Auto news on Youtube Nov 30 2018

I came from Anhui province, China.

I wanted to apply for a Ph.D. program here in the U.S.

I was interested in tensor categories and quantum computing,

I think both of them are very interesting.

I applied and I got an offer, and I chose to come here.

Our project is about classification of super model categories.

Super-model category is an algebraic structure

with some operation and some axioms.

In math, the classification problem answers the question

given an algebraic structure.

And there are certain conditions:

How many objects satisfy this condition up to some equivalence?

So we're restricting our super-model categories of certain conditions,

and we're trying to figure out how many of them are there up to some equivalence.

Sometimes there are people that have this ability to interact with others

and also really enjoy the work.

I think she's very passionate about mathematics,

about not just the actual mathematics,

but being a part of the mathematical community,

and I think this really helps.

I'm happy when I talk math with other people.

In China, we have a saying:

"Teaching others teaches yourself."

I think that basically summarizes my teaching experience.

Sometimes the students' feedback will help me improve my teaching skills.

To some extent, I think the students are teachers for me.

The math department is very friendly here.

Your choice of your major has an influence on how you think.

I can sense how math changed me from making decisions and the way I'm thinking.

I think for undergraduate math majors,

there are still many possibilities for their future career.

Texas Architectural Barriers online System (TABS): Registering a Project - Duration: 2:30.

In this video, we will show you how to register a project.

In all screens within TABS, your browser window will need to be fully maximized.

When registering a project, there are several ways for you to get there.

The first is for you to click the projects link and select register new project.

Or you can get there from the manage my projects screen from your dashboard and simply click

the Register a new project link.

Most of this process is self-explanatory, however, some things are not, so we want to

touch on those items.

For example, within the process of registering a project, the registration currently cannot

be paused and worked on again later, so you must complete the registration in one sitting.

First enter the project cost. Hit enter.

As a RAS registering, your RAS number will automatically appear and you will follow the

steps to confirm.

Here you will enter the project details.

You will see that there is a new requirement to provide an estimated square footage.

Please enter the correct amount at the time of registration with the understanding that

this can be edited if that changes through the course of the project completion.

Click save and continue.

Now you will enter the owner's information.

If you have additional information to add, such as an owner's designated agent, you

will not be able to enter any information until you check the box to add the contact

information. From this point on, make sure that if you

need to go back, you click the previous page button, not your browser's back button.

Your project details will be displayed and you can either edit those or confirm.

You will then need to make the payment.

This takes you outside of the TABS program so you will need to read all of the instructions

on those screens.

After payment is received, a project registration receipt will be emailed to you and the owner.

This email will also include your new TABS project number which will be the word TABS

followed by the fiscal year of registration and a 6-digit number.

Please keep in mind that you will not get a project number until payment is made.

Texas Architectural Barriers online System (TABS): Sharing a Project - Duration: 1:51.

In this video, we will show you how to share a project between RASs.

Projects can be shared for either the project review or inspection, but only one at a time.

The initiating RAS will still have access to a shared project to view status changes

and edit limited project information.

The plan review or inspection RAS has full access to the project file.

To request to share a project with another RAS, click the manage projects link, then

select the project by clicking the pencil icon. This will take you to the manage project

screen.

From here, select the share/transfer button on the left toolbar and then select share project.

The project information will come up.

Enter the RAS you are wanting to share a portion of the project with.

Select which activity you want to share, enter any comments you have if any, and select share

project.

An email will be sent to the RAS you are requesting to share with and this task will appear on

their dashboard.

They will have 14 days to respond.

Once a project is shared, the accepting RAS will have limited access to the project.

If you receive a request to share a portion of a project, simply click on the blue arrows

for that request in your tasks.

You will then have the opportunity to review the documents and comments and reply to the request.

If you deny the request, you will need to enter the reason for the denial and select

reject transfer request.

If you accept the request, the project will appear in your My Projects list and you will

have 30 days to perform the plan review or inspection.

The requesting RAS will get a task on their dashboard with your response.

-------------------------------------------

Texas Architectural Barriers online System (TABS): Project Transfers - Duration: 1:59.

In this video, we will show you how to transfer a project and respond to a transfer request.

After a transfer is complete, the RAS accepting the transfer will no longer have access to

the project.

Transfers can only be requested after a project plan review has been completed.

In all screens within TABS, your browser window will need to be fully maximized.

To request that a project be transferred to you, from your dashboard, select the transfer

button on the top of the screen.

You will have the option to either select a transfer or respond to a transfer request,

if you have any pending.

You will then need to enter an entire project number that you are seeking be transferred.

Verify that this is the correct project.

Your RAS number will already be entered in the New RAS field.

You will then need to upload the written request for the transfer from the owner by clicking the

upload icon, select the document and then select ok.

You will then enter any comments you want the current RAS to see, if any, and select request transfer.

An email will be sent to the RAS you are requesting transfer from and they will have 14 days to

respond.

There are several ways for you as a RAS to respond to a transfer request.

The first is on the top tool bar as we just discussed, another is by clicking on the blue

arrows for that request in your tasks.

You will then have the opportunity to review the documents and comments and reply to the

request.

If you deny the request, you will need to enter the reason for the denial and select

reject transfer request.

If you accept the request, you will no longer have access to that project.

The requesting RAS will get an email and a task on their dashboard with your response.

Texas Architectural Barriers online System (TABS): Dashboard Navigation - Duration: 1:42.

In this video, we will show you how to navigate your dashboard.

Your dashboard is where you will register and manage your projects.

In all screens within TABS, your browser window will need to be fully maximized.

This is your dashboard.

This is the screen that you will see as soon as you login to TABS.

As you can see, there are 3 colored bars.

The green bar includes your Notifications.

Notifications simply includes a copy of all emails that have been sent on any project

that you have been assigned to.

You can click to view the notifications if you choose to, where you will have the option

to resend or view them.

From anywhere within TABS, to get back to your dashboard, you simply click the my dashboard

button at the top of the screen.

The tan bar is your virtual file cabinet and contains all of your active projects.

We have created a separate video for how to manage your projects so please view that for

more details on this bar.

The final bar on your dashboard is your tasks.

These are project related tasks that are assigned to you that require an action.

For example, if someone registers a project and requests you as the RAS, you will get

a potential new project task.

To take action on that task, you would click on the blue arrow, review the project details

and decide whether you want to accept or decline the request.

If you have made a request from another RAS that has been declined, a red trashcan will

be next to that task meaning the task can be deleted.
