UN Climate Change Conference (CoP24) : CSU Students Travel to Poland - Duration: 1:46.
- So, I'm part of a course here
at CSU where we're going to Poland
to be a part of the international climate negotiations
that are happening.
- It's the United Nations framework conviction
on climate conference of the parties.
- So those negotiations will be a chance
for the students to see how those negotiations look,
how countries come to agreement, and all those pieces
come to the table is the goal of this conference.
- And so this conference in particular is a special one
because we actually are going to be working to implement
The Paris Agreement.
- I'll get to learn about what's going on internationally
and all aspects of climate change, adaptation,
and mitigation.
It's a very border diverse conference
and you can really take what you want out of it.
- And it's so neat to see students expand those horizons
so we can't just talk about air quality in Colorado anymore,
we can't just talk about water quality in Colorado.
You really need to talk about it in the larger framework.
- This will be a great opportunity for me to see how
research, particularly research that I've been involved with
and have some knowledge on is actually being implemented
into policy and into action.
- So to see the youth get really excited about not just
understanding the environmental processes, but also
understanding the cultural context.
How do we all work together.
- It's pretty exciting just to think about the scope.
About 30,000 people will be there,
and just getting to participate in something that I
have no precedent for every having participated in.
So I think it'll be interesting to just interact
with people, being able to interact with dignitaries
heads of state, who this is their job, their profession
is really moving these negotiations forward.
So that'll be really neat to see.
