes | Stowe Training Systems | Personal Trainer Austin Texas - Duration: 1:20.
- Hey guys.
This is Nate at Stowe Training Systems,
and today I just wanted to go over
a few common mistakes with foam rolling.
Number one.
When you're foam rolling, you always wanna be
on your elbows, on your forearms.
You do not wanna go up onto your hands.
Stay on your forearms.
This basically just puts your lower back
in a more favorable position so that our risk reward ratio
is a little bit more towards the reward,
and way less towards the risk.
Number two.
You want to make sure that you only roll foam rollers
across muscular meaty parts of your body.
You do not want to roll this across like say
your elbow joints, or roll it through your knee joint,
or across your lower back.
So basically that foam roller should not have
the opportunity to touch a bone.
It needs to stay on the side of a muscular
kind of part of your body.
And number three.
We don't wanna foam roll within 30 minutes of waking up,
or really engage in any sort of intense exercises
within 30 minutes of waking up.
The reason is that during the day,
all the discs in our back are getting compressed this way,
up and down due to gravity.
Then at night we lay on our side,
and they get compressed left and right.
Then in the morning, stand back up.
Gravity starts to compress it back up and down,
and it's just gonna take roughly 30 minutes
for that entire phenomenon for that to happen.
Don't wanna be exercising while that's going on.
Again, risk and reward.
Alright?
So there you go.
The top three common mistakes with foam rolling.
Outside of that, really hard to get it wrong.
Have a good day.

Welcome to Texas, Where the Fracking Boom is Back! | Texans For Natural Gas - Duration: 2:44.
This roaring activity, once again is the soundtrack out here in West Texas and southern New Mexico.
The sound, signaling that after years of bankruptcies, layoffs and cutbacks, the American shale boom is back.
I'm Ernest Scheyder with Reuters News, just north of Fort Stockton, Texas. While the global oil industry is struggling to match supply and demand,
it's oil producers here, in West Texas, that are setting their own rules, boosting drilling at the fastest pace in years.
Here, at the well, operated by Scandro, which you can see right over my shoulder, crews are drilling deep into the Permian Basin, the largest oil field in the United States.
Oil producer, Lilis Energy, plans to add 12 wells and expand production seven-fold in 2017, a complete turn-around for a company that a few years ago, wasn't even able to pay it's workers; it barely remained afloat.
That's when oil prices tumbled from around 60 dollars per barrel to below 30, partly because OPEC and it's allies, including Russia, decided to keep global production high, even as demand slipped.
Many describe the move as a price war designed punish America's oil industry.
In 2015, through the middle of 2016, oil prices took a precipitous drop and the basin struck the country, the vast majority, that we're not economic anymore.
But, OPEC this year finally agreed to cut production, helping to stabilize global oil prices; that fact, and basic geology, means the Permian Basin is now back in action.
It's relatively cheap to drill out here and it changed last year in long-standing U.S. law now allows American oil producers to export their crude overseas.
The giants are getting into the land rush, as well. Exxon Mobile, the world's largest publicly-traded oil producer, earlier this year paid nearly seven billion dollars to double it's holdings in the Permian Basin.
But hanging over all this activity is a question: how long will the higher oil prices last?
The eyes of the global oil industry are focused here, on West Texas, especially as oil production increases.
Texas, right now, pumps more than two million barrels of oil per day, and that number is rising.
OPEC leaders are meeting in Vienna later this month to decide whether and how long to extend their production cuts.
A change in policy, while unlikely, could upend the Permian shale boom all over again.

Are Carbs Bad? | Stowe Training Systems | Personal Trainer Austin Texas - Duration: 0:49.
- This is Nathan Stowe Training Systems
just answering the question of, "Are carbs bad?"
Carbs are not bad.
Processed simple carbs are bad and sugar is bad.
However, if you're eating real food, you're fine.
With that being said, certain body types can process
grains and potatoes and things like that better than others.
The only way to know is to start
with a higher level of carbs and a lower level and compare
and see where you're feeling good with your energy levels
as well as able to drop body fat.
So carbs, if they're real food, totally fine.
With that being said,
some people can eat more potatoes than others.
The only way to know is to try one way, take some pictures,
see how your body adapts, and then try another.
And also consider energy levels.
That's it, have a great day.

Welcome To Virtual Training | Stowe Training Systems | Personal Trainer Austin Texas - Duration: 3:17.
- Welcome to virtual training with me, Nate.
I'm glad to have you here, and if you're watching this video
then clearly not only are you highly intelligent,
you must be very, very good looking.
Right now, today, I just wanted to welcome you all
as well as set the expectations to make sure
that you kind of understand what to do
to make this whole thing work
so that you can reach your goals.
So a few things, number one, I need you to check in
every single day through the app, okay.
So every single day, you will have a chance to check in
either yes, I did what I was supposed to do yesterday,
or no, I didn't.
In this case, it's did I work out.
So if you worked out yesterday, you'll check yes,
if you didn't, you'll check no.
And it's about the day prior, 'cause sometimes it might
take you all day to get that workout in.
Now what I don't want to see is no check in at all,
where I have no idea that you're actually following along
and paying attention.
So even if you didn't work out, please check no,
that way I know you are watching the videos,
you're following the lessons, you're engaged
and that you do plan on doing this later in the week,
versus seven days go by, nothing happened,
and you're not getting any better or reaching your goals.
On top of that, there's gonna be a weekly check in
every Friday, there'll be just three quick questions
that'll take you two minutes.
It's just gonna be,
what have you done well this week?
What's worked for you?
So we can do more of that.
What did you struggle with?
Which is my job, is to help you with that.
That's why I'm here, I'm your coach,
to help you through the situation.
And what do you think I can do to help you out more?
So what else can I bring to the table?
'Cause I'm ultimately here to help you be successful.
Finally, every Saturday you're gonna update your workouts
through Google Sheets, you may be updating it the week
as you go along, but by Saturday,
please have that completed,
'cause on Sunday I'm gonna sit down, I'm gonna go through
and see what you've done in your workouts,
sets, reps, weights, what kind of changes,
that way every single week I can dial things in
and get it a little bit better for you.
Outside of that, you have open access to me,
so please message me through the app, not in my inbox.
If you email me it's probably gonna get lost.
If you message me through this app,
I'm gonna see it every single time,
be able to get back to you promptly.
Also, if you have videos of any exercises you're not sure of
please get those videos, please send them to me,
I want to help you as much as I can.
If you're on Facebook, please post them
in the Facebook group, 'cause chances are,
if you have a question, 10 more people do also.
If not, you can message those through the app,
or if you, if that doesn't work, technology issues,
you could just text message them to me,
my phone number's gonna be in this email
that you're reading right here, okay.
All right, finally, open access,
you guys can ask me as many questions as you want,
send me over as many videos, just two things on that.
Please use bullet point format when you ask those questions.
And leave each question to three, or each bullet point
to three sentences max, that'll kinda help us stay on point,
so that I can help you in a better manner,
when I actually truly know what it is that you need.
Also, please give me up to 48 hours to respond back to you.
I'm not saying I can't be a little faster than that,
but as far as expectations go, 48 hours.
And if it takes me longer than that,
feel free to feed me to the sharks.
That's it everybody.
Tomorrow you'll get a new lesson, go to the app,
check in, watch the video, and if you have questions
in the middle, contact me, I'm on your team,
that's what I'm here for.
Have a great day.

Texas girl, 17, stabs newborn to death minutes after giving birth, police say - Duration: 1:54.
A 17-year-old Texas girl repeatedly stabbed her newborn just minutes after it was born
then dumped the body at a neighbor's home and went to sleep, police said.
Erica Gomez of El Paso faces capital murder charges for the Feb. 9 killing.
"I cannot understand what she was thinking or feeling," said Erica Martinez, who told
KFOX she was Gomez's confirmation teacher.
According to court documents, Gomez admitted to giving birth in her bathroom, wrapping
the baby in a bathrobe, and putting it in a shed at her neighbor's house.
She then went
Gomez didn't tell anyone because she was scared, according to police.
While she was sleeping, Gomez's mother noticed she was bleeding and took her to the hospital.
Doctors at the hospital told Gomez she had a miscarriage.
The newborn's body was eventually found by a 13-year-old neighbor who entered his
shed and made the grisly discovery.
Police determined the baby had been left in the shed for 12 hours, from the time of birth
until the boy found it.
"It really upsets me, children shouldn't be abused," said Thomas Moreno, who lives
on the street where the incident happened.
The baby had been stabbed nine times – three times on the neck, once on the side and five
times in the back.
Forensic Examiner Doctor Janice Diaz determined the death was a homicide.
Gomez was arrested on Feb. 23.
She is being held at El Paso County jail on $800,000

Chagas Disease, also called American trypanosomiasis, is a parasitic disease common in Central and
South America, caused by a protozoan called Trypanosoma cruzi or T. cruzi for short.
T. cruzi is transmitted through the feces of the insect triatominae.
Triatominae is a type of reduviid bug also called the kissing bug because it typically
bites people on the face as they sleep at night - one heck of a good night kiss, huh?
The disease gets its name from Carlos Chagas, the physician who first described it.
The life cycle of T. cruzi starts with the epimastigote T. cruzi which sits in the lumen
of the Reduviid bug's midgut.
–Mastigote refers to the whip-like structure called a flagellum which protrudes from the
center of the T. cruzi and helps it move around.
While in the midgut, the epimastigote multiplies through binary fission.
Over time, the epimastigote transforms into a trypomastigote and at that point it loses
its ability to divide, but the trade-off is that it gains the ability to invade human
cells.
In fact "trypo" means to bore or punch into.
Reduviid bugs feed off the blood of humans, and they prefer biting a person's face,
which is why they're also called kissing bugs.
But unlike a normal kiss, the reduviid bug then defecates at the bite site, and if the
reduviid bug is infected with T. cruzi, the feces can contain trypomastigotes.
These trypomastigotes can then infect human skin cells at the bite location; or at mucous
membranes, particularly the conjunctiva of the eyes.
That can happen if a person unknowingly transfers the trypomastigotes by rubbing the bite site
on their face and then touching their eyes.
Once the trypomastigote invades a human cell, it transforms into an amastigote meaning that
it loses its flagellum.
The amastigotes multiply intracellularly, again through binary fission, and then transform
into blood trypomastigotes which can move through the blood and lymph to other tissues.
The blood trypomastigotes then invade more cells, and then again turn into amastigotes
to multiply intracellularly again - and that's how the cycle goes.
Now, a person infected by a T. cruzi infected reduviid bug, can then get bitten by a brand
new reduviid bug.
In that case, that reduviid bug might get infected by the trypomastigotes, and those
trypomastigotes would make their way into the reduviid bug's midgut and then differentiate
into epimastigotes - completing the life cycle.
Transmission from the reduviid bug to a person can also happen through infected organ and
blood donations, which is why blood screening is super important, and it can also spread
from mother to child during a pregnancy.
Now when a person is infected with Chagas disease, there's initially an incubation
period of up to two weeks.
During that incubation period, T. cruzi trypomastigotes invade host cells, amastigotes multiply, and
blood trypomastigote levels begin to increase in the blood.
Usually there's local inflammation as immune cells move towards the area of tissue damage.
When this happens at the bite site it's called a chagoma, and if it happens around
the eye, it can cause eyelid swelling which is called a Romaña's sign.
Further inflammation can also lead to meningoencephalitis, which is inflammation of the membranes covering
the brain and brain tissue, and hepatosplenomegaly, which is when the liver and spleen become
enlarged.
Trypomastigotes have a tendency to target certain tissues and cells - like smooth muscle,
cardiac muscle, and skeletal muscle, as well as neurons.
When those cells are damaged it can lead to problems like a pericardial effusion where
fluid collects around the heart which disrupts its function, or issues with the electrical
signals in the heart leading to heart block.
Generalized tissue damage can also lead to symptoms like fevers and fatigue.
The acute phase resolves when T. cruzi trypomastigotes are cleared from the blood, and over time,
antibodies against T. cruzi gradually decrease, indicating that the infection has been cleared.
However, in some individuals, that doesn't happen, and they go on to the chronic phase
of the infection.
In the chronic phase amastigotes linger in infected cells, and there are elevated levels
of T. cruzi antibodies even though trypomastigotes aren't usually in the blood.
The chronic phase can be asymptomatic, but some individuals develop progressive symptoms
from nerve and muscle damage.
The most notable symptom is cardiomyopathy, where the heart gets really large, which in
turn can cause arrhythmias like ventricular fibrillation and heart failure.
There can also be nerve damage; and gastrointestinal tract symptoms, like enlargement of the esophagus
and colon - called megaesophagus and megacolon.
The most definitive diagnosis for the acute phase is made by microscopic detection of
blood trypomastigotes in a blood smear or buffy coat preparation.
Polymerase chain reaction to detect T. cruzi DNA is also possible for certain sub-species,
even at very low levels in the blood.
But there's no "gold-standard" for diagnosing the chronic phase of the infection.
Some helpful tools are serology which identifies antibodies or molecular tests that look for
the presence of T. cruzi antibodies or antigens.
There's also xenodiagnosis which is when a reduviid bug's midgut is tested for T.
cruzi.
Finally, imaging like a chest X-ray to look at the size of the heart or a barium swallow
study to look for swelling of the colon can be helpful.
Finally, in the advanced stages, an electrocardiogram can be done to identify arrhythmias.
Treatment depends on the phase of the diseases.
The most effective way to resolve the acute phase beginning anti-parasitic medication,
like benznidazole or nifurtimox, early after infection and continuing for 2 to 4 months.
The chronic phase is mostly about managing the symptoms of cardiomyopathy, like with
pacemakers or anticoagulation medications, and treated cases of reactivation with anti-parasitic
medication.
A heart transplant may become necessary in advanced stages.
Alright, as a quick recap: Chagas disease is caused by an infectious parasite, Trypanosoma
cruzi that is most commonly transmitted through the feces of a reduviid bug after a bite.
In the acute phase, symptoms include inflammation and fever; and in the chronic phase there's
gastrointestinal disease
and cardiomyopathy.

This is what my brain tumor looks like in 2013
and it's not a glioblastoma.
It actually in some ways is better and in some ways is worse
because it likes to travel through the spinal column
and spread to every organ in your body.
And I had brain surgery
and the oncologist and the neurologist were like, "This is awesome, we got most of it."
I'm like, "Most of it?"
And then they said, "Don't worry, go home, everything is going to be great."
I get on Dr. Google and I basically...
if I have chemo and radiation I have less than a year to live.
And I actually think that terminal malignant diagnosis was my best friend,
because I knew that if I did standard of care, and my doctors did not tell me this,
that I would die.
So here I am.

U.S. Naval, Japanese medical professionals share treatment methods - Duration: 1:45.
With the growth of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, available staff and resources for
healthcare are limited until the new Robert M. Casey Medical and Dental Clinic opens this summer.
Until then, base residents rely on the host nation's medical care for treatment and support.
Naval medical officers joined local Japanese medical specialists for this year's Joint
Medical Symposium, Feb. 23, to collaborate treatment plans and healthcare ideas.
Col. Richard Fuerst, commanding officer of MCAS Iwakuni, spoke to guests at the event.
"I'm looking forward to improving everything that we are able to do primarily from an administrative
point of view so that we all understand what the rules are and that we're not taking
advantage of you and that our patients aren't taking advantage of you and that we're better
neighbors in Iwakuni City and the surrounding areas.
So, I'm very interested in that and we're going to work hard to improve the situation."
The symposium allows Naval and Japanese professionals a chance to network with
like-minded individuals to help build a stronger medical community for the air station.
Lt. Sara Brubaker, a Naval Doctor of Physical Therapy, presented during the symposium.
"So with this medical symposium the keynote speakers were myself and one of the orthopedic
surgeons from Iwakuni Care Clinic and so we discussed different types of patients that
the orthopedic surgeon sees and then how physical therapists would work with those patients as well."
This year, twenty-two guests from MCAS Iwakuni and thirty-nine Japanese guests attended the symposium.
Reporting from Iwakuni, Japan, I'm Marine Sgt. Sara Abrego.
