Where can I get money for gently used clothes that we cleaned out of our closets

that we're no longer using?

That's a good question and we're going to talk about that today.

Hi there, I'm Angela Brown and this is Ask A House Cleaner.

This is a show where you get to ask a house cleaning question

and I get to help you find an answer.

Now today's show is brought to us by Savvy Perks.

Savvy Perks is a perks program for small business owners.

So if you run a house cleaning company, or if you run an Airbnb, or if you are a service

provider that services the home it could be you're a landscaper, or a lawn maintenance

person, you could be a sprinkler, or irrigation guy, or a house painter, maybe you're an HVAC guy.

These are small business owners that can benefit from Savvy Perks.

These are things like eating out, for example there are thousands of restaurants that are

in the network and they offer a buy one get one free deal.

And sometimes they offer a buy one drink get one free, or they offer a free drink with

your meal, or a free dessert with your meal.

Every restaurant has a different deal, bonus, incentive whatever for small business owners.

So if you are a small business owner, you're leaving money on the table if you're paying

full price every time you go out for lunch.

And I know for a lot of home service providers that travel, that's every single day, we eat

lunch every single day out on the road.

And Savvy Perks also includes hundreds of famous fast food chains that you know and

love and eat at every day.

So instead of paying full price, go get the savings because the savings are in addition

to everything that you're already seeing on sale.

So just take advantage, it's SavvyPerks.com

All right on to today's question, which is from a homeowner who took our advice and did

some decluttering and organizing, and she went through all of her closets and she pulled

out all of the clothes that no one in the family is wearing anymore and the family has

gone through this massive weight loss program.

So a lot of the clothes are new, or in new condition, and they're not wearing them, and

they will never wear them because they don't ever want to ever get back to that size.

So she wants to know where can I sell my clothes?

Okay, well selling your clothes is a fun thing because that means you're getting rid of it,

and you're going to earn some money at the same time.

So I want to ask you, do you know about Facebook Marketplace?

If you don't, you may want to check it out.

You can just simply type in the search bar of Facebook, Facebook Marketplace.

And what it does is it pops up because it knows where you are via GPS.

It pulls up all of the local deals near where you are.

And they could be home and garden, they could be clothing, it could be people sell cars

on there.

So it's all kinds of stuff.

Today on there I saw a free washing machine, and somebody is giving away a free bed with

box springs and a mattress.

Someone else is giving away free chairs that they just don't need or want anymore.

And then there are people selling things.

So it's a great place to find things that you may need, but also to sell things that

you're getting rid off like your clothes.

Now in my area where I live, and I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, there's a consignment

store and it's a chain of consignment stores, and you take your clothing in there, or it

could even be your household items, they do furniture as well.

So you take things that you no longer want and you say,

"hey, would you buy this from me?"

And they say well we won't give you money now, but what we'll do is we'll hang onto

it for 90 days, and if after 60 days we haven't sold it, we're going to send you a note and

say do you want us to keep it a little longer, or do you want us to go ahead and reduce the price?

So we'll set it at this price for 60 days and if it doesn't sell then we'll ask you

to reduce the price for the last 90 days.

If at 90 days the product hasn't sold, we're going to ask you to come pick it up or we're

going to throw it away.

So that's the agreement that you have, you do not get any money up-front, but they do

all the selling, and they put your clothing inside their stores.

And then when people come and buy, you get a percentage of whatever it is.

And the percentage is usually around 60 or 70% because the consignment store also has

to make money.

So that's a great way where you don't have to do anything other than drive your stuff

over there and drop it off.

Now, there are consignment stores that will come to your house and they will pick up your

stuff, and they will also pick up used furniture.

So if you have someone coming over I recommend running through your house and saying what

furniture am I not using?

Do I have any extra chairs or extra hand me down items from grandparents that I've inherited

that I never wanted and I don't use and they're taking up space in my house?

And put them away on consignment and let someone else sell them.

Now if you're great at selling and you know how to wordsmith an ad then what I might recommend

is eBay. eBay is still of the largest popular auction and selling sites.

I remember finding out about eBay about 22 years ago and I was so excited.

I was like you mean I can buy stuff at a discounted rate just by bidding on it?

And I fell in love with eBay, I'm a huge eBay fan.

So if you have the time, and this is going to be the catch, if you have the time to sell

the stuff because if you have a crappy ad nobody is going to buy your stuff and that's

going to be a waste of time and a waste of money, but if you know how to write an ad

and you're great at taking pictures of your stuff you can put together some spectacular

ads and then because eBay is based on ratings and reviews, you want to make sure that you

have great communication with your customers and that you follow up and that you ship stuff

quickly and you send them confirmations of the shipping and that you invite them to leave

you a rating and review.

So it's a great way to get rid of a bunch of stuff that you no longer need or want.

Then there's nextdoor.com and I'm a huge fan of Nextdoor.

It's a neighborhood app, and it's designed where you type in your neighborhood and it

alerts your neighbors of things that are going on.

So people sometimes will say well I have a lost dog, or I have a lost cat, there are

people that are in search of items and the items might be I'm looking for a used violin

for my youngster that's going to school and is going to be studying violin this year.

And then people will say, oh I have one, I can sell it to you for 25 bucks, or whatever.

So there are people that do all kinds of deals on Nextdoor.com, and it's a great place to

take pictures of your stuff and to sell them on Nextdoor.

I know lots of my neighbors sell lots of their used stuff on Nextdoor.com,

you can also give stuff away for free.

So I just went through my closets and I got rid of a bunch of stuff and I had to ask myself

this question, do I have time right now to create eBay ads?

Do I have time to create Nextdoor ads?

A lot of the stuff I have is pretty good, but I don't have the time and it's not worth

it to me to even pay somebody else to create ads and sell the stuff and pack it up and

ship it and do all that stuff right now, that's not where I am in my life.

So I decided instead to donate it.

So I just donated it, I took it all in the car and I just donated it.

And now I'm done with it, it's gone, it's free from my life and someone else can sell

it in their thrift store.

So there are other ways of getting rid of the stuff.

So it's going to come down to the available time that you have,

are you any good at writing ads?

Because if you're not, it's going to be a waste of time if you try to sell stuff and

it doesn't sell.

And then try the consignment stores because the consignment stores will just take it from

you if it's of value to them and they think they can sell it.

And then at the end they will give you a fee back for whatever they're sold.

So those are a couple of options to get you started, but I'm so excited that you went

through your closets and you got rid of all the stuff that you have decided

you no longer need.

And I'm absolutely thrilled that you guys have lost the weight and you've made the commitment

to live a healthier life because when you take care of yourself, you can take care of

everyone in your household and your business even better, so congrats on that.

And I'm so thrilled that you're getting rid of those clothes that no longer represent

that part of you.

AlL righty, til we meet again,

leave the world a cleaner place than when you found it.

How to get ready for shows | Show preparation - Duration: 7:37.

Harrod you have a show to play I'm not going why I don't know how you're ready

okay welcome to another video I'm your host for your beats and today I'll be

doing a discussion video requested by mouths in one of my previous videos

regarding how to get prepared for shows and every way regarding from physically

mentally formants feedback stuff like that if you guys have an idea for a

video or a discussion even in the comments of DMA at Weaver beats any more

topics and if inspires me there's a great chance I'll get started on it

right away okay so my personal recommendation is start with something

light like a small DJ gig like less than 30 minutes or something in this sort

definitely something on the shorter end time wise just so you don't get too

overwhelmed I wouldn't recommend jumping straight

into a four hour DJ booking or some sort of complex live performance I think you

should just get started with like a DJ set or some sort of local performance

whatever whatever you do just just to get started and from there you can build

on the reason why I suggest people get started simple is because there's a lot

of informants other than just actual performance you have to learn how to

read the crowd you have to learn how to deal with promoters gather how to not be

nervous the other learn how to amp the crowd up so I feel like it's best to

keep your performance simple in the beginning just until you really get

comfortable

I mean this should be obvious but you want to well practice at least a day

before of your performance and that is like them the very latest you shouldn't

be practicing the day of the performance and like just rehearsing it I mean you

can get away with it but I wouldn't recommend doing that consistently it's

very stressful and it's just not the way to go about things if you're doing some

sort of vocals make sure not to over practice either because you easily wear

out your voice before your performance which is kind of the whole point you

know what I mean if you're playing with others make sure you're coordinated and

cohesive make sure you guys are happy with how you sound together not just

individually if you practice the mics on a sound system I recommend doing that it

may seem like it won't make that much of a difference but really you can get a

nice view of how we were to consume and you listen to yourself through a mic

through a speaker system it's totally different than how you sound in real

life I three well practice enough that can run through my performance in my

head step by step without forgetting a step another thing I've been learning

recently those need to be prepared for that I'm prepared say you're doing a

little DJ set there's a good chance you're also gonna be playing for some

dead air at some point so I would have like an extra mix ready or some sort and

try to try and make sure it's ready for the room for the type of genre or the

room would like maybe have a few mixes ready this is happening to me many times

personally where I was prepared in every way for the performance but I wasn't

prepared for extra shit that I wasn't really thinking about but it happened

seems to happen every single time

so if you have any form of anxiety doing shows can mess you up

anxiety can make you overestimate the objective importance to these events and

causes you to stress out for weeks beforehand I personally used to freak

out for weeks about performances in my head and I don't know I don't know

exactly when it changed but during some point at some point in my life I started

getting more busy and I stopped being able to think about it as much and the

last I started to think about my upcoming shows the less they started to

bother me and now I don't even get nervous before them except for maybe

like right before I go on stage when I'm looking at the stage but I used to not

be able to eat for like like the whole day of the show I would have a hard time

eating stuff like that and really it'd be for no reason - so after noticing

that now now I want to have an upcoming show I try not to overanalyze there

think about what's gonna be there or anything so unless I'm practicing or

preparing for the set that's all I'm doing no extra thinking for me as I said

before make sure you work up the things in increments no one's gonna be

headlining a stadium for their first show

me personally if I do exercises they have the performance like the keep it

very minimal if I over exercise I get dehydrated and I get headache I'm in a

bad mood I just want to avoid all that if

possible so I don't do any any heavy exercise today of I try to make sure I

eat a balanced somewhat varied meal nothing too experimental or crazy and if

I have coffee nowhere near the performance just trying

to make sure my pooping situation is stable

last thing you want to be doing during performances run in the bathroom or

shitting your pants so ya know coffee I

personally like to do all my packing at once I don't have anything pre-packed I

just like to pack things before I go to the show and the way I do it is a packet

in the order of the signal chain just to make sure I have every single thing I

need and I'm not missing anything try and make sure I bring everything it

might need different cables connectors see I'm not sure if they have an eighth

inch plug or a quarter inch plug I'll bring both I always check the weather

when I go to a show as well too and make sure to bring any sort of plastic bags I

may need to cover my equipment

we're talking about performing here and that means being at the top of your game

everyone has their own method of getting into the zone before they do any sort of

extraordinary task me personally if I can do whatever I want before a show I

would like to listen to like really inspirational song so that gives me

chills before I go on stage like this into a tune that I really love something

that makes me really like music now I feel good about going on stage to play

music I also like to be completely sober or if I do drink I'll just have one

drink and that's just to calm the nerves anything after that and I find myself

just feeling high and unable to do my job as well as I was before I wouldn't

suggest skipping soundcheck at all but especially if you're using stuff other

than what's already there so make sure we watch yourself listen on different

things have your friends take videos from their phones or cameras and whatnot

listening back to yourself is a great way to hear how you sound and how the

audience thought you sounded trust me some way different on stage than you do

off the stage off the stage they're getting a much different mix in what

your monitor mix is make sure they ask your friends for feedback it's show and

make should always take it with a grain of salt obviously some people have

terrible feedback some people have great feedback if something isn't working try

to figure out why isn't working and how you can fix it or if you need to change

it and you don't want to just judge your performance but also your interaction

with the crowd this is something that I did not find out until much later I

think I think I'm not a very social person normally and communicating with a

bunch of people is not very easy for me I like making music but talking to

people it's not that easy you realize some more that I need to get on the mic

even if I'm just playing beats people gotta know who I am what I'm doing what

I'm here to do and they got to know that I exist hey I hope you guys know this

video I'm your host for your beats and this has been a video discussing the

optimal approach to get prepared for shows again if you guys have any ideas

for videos like this make sure to tweet them at me or comment them in the

comment section down below thank you for watching goodbye

5 Tips To Get The Best Out Of Your English Classes ACTIVATE SUBTITLES FOR THIS ONE - Duration: 7:18.

hi everyone this is Tom Meira, and I'm here to talk to you about the ways you

can improve your learning English, right? so by here I'm saying I'll be addressing

some tips on how to not only to improve in English but also to identifying areas

of where are kind of traps for students you know? First of all first tip of the

day is: If you've got a bully as a teacher, you know, just you know just get rid of

him, just ditch him, you know, if this if you're learning from

you know from a private teacher from a private teacher paying tuiton, just

get rid of this guy because if you've been bullied you're not gonna be able to

improve so much that's that's reality you're not gonna be able to you know to

rely on this guy and a feel worth it and everything else right? And if the school

is backing up the guy is basically, you know, not worth it honestly so drop out

or that bloody place and try a better place or a better teacher, whatever

second tip you know if you're basing your studies in grammar so that's a big

huge mistake in there because you know me so native speakers of English will

never you know kind of interpret interrupt you and ask for clarification

because we made a gramma mistake unless that grammar mistake is something

that could be misunderstood or misinterpreted, do you know I mean? But most of

times they will interrupt interrupt you and also more than ask for

clarification they will point out vocabulary mistakes, do you know I mean? what

do you actually what you actually mean by that word, do you know what I mean? So if they can

grasp the grammar, it's fine, I'm not I'm not saying that grammar is not important

but it shouldn't be the center of the universe of his studies, right? now in

terms of vocabulary it comes with the pronunciation! Never alone never only the

vocabulary like if you learn just the words the way they're written you're not

gonna be able to you know pronounce them correctly so you should focus on the

pronunciation of the words you're learning so as you learn new vocabulary,

learn the pronunciation of it, basically, the third tip I think it's a pretty

crucial one and I wouldn't say is the most important but is that it's

absolutely vital ! Do not be intimidated by anyone and try to learn English not

being shy...you know do not be afraid that's what I'm trying to say it's not

really be afraid of making mistakes as that's the point because you're not a

native speaker, you're not a teacher, you're learning a new language

that's quite commendable! Congratulations! and so get yourself motivated and we

should be able to motivate ourselves much more than than anyone else you know

and fourth tip: Learn from your mistakes, you know and if you're teaching are

making you not correct you like that, like correcting, making YOU correct

yourself, and making you a facilitator of yourself oh he, he or she, or they being a

facilitator of your studies and making you realize mistakes and try to you

know kind of simply being able to, you know, learn from it! Because we learn by

making mistakes that's it! If you don't make mistakes you don't learn... that's

basically it, so the last tip the tip number five: Should be... you know listening

listening, and listening there are loads and loads

of loads of students they have that presumption that they don't watch anything

they don't listen anything they will learn or grasp the language... no! not really! Because

the way I'm speaking to you it's different from the way of millions of

others speakers of the language so basically you have to listen to

different varieties of the languages and different styles, think obviously if you want to

listen out there to someone, pick a subject you like, you don't have to

necessarily go to a site of English teachers... they are lovely English

teachers out there: Native speakers, non-native speakers, but basically what

I'm trying to say is that if you want to go for speaking you know pick something

you like there are lots of subjects on YouTube rather than YouTube you've got

the Internet itself, you've got Netflix, we've got all kind of sources, so go on

and open your mouth and start speaking! start listening and don't get bullied

you know don't don't don't don't kind of... don't promote bullies, you know get

rid of them they're not worth it they're just toxic people, and most of all and to

tell you the truth is: believe in yourself

get corrected in a way that... correct yourself, but you feel being corrected

correctly be correct in the constructive way so you know get ready to tell the

teacher, teacher you told me this... you know... you told me this...

How do I actually do that correctly? How do how do how do I go through the correction can

you just make me retain that correction? so and most of all you know: START speaking

that's it! Ihope it's pretty you know useful for you I'm here

that's not only for you you know you learning English for you then, if you are a

native speaker or even if you're a

teacher and maybe you're just interested in

British English and I lived in UK for some time and the specialize in that

variety of the language so anything can go and don't forget if you are

interested in having classes in English and you know I'm

here I do Skype so lots of

Skype lesson so just get in touch with me you've got my contacts in the cards or send me a message and comments and that's it

brilliant! so lovely seeing you and to the next time see ya

Trump FAILS To Get Charity Fraud Lawsuit Against Him Dismissed - Duration: 3:44.

Donald trump was dealt a major blow by a federal judge this past week, uh, when that judge

ruled that Donald trump could not get rid of a lawsuit against him and his children

for allegedly misusing charitable funds from the trump foundation and using that to pay

themselves to pay other bills and to benefit his presidential campaign.

Now, in case you're not familiar with it, a New York attorney general, Barbara Underwood,

she spent two years investigating this case.

Uh, you know, even before she became the age of New York, now that she is the age she is

going forward, they have filed the suit against trump and his children, Ivanka, Don Junior,

and Eric.

And basically what happened was they took money into the trump foundation, millions

of dollars.

They then used it.

Some of it was used to actually pay off lawsuits for Mara Lago.

Some of it was used to benefit donald trump's presidential campaign and other parts of that

big pot of money.

We're just used to pay people from the trump organization.

Very little of it went to charity.

And while that part's not illegal, using it to benefit a presidential campaign or using

that money to pay off other lawsuits and settlements is 100 percent illegal.

Donald trump and his lawyers had been trying to get this lawsuit thrown out, trying to

argue that this judge overseeing the case does not in fact have jurisdiction over Donald

Trump because he is a sitting president of the United States.

Well, this judge, as well as the judge earlier in the summer, both ruled, yeah, we definitely

have jurisdiction over you.

This happened in New York.

Were judges in New York, not sure where the disconnect is, but yes, we have jurisdiction

over you and this case is going to move forward.

The best thing about this case, other than the fact that multiple judges have now ruled

that it's going forward because we have jurisdiction, is the fact that this is state law.

So if Donald Trump or any of his children are convicted, they can't be pardoned.

You can't be pardoned for violating a state law.

Only a federal law.

So say for example, Donald Trump junior goes to prison for the misuse of charitable funds.

There's literally nothing his father can do to get him out of prison.

That would be legal.

I'm sure there's plenty of things he could do that would be illegal, but you get what

I'm saying.

He can't save his children.

He couldn't save himself if this thing goes to criminal proceedings right now it's just

a civil suit, but if this civil suit goes the way that the prosecutor thinks said, well,

it will 100 percent open up criminal liability against Donald trump and his children and

if they go down for this, there is nothing that anyone can do to save them from going

to prison and that's why this particular investigation lawsuit has the biggest potential out of all

of the Donald Trump lawsuits or investigations to actually take him down and in his presidency.

That is a long shot.

It is not likely to happen, but there is still that glimmer of hope in there that maybe this

particular investigation and lawsuit and potential criminal proceedings could possibly take down

the trump administration.

I'm not usually an optimistic person, but in this case I'm going to set aside a little

bit of optimism and a little bit of hope that Barbara Underwood could be the hero that we

desperately need in this country right now.

How to Get More Views and Subscribers on YouTube in 2019! - Duration: 14:05.

- You know, it's been an interesting year

when it comes to YouTube analytics.

We've got some brand new ones.

We even got an entirely new creator studio

which is still in beta.

So what about 2019, what should you be focusing on

to help grow your channel?

Let's take a look.

I wasn't supposed to do that.

- vidIQ. - vidIQ

- [Announcer] Vidiq.com.

- Yeah, I almost had a disaster there.

What I usually do with the intro is put my hand

over the lens, but I was a bit quick in my actions,

and I prodded it with my finger,

and it wasn't attached to the tripod properly,

and we almost had a disaster.

Whew.

Hello folks, welcome to vidIQ, my name is Rob.

If this is your first time

in these glorious YouTube surroundings,

we are the YouTube tool and channel

that aims to help you get more views

in less time by educating you on your YouTube journey.

We do have a Chrome extension, which will help you do

just that by researching YouTube, analyzing videos,

auditing your own channel and taking actual steps.

It is free to download, there is a link

in the video description.

And today is gonna be a bit of a combination of the two,

YouTube analytics on the one side, vidIQ analytics

on the other side, but let's start

with that new creator beta studio.

First thing we need to do is visit the beta studio.

If you haven't been there already,

if you're on the classic creator studio,

as it's now called, you'll see this big blue link

in the top left hand corner.

If you click there, you'll see a radically different

analytics page, and it's constantly evolving.

It could look different to this by the time you see

the page as it's changing every single day.

If you want to go back to the classic studio,

you've got a link here, but also, if you click on settings,

you can change default creator experience

to either classic or beta, whichever you prefer.

If you do want to look at the new analytics

that we're going to share with you today,

you do have to go to the YouTube beta studio,

and the classic creator studio will be decommissioned

at some point in 2019.

The first analytic we want to look at is click through rate.

(upbeat music)

Put very quickly, a click through rate

is a number of times that somebody clicks on one

of your thumbnails or titles from the amount of times

it's been seen.

So in this example, three people saw this subscribe pillow,

and one of them chose to pick it up.

That's a click through rate essentially of 33.3%.

With that in mind, in the creator beta studio,

from the dashboard, you want to click on analytics,

you'll see a range of tabs at the top here

of your channel analytics, and you want

to click on reviewer, and this will show the impressions,

so that's how many times a thumbnail is seen,

and then the click through rate,

how many times somebody's actually clicked

on one of those titles or thumbnails

to watch one of your videos.

If you click on the click through rate panel,

that will show you the click through rate

of the last 28 days, and you can also go to different cards

in the YouTube analytics and look at a breakdown

of click through rates.

So if I click on top videos here,

it will list the click through rate

for individual videos as well.

You know I'm positive something's changed in the background,

but I can't workout what it is.

Let me know in the comments.

All right, now you know what a click through rate is,

why should you care?

There's three reasons that I can think of.

First and foremost, before content,

somebody's got to see what you have to offer,

and that's through your thumbnail and your title,

so essentially, every single analytic

in your YouTube channel trickles down

from click through rate.

They've got to actually click on your thumbnail

to watch your contents.

So we've got watch time, subscribers, comments,

and all of the rest of the good stuff.

Second, and it's one of these classic

Rob Wilson catchphrases, so do remember it.

Viewers judge videos by their thumbnails

just as readers judge books by their covers,

so it's really important to have a good first impression.

And finally, although curiously this section

is divided into three sections itself,

your click through rate represents intrigue,

and what I mean by that is intrigue of a topic,

intrigue of a thumbnail, and intrigue of a title.

As a very recent example of this, and no doubt you've seen

on our channel, we were covering a topic

of PewDiePie versus T Series, and the subscriber rate,

and because it was a very intriguing topic at the time,

and we used some very targeted keywords,

and some colorful thumbnails, our click through rate

for that particular topic went through the roof.

Now here's something really important to remember

about click through rate.

It's not an exact science.

When people say what should my click through rate be,

the YouTube answer is an average of between 2 and 10%.

Our answer is improve on what

your current click through rate is.

Click through rate varies from video topic to video topic,

and it's heavily influenced by where you are simply

in the order of suggested videos and search pages.

If you're at the top of a search pages,

you can have a terrible thumbnail,

but you will have a high click through rate

just because of the prime real estate

of where you are on YouTube.

Don't get caught up too much

over where your click through rate is

versus somebody's else's.

Look at your click through rate, and aim to improve it

one or two percentage points over 2019.

That will bring in a significant number of views.

(scratching)

(lid opening)

(popping)

(blowing)

Why can't I do that?

(blowing)

Sorry, I didn't realize you were waitin' for me there.

Audience retention.

(upbeat music)

Channel analytics can give you some insight

into average view duration, but when you've been running

a live stream for a few days, that causes complete havoc.

So what you wanna do is look at audience retention

on individual videos.

To do this, click on the videos icon,

and then find the video that you want to investigate.

We'll look at hashtags here,

and then when you start to look at

the individual analytics for a video,

you see audience retention here,

and this is the box that you really want

to start studying.

If you mouse over the graph,

you'll see the audience retention at that point in a video.

Something else we can also do is actually click

on a point and then press play,

and so you can see the audience retention in line

with the video in realtime.

So, there was a significant drop off there,

maybe I need to investigate why.

There was a spike in audience retention here,

so maybe I did something right.

It's all about going through each of your videos

with a fine tooth comb to find what works

on your videos and what doesn't.

Look, we all know that watch time is the ultimate king

on YouTube, so you might just say well instead of trying

to work on audience retention,

why don't I just make longer videos,

and yeah, you could do that,

but let's try to reverse engineer this for a second.

Generally speaking, if you can get your audience retention

above 50% on videos, YouTube tends to favor that content.

So whether your videos are two minutes long,

four minutes long, six minutes long,

aim first to make your content better

to improve audience retention,

and then start to think about making longer videos

if that's what you want to do with your content

to get more watch time,

and lead to the magic YouTube formula.

On each individual video, you have likes and dislikes,

and vidIQ has a funky little tool

that turns it into a likes to dislikes ratio.

Well, what if YouTube had the same thing

for your entire channel?

Well they do, and this is it.

YouTube recommended content.

When viewers watch your content and enjoy it,

they watch it for longer, and YouTube loves this.

When YouTube loves your content,

they want to share it with more people.

That means putting it on the home page, browse features,

the suggested videos on watch pages,

and the more you can push this line into the orange,

the more YouTube is doing all the hard work for you.

It's recommending your content,

so rather than people having to search and find your content

or finding it through the subscription feeds,

which they're already aware of,

they're finding it in random places,

and it's almost being forced upon them

because YouTube wants to share your content

with a wider audience.

So if you can manipulate this magic formula

and get this orange line to be more orange and less gray,

that works for you.

How do you do that?

Well that's done through engaging thumbnails,

intriguing titles, which are then clicked onto,

and then you have a lot of watch time on your content.

As we say, getting above 50% with your audience retention.

And it just so happens

that vidIQ has the perfect illustration of this in action.

Take a look at our September analytics.

Two and a half million impressions,

and if I mouse over the information panel,

it shows us a breakdown of where those impressions were

on recommended homepage and watch page,

but so many people having to find our content.

But if I change our analytics to October

when the T Series versus PewDiePie,

subscriber rates was in full flow.

Look at the radical change here.

17 million impressions,

and YouTube was recommending our content way more,

especially on home pages.

So a lot of people were finding this story very interesting,

and we were one of the leading channels on this.

Led to a click through rate

which was significantly higher than before.

One and a half million views, watch time up as well.

So we were feeding YouTube exactly what they wanted,

they were loving the content and sharing it

with a much wider audience.

Oh, by the way, if you are enjoying this video,

don't forget to smash the like button,

but at the same time, if you haven't already done so,

gently click the subscribe

because we've only got one of these.

The reason I'm asking you to do that

is because that's what we're gonna look at next,

converting your audience into subscribers.

(upbeat music)

I may be missing something here in the new analytics,

but I can't find a good way to show you subs gained

from videos in the new studio,

so we're going old school here.

If you go to the classic creator studio analytics,

go down to subscribers, and then on top level page,

if you click YouTube watch page, this will show you

all of the videos that are converting viewers

into subscribers, really valuable stuff here.

Let's put all this into a loose business analogy.

Your YouTube channel is your shop,

and people look through the window,

the thumbnails and the titles,

and they're intrigued enough

to enter your place of business.

They have a look around, but nothing catches their fancy,

they move on, but there are those who are interested

in what you have to offer,

and maybe they purchase something,

and those are your subscribers,

repeat return customers to your content.

There is no analytic that tracks trust,

but think about when you subscribe to a channel,

why do you do it?

It usually revolves around some element of trust,

whether it be to entertain, educate,

or emotionally impact you.

People who subscribe to your channel from a video watch page

usually do it from a light bulb moment,

something that instinctively and instantly drives them

to click that button.

We have a tool within vidIQ which can help you look

at subs gained a lot quicker than through YouTube analytics.

It's the subs gained column on our channel audit,

and ironically here, we can see

that one of our better performing videos

for bringing subs into our channel

is a video all about how to create

a subscribe button watermark.

If you click on the view more section here,

you can see all of the videos that are driving viewers

to turn into subscribers.

It's almost like your trust column,

so one that's definitely worth checking out.

We have click through rate,

we've also got audience retention,

YouTube recommended content, and subscribers gained.

Out of those four analytics,

which do you think is the most important one?

Let us know in the voting poll up here,

and the reason we're asking you that

is because we're seguing nicely onto analytic number five,

audience engagement.

(upbeat music)

We said earlier that gaining subscribers through your videos

is like building trust with your audience.

Gaining comments, likes, and dislikes through your videos

is building engagements,

and that's another really important facet of YouTube,

which you should be keeping an eye on.

Strictly speaking, YouTube doesn't track engagement rate,

but fortunately our channel audit tool does

through this column here, so you can see what videos

are generating conversation, or whether they're polarizing

in terms of how many people react to it

with likes and dislikes.

Astonishingly here, we have one video

with 68% engagement rate,

but that's because we were having a little bit of fun

with YouTube premieres.

Do check that out if you have time.

In terms of engagement rates, we also want to look

at the finer points as well.

If we scroll down the channel audit page,

we can look at how often the end screens are clicked on,

you know those boxes right at the end of videos.

You can check here, and maybe make changes

and see if those changes are effective,

and also the interactive click card rate.

Usually they can be in the single digit percentage,

but polls do awesomely well, trust me,

whenever you have a voting poll in your videos,

it does really well.

Here you might be asking how on earth does a poll

get 122% click through rate.

This is likely because on one

of our PewDiePie versus T Series live streams,

we had a poll of which team do you support,

and people must have been clicking on that card so much

to see the results after they'd voted

that it was just being clicked on so often by viewers

when they were returning to the live stream,

so lots of useful information to take a look at here.

And, as a final thought on engagement,

do not forget the community tab if you have access to it.

It is so powerful.

In recent days, we've been putting out polls

and asking questions that are getting more feedback

from the videos themselves, so if you do have

the opportunity to canvas your audience with a voting poll

about what video you should make next

or just get general feedback on things

or start a conversation, do not forget the community tab.

All right then, here is the most important piece

of advice in the entire video, and I've left it until

the end so I do hope my audience retention has held out.

All of these analytics are of course very important,

but in 2019, what I want you to do is take action

on the data that you're getting from YouTube and vidIQ.

It's all well and good knowing what YouTube is telling you,

but if then you do exactly the same things

and expect different results, that's a sign of insanity.

And with all that being said,

it's time to eat some of our own dog food.

These are the two end screens you're most likely

to click on according to YouTube analytics.

Prove us right, we'll see you in those videos

in just a couple of ticks.

Enjoy the rest of your video making day,

and of course, 2019.

An easy way to get more Trustpilot reviews for your business using your website - Duration: 3:09.

In this video, I'm going to show you an easy way to get more Trustpilot reviews using

your website.

Trustpilot reviews can really help you to get more customers.

Social proof is one of the most powerful ways of getting credibility with potential customers.

It's easy for you to say how amazing you are, but it's much more effective if other

people say it for you.

Trustpilot have a really neat feature, even with their free accounts, that lets you put

a button on your website inviting your visitors to leave you a review on your Trustpilot account.

I'm going to show you how to add this button to your website.

First, you need to login to your Trustpilot account, if you don't have one, you'll

need to create a free account.

Search Trustpilot and go to their website.

Click on 'For companies', and then click 'Login'.

If you need to create an account, click 'Sign up for free now' and follow the instructions

to create your free account.

Once you have an account, enter your email and password and click 'Log in'.

Then click 'Integrations' and you'll see the 'Trustbox library' option.

Click 'See Trustboxes'.

The Trustbox you want is the 'Review collector'.

Click on 'Learn more' and then click 'Get code'.

This will give you the HTML code that you need to add to the page of your website where

you want the button to appear.

Copy and paste the code into a Notepad or Word file.

You then either need to give it to your website designer or use your website builder to add

the button.

I'm going to show you how to add the button to any website that you've created using

YourSimpleSite's website builder.

If you don't already have a website and you need one, there's a link on screen to

a video showing you how to create one.

Go to YourSimpleSite, login to your account and click 'Edit my website'.

Scroll down the page and click 'Customise your website here'.

Then click 'Next step' three times to take you to the 'Your website pages' screen.

Click on the page you want to add your button to, I'll choose 'About'.

To add the button you use the HTML Code widget.

Click the icon and this will open the HTML Code wizard.

Paste the code from the file you created into the box.

When you've finished, click 'Add' and your button will be added to your website.

It'll automatically be added to the bottom of the page that you selected, in this case,

the About page.

But, you can easily move it to a different place on the page using the up and down arrows.

You can view your Button on the preview panel, which will display like this.

But, if you want to see how it'll look on your website click 'Full-page preview'.

When you're happy with it, click 'Publish' to apply your changes to your live website.

Now your button is on your website, the best thing to do is to get in touch with some of

your best customers that haven't already left you a Trustpilot review and ask them

to visit your website and leave you a review.

This can really help to charge the number of reviews you have on your account.

HOW TO GET PROMOTED AT WORK - Duration: 2:37.

- Hey, friends, Dave Burkus here.

Welcome back to the DailyBurk.

Today we are talking about how to get promoted.

I mean specifically how to get yourself

in consideration for that promotion,

how to jump from individual contributor to manager,

how to be seen by leadership

as the next person who should join them in leadership roles.

And what I think is interesting about this

is when you look at this research,

there is a lot of, there's a lot of practical advice,

practitioner literature on there on things like

having the right presence, having enough charisma,

things that we would associate with somebody

looking the part of a leader,

but it turns out that's not all that effective

for actually becoming a leader.

So a really fascinating study by Kim Peterson Alex

has them look at over 200 people in the Royal Marines,

kind of like their high potential program,

the people who are already identified

as being on the fast track to being leaders,

and specifically looked at whether

or not those leaders' peers viewed them as a natural leader

or somebody with charisma or presence,

right, a good potential leader

or viewed them as a follower,

somebody who took care of the team,

who took commanders' orders,

somebody who could be counted on to execute.

Now, you already know where this is probably going.

It was actually the people who were good followers first

that were more successful in leadership

or more likely to get into leadership that became leaders.

I mean there is that saying that if you want

to be a good leader, start by being a good follower,

and it's actually true.

So if you're trying to put yourself into consideration

for a promotion, yeah, you can worry

about things like making sure you have the right charisma

and the right presence and what have you,

but really look at your manager,

look at your leader, look at the team that you are on.

How can you serve that team?

How can you be seen as a good leader from that manager?

How you can be seen as somebody who's gonna take care

of what the execute orders are,

is gonna take care of what the team needs,

somebody who's going to be a good follower?

Because in the long run, not only will it make more likely

for you to be a leader,

but being a good follower will make you a better leader

once you get there.

So that above all else is how to get promoted.

Thanks so much for watching the DailyBurk.
