European leaders will congregate in Brussels for the June 28- meet-up, with Brexit featuring as the fourth most important issue on the discussion list at the summit
In recent weeks, EU unity has been brought into question after a host of member states, including founding members Germany and Italy, challenged the bloc's joint approach on handling another summer migration crisis
This means EU leaders will tackle migration as they attempt to reach common ground on a Europe-wide solution to the problem
Security and the bloc's finances will then occupy the leaders' time before Brexit even enters their thoughts
One EU insider described the ' EU divorce as a "footnote" at the bottom of the summit's agenda
And, even when they when Brexit becomes a talking point on Friday, Theresa May will no longer be part of the summit as the Prime Minister is not part of the EU's Article 5 discussions
At the pre-summit meeting of the General Affairs Council in Luxembourg, Article 5 is due to be debated ending with the EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier giving a press statement on Tuesday evening
The Frenchman's statement was due to be held at 8.3pm local time, however, according to one EU official it could be delayed by over two hours while EU ministers discuss rule of law in Poland

A so-called "evolution clause" was added to the European Council's conclusion which offers the Prime Minister the opportunity to climb down from her negotiating stance in order to strike what the EU deems a better deal
Ukip MEP Margot Parker warned Westminster of the intentions behind the EU's new offer, suggesting the bloc's leaders are acting "suspiciously"
She said: "Any further climbdown from Theresa May would add insult to injury for the 7
4 million people who voted to take back control of our country. "The EU have acted appallingly throughout the negotiations and any offer must be regarded with the upmost suspicion
"
