Auto news on Youtube Feb 2 2019

- February is the shortest month of the year,

which basically means you need to be choosing

your vacation days very wisely.

Luckily, we can help you with that.

Hello internet, my name is Wil Fulton

and this is "Thrillist Travel Guide,"

where we not only teach you how to be a better traveler

and, in turn, a better human being,

we tell you where you should be going specifically

whenever you feel those itching little pangs of wanderlust.

To be quite honest, February is a great month to travel.

It's short,

it's cold in most of the country,

and you've gotten through one month of the year,

so you deserve to treat yourself to a little

break from reality, or at least, that can be the excuse

you use to justify buying a plane ticket.

Every month, Thrillist's travel team handpicks

destinations that you should be visiting

right (beeping) now.

February is no exception, so without further

unnecessary setup, here are our expert picks

for some of February's top vacation spots.

First up, let's start with a shocker.

OK, I realize that a trip to Missouri in February

with its less-than-tropical climate

sounds more like a sick punishment than a

well-earned vacation.

But we do have some reasoning here.

St. Louis is home to the best Mardi Gras celebration

outside of the Big Easy.

Some contend it's a little less crowded,

and by extension, a little more fun for visitors

who aren't interested in fighting off crowds

to score some sick beads.

Outside of that, St. Louis has some great restaurants,

a slew of solid museums, and of course,

their legendary arch.

This is the perfect excuse to visit St. Louis

in your lifetime and check the arch off your American

landmark bucket list.

- Well, look at it this way honey.

This is a part of America we never get to see.

- Next up, for those who want to fully embrace the winter,

in this case, specifically fresh pow pow, brah,

consider Vermont.

On the East Coast, it's pretty much a given

that Vermont has the best slopes for all your skiers,

snowboarders, tubers, and people who just like to

chill in the lodge drinking hot toddies.

Which is totally fine, by the way.

You can also embrace even more obscure winter sports there.

We're talking ice climbing or even a day-long dog sled

through the Vermont wilderness.

And of course, the cherry atop your Vermont trip

should always be a stop at Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory

for reasons that should be painfully obvious,

even in winter.

♪ No need to imagine ♪

- For those looking for something a little more romantic

than pummeling down a ski slope and potentially

busting your (beep), we've got Venice, Italy.

Now February is an extremely solid time

to book a trip to Venice for some very valid reasons.

First of all, those Instagram-ready alleys

are way less packed in the earlier months of the year.

So you can get that profile picture you've always

dreamed of without some dumb tourist

gawking in the backdrop.

Secondly, the cooler temperature means, well,

to put it bluntly, the city will smell less bad.

If you've been to Venice in warmer months,

you'll know those gorgeous canals don't always

smell like a bouquet of roses.

In February, this will be less of an issue.

All factory preferences aside,

February 16th marks the kickoff of the Venice Carnival,

which is a ton of food, fun, floats,

and, well, you probably get it.

It's a big party and you'll wanna be there

if you have any semblance of fun in your body.

Now that we've given you a taste of what our list entails,

you probably wanna see the rest of the picks, right?

You can click the link to the article

that will be somewhere around this video

to find out why other destinations

like Elko, Nevada, or Belize made our list this year.

Hopefully, Belize is a no brainer.

It's warm, it's nice, it's cheap.

Who wouldn't wanna go to Belize?

I actually might go to Belize right now.

I'm takin' off.

I'm Wil Fulton and that was "Thrillist Travel Guide."

HOW TO DECLUTTER YOUR HOME and create space + PRINTABLE GUIDE - Duration: 7:59.

How to tackle clutter in your home and create space, peace of mind and an organizational

system of your things that you love.

I'll tell you everything you need to know to get started in your home today if you want,

so keep watching.

There are so many ways, so many different techniques to declutter your home.

There's Konmari, there's the minimalist game, the closet hanger method, swedish death

cleaning.

Or if you're like me, you've maybe tried a little bit of everything.

These techniques are all fine and great ways to go about it, but it can get a bit confusing

and perhaps overwhelming even, if you're sitting in your home thinking, where would I even start,

and which method should I choose.

So let me walk you through the most important steps and strategies you'll need to declutter

your home and create a space that you love, regardless of the decluttering method.

I've also summarized all this in a free printable, that you can download using the

link in the description.

Let's begin.

Something I have learned from the Konmari method and very practical and helpful during the decluttering

process, is to envision your dream space first.

This doesn't have to be a big thing, you can do a vision board if you want but you

can also just sit in your space, close your eyes for a minute or 2, and just see what comes up,

what you want your home to be like.

How do you want it to feel, what purpose should it serve?

If you keep that vision clear in your mind, or you can write it down, it

will help you later on whenever you get stuck.

Very valuable.

Decide if you want to sort your things by category or by room.

This is something that a lot of the decluttering techniques have a different opinion on.

My favorite strategy is a combination of the two, and if you want to, you can just copy

mine:

Some things I like to tackle by category.

These are: – clothes and accessories

– books – papers

– toys – electronics, cables, Cds, DVDs etc

– home accessories – Work/hobby related objects

Other things I like to tackle by room or closet.

These are: – the kitchen

– the bedroom – the garage

– storage spaces – the car

– the bathroom

This combination works best for me.

For example with clotheing and accessories, if you have them stored in multiple places in your home, it

doesn't really make sense to declutter them by space, it's far better to gather everything that you own,

all your clothes and accessories, into one big pile, see everything you own, and decide from there.

But for example kitchen items will most likely already be in the kitchen, which is also the

only area where they will be used, so that works best to tackle as a room.

When you start decluttering, whether it's a room or a category today, always take everything

that you own out first.

Create a big pile and go through all the items one by one.

This may feel a bit time consuming and overwhelming maybe, but it's really the most effective

way.

If you leave items in, you will find you have to go back to that space again and again because

there will still be items there you haven't really considered.

So in the long run, taking everything out will be more efficient.

When going through your items one by one, how do you know which ones to get rid of and

which ones to keep?

Especially if you haven't practiced with decluttering, this can be quite difficult.

I always ask myself the same questions.

These will help you figure out what to do.

– How often do I use this item?

And be honest here.

If you haven't used it in the last 6 months or a year if it's a seasonal item, you probably

don't need it.

– Do I have duplicates?

How many do I need?

In most cases, you only need one of a certain item, so if you have more than one, pick your

favorite and get rid of the rest.

– Does this item spark joy?

This is the konmari question and it's based on how an item makes you feel.

If you hold it and you feel a flush of joy, than the answer is yes.

If you feel sad, guilty, stressed, or anything like that, the answer is no and you can do

without it.

– Do I want to bring this item with me into my future?

This is where your dream home you envisioned earlier can help you out.

Sometimes an item has meant a lot to us in the past, so we feel bad about letting it

go, when really, it's okay to acknowledge that this item is not something that will

keep serving us in the future.

– Does my current home do this item justice?

I recently saw a documentary of a couple owning hundreds of pairs of shoes, all stored in

their box throughout their home, never being worn or even looked at.

They said they loved their shoes, but does this really do them justice?

Perhaps only owning a few that you actually enjoy wearing will add much more value.

– Do I need this item NOW?

You don't have to hold onto things in case you might need them later.

If you don't need them now, chances are you can do without them later as well.

– Would I buy this again if it broke?

This is a great way to establish whether you actually need something, or if you just think

you do.

– If the item more valuable than the space it takes up?

Items take up space and require maintanance.

Are they worth that?

Or would the extra empty space you created by getting rid of the item be more valuable?

– Does this item serve the purpose of the room?

If you have a room designed as a home office, but there are three big piles of books and

magazines, do they help you with working in this office?

I find it very helpful to immediately decide what to do with the items I'm getting rid

of.

Instead of making one big pile of things that have to go, create a system and start

sorting things into categories right away.

This will help you get rid of them quickly and not keep bags and boxes of stuff lying

around.

I always sort them in the following categories: give away, sell, donate, recycle/toss.

This also helps with any feelings of guilt you might experience, because you know you

went about this mindfully and you didn't just throw things in the trash.

This is the key for creating space and keeping your home organized.

Give all the things you're keeping a home and make sure you can easily store and access

them.

Make sure they serve the purpose of the room that they are in.

And try to keep them close to where you use them most.

Decluttering is a skill and like with all skills, pratice makes better.

If you start with these items, there's a very real chance that

you will get stuck.

But if you save them for last, you will have already practiced a lot, and you will know

what to do with them.

I discuss decluttering sentimental items in my "decluttering roadblocks" video, you

can find it here and in the description for more advice about this topic.

If you've never decluttered before, taking action and decluttering your home will be

time consuming.

It's best if you set a realistic expectation as to how much time it will take for you to finish

so you won't get discouraged.

If you want, you can even make a planning and schedule a certain amount of time weekly

or daily to help you stick to it.

If you have a realistic expectation, you won't

be disappointed and you can keep going as long as it takes for you to create your dream home.

I hope this video helped you out, if so please give it a big thumbs up.

Don't forget to download the printable in the description and of course subscribe to the channel for weekly videos.

See you soon, happy decluttering, byebye!

Instance Quest Guide: The Deadmines - Duration: 6:34.

Howdy Y'all, Galator here, and for the next episode of Instance Quest Guide, we are going

to be doing the Deadmines, now the Deadmines are for levels 18 to 23, however, if you are

a tank or a healer, I would recommend holding off until level 21 so it's easier on your

party Now the Deadmines are located here on the map, in Westfall in the town of Moonbrook

and it only has Alliance quests, so there aren't going to be any Neutral and any Horde

or any class quests so I'm just going to jump right in with our first Alliance one, The

first quest you are going to collect is "Collecting Memories" from Wilder Thistlenettle in the

Dwarven District of Stormwind in the little inn, located here on the map, What he wants

you to do is to retrieve 4 Miners' Union Cards from the undead located outside the instance,

For this quest you will either get some mail boots or some leather gloves, Now he also

will give you "Oh Brother..." which wants you to find his undead brother, located in

the same undead area outside the instance, kill him, and retrieve Thistlenettle's Badge,

This quest will give you a two-handed axe, While you are located in Stormwind, go to

Shoni the Silent, located here on the map, and get the quest "Underground Assault" what

Shoni wants you to do is going into the Deadmines and collect the Gnoam Sprecklesprocket from

the goblin shredder located in the mast-room, for this quest you will either get some mail

hands or a wand, The fourth quest lies at the end of fairly long quest chain known as

the "Defias Brotherhood" The chain starts at Gryan Stoutmantle, located on Sentinal

Hill, located here, where he is going to give you a quest to travel to Redridge to visit

Wiley the Black, now Wiley the Black is going to give you his own quest to return back to

Gryan Stoutmantle, when you go to him he is now going to send you to Master Matthias Shaw,

located in the SI:7 Barracks in Stormwind, Mathias Shaw is now going to give you a quest

to go back to Gryan Stoutmantle, and now this is where the quest chain gets a little more

difficult and involved, he wants you to go find the Defias Messenger and get the letter

from him, Now the Defias Messenger patrols from here to here, and is kind of difficult

to track down and to kill, so I would recommend bringing along a friend, upon killing him

and retrieving his letter you are going to return it to Gryan, after returning the letter

to Gryan he is going to want you to escort the Traitor in order to find the Defias hideout,

so this is an escort quest, definitely bring friends, because you are going to have to

clear a path for the Defias Traitor all the way from Sentinal Hill down to Moonbrook to

the Deadmines entrance, upon finding it you will return to Gryan and get the quest to

kill Edwin VanCleef and bring him his head, for this quest you will get either mail legs,

leather chest, or a staff, all of which rare quality, the fifth quest you can get is only

available after you escort the Traitor as part of the "Defias Brotherhood" quest chain,

described previously, This quest is called "Red Silk Bandana's" and you get it from Scout

Riell located here, and what Scout Riell wants you to do is to collect ten Red Silk Bandana's

from the various mobs within the instance, This quest just gives experience, but a pretty

hefty chunk of it, Alright now you have all five quests you need before entering the instance,

And it is time to go!

So here is a little cartoony video of how to find the actual instance portal.

*music*

But, stop right here, now turn left to enter the undead corridor where you are

going to find the miners' union cards and kill the brother for "Oh Brother..."

*battle sounds*

After completing "Collecting Memories" and "Oh Brother..." you are now ready to enter

the instance.

*music*

As you quest through the instance, just be sure to be killing Defias members,

collect their red silk bandana's when you get to the Mast Room kill the goblin shredder

and you will get the Gnoam Sprecklesprocket for "Underground Assault" Now at the end of

the instance you will fight Edwin VanCleef and collect his head for "The Defias Brotherhood"

He is also going to drop the Unsent Letter, which will start the sixth and final quest

of this dungeon, After you pick up and start "An Unsent Letter" it wants you to deliver

it to Baros Alexston located in Stormwind in the Cathedral Square, you will deliver

it to him and he will give you quest "Bazil Thredd" now this quest is actually for "The

Stockades" so it will be sitting in your journal for a little bit, and we will get to it next

time in Instance Quest Guide when we do The Stockades, Alright guys, hope you liked the

video, like and subscribe if you did, check out the rest of my channel, and until next

time, Au Revoir! *music*

Sackler family targeted veterans to increase Oxycontin profits with survival guide urging opioid use - Duration: 15:20.

Purdue Pharma and the controlling members of the family-run company targeted veterans in an attempt to drastically increase opioid sales

An undredacted complaint filed against the pharmaceutical giant and eight members of the Sackler family states that this was done with the help of a 'survival guide' that was marketed as a self-help book for post-war veterans

The 'guide' urged service members to ask their doctors for opioid prescriptions while assuring them that the pills were not addictive unless there was a family history of drug abuse

Attorney General Maura Healey states in the complaint filed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that the campaign launched by Purdue and the Sacklers to target veterans was remarkably successful in the end - at a 'terrible cost

' 'Compared to non-veterans, Massachusetts veterans are three times more likely to die from opioid overdose,' reads the court filing

The complaint lays out a three-step method by which Purdue and the Sacklers worked to increase profits by targeting untapped groups

'First, Purdue deceived Massachusetts doctors and patients to get more people on its dangerous drugs

Purdue targeted vulnerable people who could be introduced to its opioids, including elderly patients, veterans, and people who had never taken opioids before,' states the filing

'Second, Purdue misled them to take higher and more dangerous doses.' And finally: 'Third, Purdue deceived them to stay on its drugs for longer and more harmful periods of time

' Step one in the push to get more veterans hooked on Oxycontin was the 'survival guide

' Exit Wounds a Survival Guide To Pain Management for Returning Veterans & Their Families was released in 2009 by Derek McGinnis

He is an Iraq War combat veteran who lost his leg when a terrorist deliberately drove into the ambulance he was driving overseas

He now speaks around the country to doctors and veterans on behalf of Purdue Pharma about his chronic pain, a diagnosis that requires him to be on pain pills at all times

That makes McGinnis a profit powerhouse for Purdue, but could lead to problems down the line, according to experts

The complaint cites one study that states: 'Long experience with opioids shows that people who are not predisposed to addiction are unlikely to become addicted to opioid pain medications

' There is little mention of Exit Wounds' origin online however, with even Amazon making no mention of Purdue or the Sacklers on the book's sales page

Exit Wounds tells 'the inspirational story of how one courageous veteran, with the aid of his family, recovered and thrived despite near death, traumatic brain injury, and the loss of a limb

' The book also 'offers veterans and their families comprehensive and authoritative information on acute and chronic pain syndromes afflicting veterans, treatment options, and strategies for self-advocating for optimal pain care and medical resources inside and outside the VA system,' according to its page in the Amazon

There is only one passage of the book that is highlighted in the complaint, and while it is brief there are a number of alarming comments

'The pain-relieving properties of opioids are unsurpassed; they are today considered the "gold standard" of pain medications, and so are often the main medications used in the treatment of chronic pain,' writes McGinnis in the book

'Yet, despite their great benefits, opioids are underused. For a number of reasons, healthcare providers may be afraid to prescribe them, and patients may be afraid to take them

At the core of this wariness is the fear of addiction, so I want to tackle this issue head-on

' McGinnis later writes in the book: 'Long experience with opioids shows that people who are not predisposed to addiction are unlikely to become addicted to opioid pain medications

' The Sacklers also allegedly pushed high doses of painkillers and hoped to cash in on anti-overdose drug NARCAN while 235,000 Americans died from the opoid epidemic

The lawsuit claims that Purdue Pharma and members of the Sackler family knew that patients on higher dosages of OxyContin for long periods were at an increased risk of serious side effects, including addiction, yet they continued to promote the high doses as they yielded the most profit

In fact, from 2008 to 2016, the Sackler family added $4.2billion to their already massive fortune in profits derived just from the sale of prescription opioids

Richard Sackler, a son of a founder of Purdue Pharma and its former president, wrote in a 2008 email to company officials to 'measure our performance by Rx's by strength, giving higher measures to higher strengths', according to the filing

Jonathan and Mortimer Sackler were also copied in on the email, according to the new disclosures

Richard Sackler has always denied he was involved in the company's marketing activities

The filing shows a potential plan to study 'long-term script users' to 'better understand target end-patients' for NARCAN

The plan never went forward but appeared in a 2014 presentation to company officials, including a Sackler family member, which also stated that 'pain treatment and addiction are naturally linked' and that 'there is an opportunity to expand our offering to be an end-to-end pain provider

' The filing paints a picture of a wealthy family getting richer while overdoses skyrocketed as the opioid epidemic swept the country and claimed the lives of more than 235,000 Americans according to the Centers for Disease Control

The 275-page suit is set to tarnish the legacy of a family that once bragged they would 'bury the competition' with the release of the highly addictive Oxycontin

Purdue spokesman Robert Josephson criticized the lawsuit and denied the claims, telling the New York Times: 'None of the documents cited by the attorney general support her fictional narrative that the company was only interested in promoting higher doses

' The complaint states that eight members of the Sackler family (Richard, Beverly, David, Ilene, Jonathan, Kathe, Mortimer and Theresa) 'paid their families billions of dollars from opioid sales

' The exact number is listed as $4,273,489,182, though it is noted that 'the list of payments if likely incomplete and not exhaustive

' It was not just the family who was profiting either, with board members taking home $600,000 annually for their work with the company, according to the complaint

Members of the family that controls Connecticut-based Purdue Pharma are also defendants in a lawsuit brought by New York's Suffolk County

There is also a massive consolidated federal case playing out in Ohio.More than 1,000 government entities have sued Purdue, along with other drugmakers and distributors, claiming they are partly culpable for a drug overdose crisis that resulted in a record 72,000 deaths in 2017

The majority of those deaths were from legal or illicit opioids. The company documents at the heart of the Massachusetts claims also could be evidence in the Ohio lawsuits, which are being overseen by a federal judge

The allegations have already started to tarnish a name that is best known for its generosity to museums worldwide including New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, which has a Sackler wing, and London's Tate Modern

The Sackler name also is on a gallery at the Smithsonian, a wing of galleries at London's Royal Academy of Arts and a museum at Beijing's Peking University

The family's best known and most generous donor, Arthur M.Sackler, died nearly a decade before OxyContin was released

In its lawsuit filed last year, the Massachusetts attorney general's office went after members of the Sackler family and Purdue, which is structured as a partnership and is not publicly traded

The company's flagship drug, OxyContin, was the first of a generation of drugs that used a narcotic painkiller in a time-release form

That meant each pill had a larger amount of drug in it than other versions and could get abusers a more intense high if they defeated the time-release process

The state is asserting that Richard Sackler, a son of a company founder and at the time a senior vice president for Purdue, as well as other family members pushed selling OxyContin even when they knew it could cause problems

When the drug was first sold in 1996, the filing said, Sackler told the sales force 'the launch of OxyContin Tablets will be followed by a blizzard of prescriptions that will bury the competition

' In 2007, the company and three current and former executives pleaded guilty to criminal charges that they deceived regulators, doctors and patients about the drug's addiction risks

The company agreed to fines of $634 million. The next year, according to the Massachusetts lawsuit, the company pressed ahead with a new version of the drug designed to be harder for abusers to crush

It did so without first conducting trials and despite a warning from the company's CEO that the new version 'will not stop patients from the simple act of taking too many pills

' Purdue had previously responded to the Massachusetts filing.'In a rush to vilify a single manufacturer whose medicines represent less than 2 percent of opioid pain prescriptions rather than doing the hard work of trying to solve a complex public health crisis, the complaint distorts critical facts and cynically conflates prescription opioid medications with illegal heroin and fentanyl,' said the company
