We all want the finer things in life.

Love, comfort and safety are at the top of everyone's list.

For a lot of people who live in the fine state of Texas, safety isn't a problem,

but we don't all get to live in the safest cities -- unless of course you live in Kermit.

The purpose of this post is to determine where the safest cities to live are in the Lone Star State.

Here's the 10 Safest Cities In Texas For 2019:

1-Kermit.

Kermit is a city in and the county seat of Winkler County, Texas, United States.

We bet Kermit is hopping happy to see us list them as the safest place to live in Texas.

A small city located in Winkler County, the city has the best violent and property crimes

per capita of any city in Texas.

There wasn't a single violent crime here in 2017!

The city was named for Kermit Roosevelt after a visit by his father Theodore Roosevelt to

the county.

2- Fair Oaks Ranch.

Fair Oaks Ranch is a city in Bexar, Comal, and Kendall counties in the U.S. state of

Texas.

Fair Oaks Ranch ranks as the second safest city in Texas thanks to blend of moderate

safety in both categories.

It could be fair to say that Fair Oaks Ranch is a fairly great place to live.

It's a burb of San Antonio and should have a fair on the fair grounds each year if doesn't.

I can see it now "Come to the Fair Oaks Ranch fair grounds for the Texas state fair."

3- Melissa.

Melissa is a city in Collin County, Texas.

Melissa Crossing is located in Melissa, Texas, 43 minutes north of downtown Dallas.

In the past decade, the City of Melissa was ranked twenty-first among 1,800 Texas communities

for fastest population growth.

Melissa has been growing like a weed thanks in part to the huge jump in safety - a cool

28 place jump in the rankings.

To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen such a jump before.

The good people of Melissa must be doing something right.

The City's recent expansion is largely due to exemplary schools; proximity to major employers;

and established infrastructure.

The bordering City of McKinney to the south has been recognized by CNN Money as one of

the best places to live in the U.S.

4- Colleyville.

Colleyville is an affluent city and suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth located in northeast

Tarrant County, Texas, United States.

The city is located in the Mid-Cities suburban region between Dallas and Fort Worth, and

is roughly 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Colleyville is well known for its public schools, public safety, wealth, and rural atmosphere.

It fell from atop it's perch of the safest place in Texas this year.

A small increase in property crime is to blame, but nothing to get worried about as it still

has 10 on our SnackAbility Score -- putting it in the top 5% of places to live in the

country.

5- Fairview.

Fairview represents the mid point on our list of the ten safest cities in Texas for 2019.

Fairview is a town in Collin County, Texas, United States.

It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and is adjacent to the 289-acre Heard

Wildlife Sanctuary.

That sanctuary must be rubbing off on humans as the violent crime rate in the city ranks

as the 4th best in Texas.

6- Murphy.

Murphy, or I would probably call it, Murph, ranks as the sixth safest city in Texas, unchanged

from its ranking last year.

Murphy is a city in suburban Collin County, Texas, United States.

Murphy is located northeast of Dallas and has a history that goes back to the late 1800s,

which is probably why its so safe - people pay more attention around old things.

Murphy is a fast-growing community with a history that goes back to the early 1900s.

7- Memorial Villages.

Memorial Villages is a fun creation of the FBI data collectors.

It has jumped up in safety in recent years thanks to a lack of violent crimes relative

to the rest of Texas.

It now ranks as the 7th safest city in Texas.

8- Trophy Club.

Trophy Club is an affluent northern suburb of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

It is Texas' first premiere planned community, built around the only golf course designed

by Ben Hogan.

Trophy Club is no stranger to our lists -- they always find a place somewhere on the positive

rankings.

It has been acknowledged multiple times by D Magazine as one of the best places to live

in Dallas-Fort Worth.

This year, they rank as the 8th safest city in Texas thanks to a drop in violent crimes.

We're sure the town will add this ranking to their trophy case.

9- Keller.

Keller is a suburban city in Tarrant County, Texas in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

Keller advertises itself as "successfully balancing big-city comforts with small-town charm."

In the early 1850s, settlers established Keller and the town became a stop on the Texas and

Pacific Railway.

Continuing the trend of what are essentially last names ranking really well for safety

in Texas, Keller comes in at ninth.

The city doesn't really stand out for either of the criteria, instead it just ranks well

above average for both.

10- Heath.

And closing out the top ten safest places to live in Texas, we come to Heath.

Heath is a city in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties, Texas, United States.

It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Heath follows a similar path to Keller to achieve its ranking.

This is the first time we have seen Heath inside the top ten safest.

LSU Gives Premature Gatorade Bath, Texas A&M Ties Game (VIDEO) | Heavy.com

There's no bigger mistake that can be made in sports than celebrating a victory before the game is over.

And when that celebration comes back to bite you, that's when things get really uncomfortable.

While the LSU Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies are still battling on Saturday night, that mistake happened and took center stage.

The game just rolled through overtimes with the Tigers and Aggies going back-and-forth in a wild finish.

Both teams managed to do just enough to keep the overtime run going, but LSU nearly found themselves in trouble in the first one.

It took a 50-yard field goal to grab a 34-31 lead at that point, but Texas A&M could only make a field goal of their own.

Both LSU and Texas a&M Quarterbacks Heat up in Overtime.

While both Joe Burrow and Kellen Mond have had impressive performances throughout this game, their abilities both as passers and runners were on full display in overtime.

The two signal callers were more than worth talking about, as they combined for 13 touchdowns (six for Burrow, seven for Mond) when the game finally wrapped up.

When all was said and done, it was a 74-72 win for the Aggies in seven overtimes, making the unfortunate Gatorade mishap even more brutal for LSU fans.

Mond walked away as the big winner (thanks to his team's victory), as he threw for 287 yards with six touchdowns through the air.

The Texas A&M signal-caller also connected on a game-winning two-point conversion in the seventh overtime for the win.
