Anthony Davis' dad doesn't want him in Boston - Duration: 3:02.
Anthony Davis wants out of New Orleans, and the Pelicans now must decide whether trade their franchise player before next Thursday's deadline, or hold off for the potential of a better offer this summer
ESPN has reported that Davis would like to land alongside LeBron James in Los Angeles, but Davis told reporters that he did not specify a destination in his request to the Pelicans
The Lakers have reportedly offered several trade packages to the Pelicans this week, but according to many analysts, the Celtics may have the best assets to offer to New Orleans this summer
Due to the "Rose rule," Boston is restricted from trading for Davis until Kyrie Irving signs a new deal or is moved, but Irving is expected to opt out of his contract – and in a new twist, just walked back his pledge to re-sign with the Celtics
If the Pelicans hold on to Davis for the rest of the season, the Celtics could potentially offer a package including Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and several draft picks, which might edge out the Lakers' offer, even if Magic Johnson is willing to part with everyone except LeBron James
The uncertainty surrounding Irving could be a significant issue for the Celtics, though
Boston is won't want to give away all of its assets in a trade for Davis if Davis won't sign a long-term deal, and Davis might be unwilling to commit if the Celtics lose a superstar like Irving
There's also the question of whether Davis wants to spend a significant chunk of his career in Boston
That remains unknown, but Davis' father, Anthony Davis Sr., ripped the organization when contacted by ESPN's Ramona Shelburne
Via ESPN: "I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas
No loyalty. Guy gives his heart and soul and they traded him. This is just my opinion, not Anthony's
" Before you start celebrating, Lakers fans, we have some bad news for you too
According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the Pelicans "aren't interested" in what Los Angeles has to offer
Via NBC Sports: "From what I know, from sources have told me, the Pelicans are not interested
They're not interested in any of it. They're not interested in two first-round picks and all four young players
They don't like the Lakers' offer." Gallery 2019 NBA All-Star game roster: Starters and reserves view 26 images

Anthony Davis' father would never want his son to play for Boston, report says - Duration: 2:09.
There is one team Anthony Davis' father would never want his son to play for and it isn't going to make Celtics fans happy
"Boston.I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas
NO LOYALTY," Anthony Davis Sr. wrote in a text to ESPN. "guy gives his heart and soul and they traded him
anyone can print that." And the plot thickens . pic.twitter.com/FTkmkTtePY— Chris Mannix (@SIChrisMannix) February 2, 2019 Thomas led the Celtics to an Eastern Conference Final appearance two years ago, but had to miss the last couple of games due to a hip injury
He ultimately had to have surgery on said hip and Boston would trade him the next offseason to the Cavaliers as part of a package for Kyrie Irving
Anthony Davis Sr. went on to say this is not necessarily how his son feels. "This is just my opinion, not Anthony's," he said
"I've just seen things over the years with Boston and there's no loyalty." Read This http://images
